Morning all! Nice, bright and early today because I woke up at stupid o'clock Smile

As ever, here's the spreadsheet

Just two weeks left!

Hopefully we're all in the swing of things, but if you've found things slowing or slipping a little, why not go back to strict Bootcamp for these last two weeks?

It's very easy to let the carbs slip back into the daily menu, so a focused effort on keeping them at bay might be a good plan.

I’m the swim parent westealingmum. I have not missed getting up early! Hoping for a gentle transition into it… 🥱

Hopeislost · 23/07/2020 21:10

@8track The Bombay celeriac sounds good! Do you have a recipe?

@Takingontheworld Hopefully it's just a precaution and things settle down soon.

BIWI · 23/07/2020 21:26

Sadly not @SparklesAllOver Grin. SW London is nowhere near as glamorous or as warm!

Me too @Rshard!

Mimosa1 · 24/07/2020 05:52

Morning everyone. I tried microwave cauliflower rice yesterday Envy

SparklesAllOver · 24/07/2020 06:55

Hi Mimosa I have tried the Asda one and the Sainsburys one and both taste ok to me, although I usually have them with chilli or curry. My favourite is Asda frozen one with broccoli, definitely worth a try.

Takingontheworld · 24/07/2020 06:57

Look what just happened!!! I broke out of the 200s!

By a smidgen. But a smidgen all the same

SparklesAllOver · 24/07/2020 07:05

Takingontheworld hope you are ok Flowers

SparklesAllOver · 24/07/2020 07:06

Cross post - well done Takingontheworld

Takingontheworld · 24/07/2020 07:18

I'm ok. I figure if she was really concerned i wouldn't be booked for a weeks time right? Theres family history so it's not entirely out of realms of possibilities but I'm just not letting myself go there.

Still bleeding. 🤷‍♀️ actually experiencing more discomfort with it again today. Maybe stress?

SparklesAllOver · 24/07/2020 07:22

Is your GP approachable, Takingontheworld? Rather than worrying, could you ring her and discuss your concerns? Might help you to feel better.

SparklesAllOver · 24/07/2020 07:23

PS, Love your nail polish!

Takingontheworld · 24/07/2020 07:37

It needs a top up clearly! I do like happy colours on my feet!

She is. Although i think inexperienced. I'm pretty sure they're not really supposed to be mentioning things like the big C at initial investigating stage...?

Rshard · 24/07/2020 07:53

I like the Sainsbury’s cauliflower rice too mimosa, although it’s regularly out of stock on my local one. Ocado do a good frozen one.

That’s fab taking, well done!

ealingwestmum · 24/07/2020 08:24

I struggle to find supermarkets in stock @Mimosa1 other than the odd Sainsbury’s, but, after watching Jamie O making it the other day, I’ve stopped buying it.

Cut the cauliflower into chunks, and magimix blitz it with a handful of mint leaves and seasoning. Place in bowl, cling film top and microwave for 4 mins. So much nicer than shop bought (in my opinion)!

ealingwestmum · 24/07/2020 08:25

Cross post with RShard Smile

FizzyPink · 24/07/2020 08:27

Does anyone have any tips for easing constipation? I’ve always had it but I used to get things going by having a big smoothie every morning which is now obviously out. At the moment I’m having a big omelette with chorizo and spinach for brunch and then a dinner with loads of veg so I’m wondering if I need to swap the omelette for a salad or something?

StuntNun · 24/07/2020 08:43

My mum does that Ealing only without a foot knife! When she makes chicken curry you get all weird bits e.g. with backbone in. A bit like KFC really if you think about it.

Mimosa I like the Tesco frozen cauli rice but it doesn't have much flavour which is good because DH is a gigantic weirdo who doesn't like cauliflower. if you want more flavour then frozen florets, defrosted and blitzed in the food processor work well.

8track another request for the Bombay celeriac recipe please.

Well done on the weight loss Taking and what a great incentive to KOKO.

Turnedouttoes drink a lot of water and try a teaspoon of coconut oil in tea/coffee/rooibos/herbal tea. If things get really bad they psyllium husk powder might be worth a try.

Ragwort · 24/07/2020 09:54

Turned I take a cod liver oil tablet every morning (seems to work Wink).

Rshard · 24/07/2020 10:07

The mention of making cauliflower rice means I have to mention getting my finger stuck in a blender while making it as a warning not to be stupid and stick your finger in a blender.

FizzyPink · 24/07/2020 10:29

Thanks for those suggestions both, will give them a try.

I know it’s also definitely to do with the fact I’ve stopped my hour long walking commute plus 3 gym sessions a week. Really need to get back into the habit of a walk in the evenings

StuntNun · 24/07/2020 10:53

I still shudder to remember that Rshard. Has it healed okay?

ealingwestmum · 24/07/2020 11:01

Will you be able to get back into the gym from next week Turnedouttoes? The walking will definitely help...

I CANNOT wait to get back the gym, just for the treadmill alone which I used to use for 30 mins after stupid o’clock dropping daughter to pool. I am celebrating solo today Strava saying I have run 500kms since 31 Mar. And took a massive double knee scraping tumble only once which isn’t bad for me. But I’ve hated land running, so hopefully today was the last ever run.

ealingwestmum · 24/07/2020 11:03

I’m in awe of those here that are half/whole marathon training, but know I’m not cut out for that level of pain!
