Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - the lucky 7

... no idea why 7 is supposed to be lucky, but let's hope it is for us!

Here's the Spreadsheet

If you haven't visited the spreadsheet for a while, or really had a good look at it, can I suggest that you have a good browse of it now? There's lots of really useful information there.

Why do I suggest that? Because it's easy to get complacent or to lose enthusiasm this far into Bootcamp - but yet we still have 4 weeks to go, so it's important to hold your resolve.

Hopefully the scales (or your tape measure/favourite item of clothing) have been kind to you this week - but if not, have a think about why. Have you allowed carb creep? Have you been cheating? Have you slipped on the fat/water front?

Anyway, hopefully all is good, and here's to another positive week

Midlifemission · 27/11/2020 14:47

@BuffyTheBuffetSlayer that's the most awful news hope you are all taking care of yourselves

@BurningGubbins glad your interview went well - when will you hear from them?

It's been a crazy busy few days with the house move for PIL looming closer so I am not feeling like I have eaten the best I could but it's at least positive that I seem to be on default low carb setting now.
I have had a couple more people notice and comment on the weight loss so far so that's very motivating.

I have a useful product to share - a lovely Chilli Mayo very low sugar, by Dr Wills. Will post pics.

You've got this, Takingontheundead :)

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer very sorry to hear your sad news. Flowers

I've eaten too many nuts and not drunk enough water over the past three days, but the nuts are all gone, I'm not buying any more, and I'm just finishing off a second litre, so should get my third in by bedtime.

NSV - the jeans I ordered from the Fat Face sale arrived today. They were out of size 12 in the dark wash, so since they were stretch I took a chance and ordered the size 10. They're a tiny bit on the tight side and I'll probably wait another 7lbs or so before I start wearing them, but they slid on easily and did up. I could wear them all day comfortably, but I don't want to overly stretch them.

VeryLittleOwl · 27/11/2020 16:37

Oh, and DH was actually awake for once when I came to bed last night, watched me getting undressed and went, 'Bloody hell, you've lost a lot of weight.' Sometimes he does manage to say the right things Grin

Takingontheundead · 27/11/2020 17:22

😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

Nearly killed me, esp as we got stuck in traffic so i was trapped in a car with the smell for 30m while kids exclaimed "mmmmm" constantly!!!

Salad was actually shite. But now I'm off to work and safe from crap.

Anyway, just wanted to check in and give Flowers to those I’ve read about and Star as well.

Keeping up with the thread is all I can manage, but KOKO y’all.

Sorry you're having a tough time at wrk. Take a breather and refocuse, drink lots of water which will help your brain power!

Pleaseandthankyou · 27/11/2020 18:55

Thank you to whoever recommended the low carb bread. I bought some rolls and they were really fresh when they arrived. I have just had one filled with sausages and mustard. I cannot wait to have a burger over the weekend. It has been a very long week. I have to work all weekend and everywhere is closed so this makes it very easy to bring lunch to the office.

Pleaseandthankyou · 27/11/2020 19:26

And I have just had a cup of teapigs limited edition gluhwein tea. There is 20% off today and free shipping so I have ordered some more. It tastes and smells of Christmas and is the closest I am going to get to a Christmas market.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 27/11/2020 19:55

The gluhwein tea is lovely. Second only to the chocolate mint imo!
Checking in with today's food. B - salmon fried in butter with salad veg.
L - 12 almonds, 2 squares 85% dark choc, one Clementine and a slice of corned beef.
D - steak burger from butcher and cabbage, sprouts and onion fried in oil and butter and seasoned with caraway seeds.
Weekend drink of whisky and diet coke.

Am considering fasting in the evenings from now on and only eating during the day. Am not enjoying dinner so much now and it's making me feel like I'm eating too much. Peak hunger for me seems to hit around 2 pm, so I might stop eating after lunch.

BurningGubbins · 27/11/2020 20:12

Midlifemission they’re interviewing someone else on Monday so maybe I’ll hear on Tuesday. I’ve got another interview lined up in a couple of weeks so if it doesn’t work out I’ve got another option. My last interview was total shite so progress!

I am exhausted this week as have had some broken nights with a coldy child. I am not used to it anymore! Usually I would keep myself going with carbs and chocolate but obviously didn’t. I treated myself to a cheese advent calendar that I will share with my husband to keep the portions low.

BurningGubbins · 27/11/2020 20:13

ShagMeRiggins sorry to hear you’re having a tough week. Will you get a break at the weekend?

Jdhshekr · 27/11/2020 20:48

I am so hungry today and can’t stop eating. I think it’s because it’s so cold. I don’t usually struggle with this WOE but I just can’t feel full today.

Midlifemission · 27/11/2020 21:00

@Pleaseandthankyou the gluhwein tea is lovely isn’t it . It’s been one of my best discoveries of this Bootcamp - I hope it isn’t too limited edition !

StuntNun · 27/11/2020 21:06

I've ordered from Teapigs today as well at 20% off. I love their chocolate mint tea but it's impossible to find in the shops. I got camomile and Gluhwein tea as well. I gave up caffeine four months ago so it will be nice to have a hot drink now the weather's cold. I had been having hot water with electrolytes in but it seems dreadfully ascetic even though I do enjoy it.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 27/11/2020 21:13

The chocolate mint was quite reasonable on Amazon, last time I ordered. About £3 iirc.

Mimosa1 · 27/11/2020 21:33

@StuntNun may I ask how you've been feeling since giving up caffeine and what decided you to do it? I accidentally had a 2 days of decaf black tea without noticing the substitution and had the most horrendous headache until I figured out what had happened, so Im obviously more addicted than I thought. I seem to sleeping fine and no other ill effects so I'm on the fence about giving up.

Mimosa1 · 27/11/2020 21:34

Obviously feel free to ignore if you'd rather not say!

StuntNun · 27/11/2020 22:19

@Mimosa1 I gave up caffeine because I was fed up of feeling addicted and managing my tiredness / alertness with caffeine. I had tried unsuccessfully to cut down many times so I thought I would give it up completely for a while and then reintroduce it. It took about three months to reach the point where I felt the same as when I was on caffeine. Now when I'm tired, I'm just tired, I don't have a cup of tea or coffee to wake me up in the morning or keep me going. I don't think I'm ready to have caffeine again at this point; I think I would get addicted again straight away. Maybe at some point in the future I'll have it again but not right now.

Pleaseandthankyou · 27/11/2020 22:20

I saw the chocolate and mint but thought it sounded odd for tea. I will definitely try it next time. I have the rhubarb and ginger to try.

CeibaTree · 27/11/2020 23:04

@Pleaseandthankyou

Thanks for the 20% tip, I've just placed an order :)
