This is the full list of those who have signed up. Hopefully you're all on The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness (unless you said you didn't want to be!

Remember, weighing in tomorrow is not part of this week, although if you want to, you can put your weight in the 'original start date/weight' columns

Thanks must go, as always, to the very lovely @AthelstaneTheUnready for setting up the spreadsheet. You'll see this time that we've amended it slightly so that you can record loss for this Bootcamp as well as since you started, for those of you who started earlier.

If your name isn't on the spreadsheet, don't panic! Just add it to the bottom of the list. Don't try to insert it in the right alphabetical place - Athelstane will do that later.

If you are on the spreadsheet, but don't want to be, send me or Athelstane a PM and we'll remove you.

Whatever you do, don't touch the blue cells!

If you're using a mobile to access the spreadsheet, you'll need to download the Google Sheets app.

And, I should have added, my energy levels are at an all time low. I'm working pretty long hours at the moment but all the same, I'm wrecked.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/01/2021 16:14

Afternoon!

That's a great post @venusandmars. Really inspiring, thank you.

Feeling good today. I started last week really, so I'm feeling the benefit now. Much more energy, and a clear head.

B: yog, nuts etc. Smaller latte in prep for next week.
L: avocado, mozerella, tomatoes, basil and salt. Handful of blueberries.
D: Spanish omelette with spinach, goats cheese, onions, garlic, mushrooms and more tomatoes.

I love drinking water, so that's not a problem. (I'm another one who loathes fruit tea: it's not just you @BrassicaBabe).

Oneborneverydecade · 14/01/2021 16:22

I hate fruit tea too. I've wasted money recently buying several boxes only to give them to my Mum (who then doesn't like them either). I have swapped out my many many cups of milky tea for black decaf Earl Grey so that's a win.

Happy birthday @52andblue

52andblue · 14/01/2021 16:33

Thanks @Oneborneverydecade
(sorry to mention Cake: last time I promise!) xxx

Sounds to me like you're still in the process of transitioning from a carb-heavy diet to one with much less carbohydrate.

Make sure you're getting your electrolytes; up the water, if you're still feeling that tight feeling, make sure you're eating plenty of fat, and just rest assured that you'll soon get through it. Flowers

Happy Birthday 52andblue ThanksGlitterballStar

Does that mean you need to change your name? Wink

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/01/2021 16:45

Happy birthday @52andblue !

NelAntarctic · 14/01/2021 17:01

Penblwydd Hapus @52andblue - Happy Birthday in Welsh 😊

Thank you @BIWI

Ratherchillyinhere · 14/01/2021 17:08

Vegetables? I'm sure you just forgot to list them

Oh yeah, I had a green salad with olive oil at lunch with the soup and we've now got some asparagus to have with the bacon, halloumi and fried egg tonight Wink

52andblue · 14/01/2021 17:15

thank you @prettybird
Yes, after this I hope to transition to: '53 and really ME :)'
Thank you @MilesJuppIsMyBitch
thank you @NelAntarctic (that's a bit special in Welsh, thank you :)

Primitivo · 14/01/2021 17:22

Hi everyone! I've got a quick question about soup. I've just found a Tidefords lentil, spinach dhal soup in the fridge that says it's got 3.1g carbs/100. Does this mean that it's ok, or does presence of lentils make it a no no? Thanks xx

BIWI · 14/01/2021 17:36

I doubt very much, though, that you'd only be consuming 100g of the soup! The pot is 600g/ml, and so a portion would be half of that - so you'd be eating 9.3g carbs.

If that's all you're having, then it's not actually too bad.

OP posts:
BIWI · 14/01/2021 17:37

... the only thing to add is that it's actually low in fat, so it might be a good idea to drizzle some olive oil over the top when you serve it, or add a dollop of butter into it or yoghurt on the top

MrsOmelette · 14/01/2021 17:43

Well toothache is definitely making me avoid eating, I’m trying though. Today I had leftover curry/cauli rice from last night for breakfast, then some chilli for lunch and some soft cheese & yoghurt with vanilla for dinner.
Tomorrow’s: B - scrambled eggs & mushrooms, L - stuffed green pepper with mozzarella D - corned beef, shallots and cabbage.

SilverStarburst · 14/01/2021 17:46

Hi BIWI, am late to the party as usual but just wanted to know if cauliflower cheese is ok after the first two weeks, as flour used to make the roux?

CalendulaAndRoses · 14/01/2021 17:52

@BIWI hoping I am not too late to join. Bootcamp got me through last big lockdown and I (mostly) stayed on the wagon til Xmas. Am now drowning in chocolate and mince pie guilt and need a good boot up the backside again. So here I am Grin Can I join???

prettybird · 14/01/2021 17:54

You don't need to make a roux: just grate a shed load of cheese, mix it with done double cream and cream cheese (and maybe some nutmeg and/or mustard) and dollop on top of the hot, cooked cauliflower and grill/bake.

There are recipes in the Veggie recipe thread.

SilverStarburst · 14/01/2021 17:55

Thanks, prettybird

nowlook · 14/01/2021 17:58

Afternoon all. For those suffering with a touch of carb flu, you can add cream, salt and a pinch of chilli flakes to Bovril Wink

Has anyone tried baked courgette crisps with parmesan before? Saw a French recipe. You need firm, young courgettes. Slice very finely (mandolin). Salt for 30mins to remove water. Rinse and dry. Drizzle with olive oil. Top with parmesan and bake for 15 mins. Flip over and bake for a further 10. Will try tomorrow Smile

Ragwort · 14/01/2021 18:49

Nowlook - those courgettes sound fab, I will try them tomorrow, usually find courgettes utterly bland and boring.

Also feeling very tired today - agree it is probably the transition from overeating carbs and the new WOE - spent four hours having a nap*Blush and feel better - now preparing pork chops left over from the other night, stuffed mushrooms with cream and Stilton and green beans.

  • on furlough in case anyone thinks I am exceptionally lazy and no DC at home Grin.
IncurablyCurious · 14/01/2021 18:58

Phew. I've survived the first half of exam week (barely - neurobiology is not my jam) and rewarded myself with a big bubble bath rather than sweet treats. Not quite triumphant, but definitely very relieved.

Thanks venusandmars for clarifying re tea vs water - and good to know I'm not the only fridge zombie on bootcamp Grin

I am out of premade dinners (it's cheeseburger pie's fault, it's way too tasty cold), and am actually too shattered to make the steak dinner I had planned. May have to rethink my meals for the next few days. In the meantime, I think I might end up falling face-first into the burrata I have sitting in the fridge and get an early night.

B: Blueberry and juniper tea by the bucketload while stress-typing.
L: Dirty salad - avocado and lambs lettuce, topped with a mayo/chicken/cucumber/celery mix, all liberally covered in salty homemade bacon dust.
D: Burrata, and some obligatory greens.
S: 2 x babybel

Seriously lagging on the water front though. Must try to get back into the habit.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/01/2021 19:01

Ooh, the courgette crisps reminds me how much I enjoy (home-made) kale crisps. Must get some...

Today's food:

B: creamy coffee, slice of low-carb toast with almond butter.
Mid-morning: finished off the chocolate covered coffee beans I got given for Christmas. To remove temptation for next week.
L: spicy sausage, blue cheese and spinach omelette. Odd combo - was using up leftovers - but worked.
Mid-afternoon: couple of slices of ham and a piece of cheese. Not sure whether it's due to the carbs I had over Christmas or just boredom, but I'm finding it very hard not to snack all of a sudden. Sad
D: rump steak on truffle oil drenched spinach leaves, with buttery asparagus, mushrooms and courgette.

2.4 litres of water so far, 0.6 to go.

Patapouf · 14/01/2021 19:29

Hi everyone!

What's all this about a super low carb bread 👀

I've started BC already this week because I didn't want to waste another week being fat. I've learned the hard way that if I'm not strict enough it all goes to shit and I give up. I'm doing okay so far but definitely not managing the water, I'm finding it tricky to remember to drink when I'm working.

LostaraYil · 14/01/2021 19:37

Great post @venusandmars!
Happy birthday @52andblue!
Today:
L- omelette with tomato, onion and cheese, olives
D - salmon, loads of broccoli, a few peas, a creamy sauce
I am drinking all the fruit tea and water at the moment, constantly thirsty.

Solongsugar · 14/01/2021 19:50

I've strayed somewhat in comparison to how I've been in previous week's and I've gone from 11.4 to 11.8, which I think has been the highest increase since I started 4-5 months ago. I'd been needlessly snacking on biscuits, the odd sandwich , so of course I know more calories but fgs 4,lbs!! Bloody sugar! How to drop that swiftly?
