Low Carb Bootcamp Léger! Notre quatre semaine est ici!

It's Monday! So soon! Wink

Morning all.

Ici, c'est le début de notre quatre semaine du Bootcamp. C'est léger est pas ordinaire.

... which means we can relax things slightly.

Some fruit is allowed in moderation - mainly berries. Nuts and seeds in moderation, and alcohol very much in moderation.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness if you need to, check the rules for Bootcamp Light on the tabs there.

If you're happy on 'ordinary' Bootcamp, then by all means continue. If you were finding intermittent fasting was helping you, then you could also consider trying to extend the length of time you've been fasting - so if you were managing 12:12, try working up to 16:8. If you were managing 16:8, see how much long you can extend that for. Just don't let it go so long that you get too hungry and are tempted to cheat.

Alternatively, you could do a hybrid, so strict Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

We only have two weeks left of this Bootcamp, so let's get/keep focused, and see what we can do!

@Mummyoflittledragon I’m so sorry that this happened to you and your dd. Flowers
Here’s a link to good resource:
www.kidscape.org.uk/advice/advice-for-young-people/dealing-with-cyberbullying/

If the stress is affecting your health, could you ask your Dp to deal with it?

I think you’ve done all the rights things. Take care.

mummyoflittledragon

Im so sorry to hear about your poor DD. I live in fear of this. The internet is a scary facilitator of so much shite these days. I hope you're holding up ok.

1/2 lb off so I'm now 13lbs down and a tantalising 0.3lb off being in the next stone bracket!

Unfortunately i have the most horrendous headache and feel absolutely wiped. Arthtris is kicking my backside and I'm having a very bad flare up.

Tomorrow we are celebrating being reunited with grandparents and parents in the garden with a big roast.

I'm going to 16:8 and try and do my best to garden if my body allows and balance it all out. Then back to strict monday. I'm determined to see this through.

I bought pants in a size down !!!!

Yumsnet · 20/06/2020 11:28

Sorry to hear that Mummyoflittledragon, that sounds super stressful.

On good days I feel like I could do this WOE forever. But the, cough, digestive side of things is getting a bit hard. I’m either running to the loo or feeling v uncomfortable

Takingontheworld · 20/06/2020 11:28

Ah crap forgot to namechange back thus making the namechange pointless in first place 🤦‍♀️

Yumsnet · 20/06/2020 11:30

Argh - that I’m stuck. Also getting headaches several times a week (taking magnesium, multivit, oxo etc) but when I get up in the morning I feel so tired already, which doesn’t sound right.

Mummyoflittledragon · 20/06/2020 11:31

@Takingontheworld

Ah crap forgot to namechange back thus making the namechange pointless in first place 🤦‍♀️
Idk what you’re referring to. Report your name change fail and get the offending post changed...

Thanks everyone and for the link devon. My friend, who is a primary school teacher spoke to her yesterday and showed her something similar on the school website. We also have an offer of a yr12 girl to talk to her about how she and her younger sister handle the situation.

Unfortunately she still wants to be friends with these girls. She’s scared she won’t have any friends when she gets back to school. One mutual friend, who stuck up for her and has also been bullied by them is back in with them. Another girl fell out with dd big time about a month ago when I advised dd to tell the girl she would no longer listen to her constant long, rambling voice messages. And dds other school friend took offence that she wanted to have a play date and hang around with these girls; it’s got toxic between them as well as dd is hassling her to be her friend again.

What is it with Yr7 11 and 12 yos?? Dd is one of these kids, who likes to have lots of friends and wants to get along with everyone but isn’t getting it quite right either.

Anyway on the plus side, I’m now past the 16th hour of fasting... Rant over 😬

Takingontheworld · 20/06/2020 11:35

Have reported myself.

I'm the one with new pants 😂

devoncreamtea · 20/06/2020 11:39

It’s a tough age group! They are all maturing differently - some of them are like 25 yr olds and others are still little kids in their minds. I think they will navigate through it - remember that as adults, we have an overview, but to them it all moves on quickly and they are in the moment. School will be able to help, try not to worry. I guess the only thing you can do is keep telling your dd to be who she is, that she’s great as she is etc and trying to send the message that she doesn’t have to change to be liked. But then they are all trying things out as this age anyway - it’s such hard work! Hope it improves quickly.

LostaraYil · 20/06/2020 11:51

Sorry to hear about the situation with your dd, Mummyoflittledragon. It sounds like you have done a lot to help and get her support.
Brassica, well done! I'm still a couple of pounds away from joining you in the 9s, but you've made me feel like it's possible!
Planning to spend a bit of time with DS today before DH takes him to the airport, though he was out late with a couple of friends and probably won't be up for a while... I 'm a bit gutted I won't be able to go and see him off, but with the covid situation we couldn't book rooms for all of us in a hotel (morning flight tomorrow and DH doesn't want to risk motorway delays).

LostaraYil · 20/06/2020 11:56

@Freetodowhatiwant, here's the cheesecake recipe. It's definitely better after a night in the fridge, I had some for breakfast. Only 3g carbs!

BrassicaBabe · 20/06/2020 12:46

Thanks guys. Welcome to the nine club Freeto with Lostara about to join us too.

For context for folks new to BC. It's been a long hard slog. It's taken me all year to loose half a stone. Much of which I considered Xmas weight and was expecting "quick on, quick off". In the previous BC there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth on my part. It's not been an easy road.

My actual end goal is 9.10. So I'm hanging around a little longer yet.

Mummyoflittledragon · 20/06/2020 13:00

Thanks for the support. Happy weekend everyone and well done on the weight loss and / or Koko...

Jofish26 · 20/06/2020 13:12

Afternoon everyone! This week has been ok and have found that I am less hungry so hopefully my body is adapting.I put 2lbs on this week but am hopeful they will be back off by Monday's weigh in.

Now for the bit where I fell off the wagon.Thursday was a bit of a day work wise, currently furloughed but the organisation I work for has struggled and has now started a 90 day consultation for us to be taken back and run/managed by the local council. Lots of very upset colleagues so I coped how I normally do and ate chocolate, a whole Mars bar.I stopped after one.Now being super good to offset the damage.

Apart from my blip I am actually enjoying this woe and am hoping to have it fully embedded by the time I return to work/if we return to work.

Randomfatty · 20/06/2020 14:08

@BrassicaBabe - well done! I'm also aiming for the 9's but have a lot more to lose - but slow and steady wins the race! I'm in for the long haul as I'd just normally starve myself to get slim! I'm hopeful for a shift by Monday as well! Feeling better from the food poisoning I had Thursday / Friday - weather is sunnier so generally boosts the mood!
Food today:
L - eggs, bacon, toms and asparagus cooked in butter, a handful of blueberries
D - courgettini with chorizo, prawns and pesto 'pasta'

Hope all is good with everyone else!

BIWI · 20/06/2020 14:19

Someone on another thread linked to this talk by Dr Jason Fung which I've just watched. A really good explanation of why 'eat less/move more' doesn't work - as well as why fasting does.

RozHuntleysStump · 20/06/2020 14:28

Well done Brassica! You’re an inspiration to us all.

I’ve been doing it all week. I only ever do BC light. It works for me just fine and I can stay on it with the odd strawberry etc. Otherwise it’s a bit too much for me. I am working on losing a stone I’ve already lost once which is irritating but I’ll keep on with it.

Now the carb flu, headaches, fatigue and gastric distress are over, I feel great Grin.

Wormthatturned · 20/06/2020 14:55

Just catching up with all your news after a pretty full-on work week. We done for all the successes and sorry to hear from those of you who aren't feeling so well - hope you're better soon.
I've been well behaved on bootcamp this week so it's been disheartening to see no budging on the scales. However, this morning there appears to be a little tiny twitch downwards at last. (Tiny cheer Smile)
After your posts about collapsing boobage, I thought I would give the pencil test a try now I'm well into middle age. I'm proud to report that not only can I fail the pencil and pencil case tests but I can now suspend a small briefcase. Competitive? Moi?

prettybird · 20/06/2020 16:13

Forgive me Boot Campers, for I have sinned Blush

....I had a corner of a homemade sourdough croissant Shock Having said that, I think that's pretty damn impressive to restrict myself to just that wee corner to try, given that I made 10! Wink Dh said that they were fabulous Hmm

(I'll not post up a picture as they look pretty damn delicious Grin)

Ninkanink · 20/06/2020 16:15

Ohhh I’d love to see a photo!

prettybird · 20/06/2020 16:45

I'd get drummed out of Boot Camp Grin

OneFootintheRave · 20/06/2020 16:57

Hi everyone WinkI'm buzzing and just had to share. My Tanita mini scales arrived (and boy they are small, but they give the same weight each time) and I have lost 3KGs. I knew I had lost a bit but this is so inspiring.

I have been sticking pretty closely to the plan with a few tiny cheats very occasionally. A glass of red on a Saturday a Campari soda once with a friend . A tiny square of 80% cocoa chocolate now and then and 3 or 4 tiny French fries one night (playing with fire!!Shock)but overall I've stayed true. I've been managing 16:8 most days as well with some light cardio thrown in most days.

Gonna KOKO but now I am stoked and know I can do it. I'm enjoying the food too. Thanks to everyone for all the support.

blueglassandfreesias · 20/06/2020 17:47

Well done one foot in the rave! Amazing!

I have been really strict all week and today I have had a present delivered to me- a Fortnum and Masons parcel today with a cream tea in it- 4 scones, a jar of jam, a
Box of handmade miniature cakes and a box of biscuits.
It turns out it’s from my work colleague who I have mentored this year and it’s a thank you gift.

It’s so rare that I ever have such a posh treat ( been LCHF since October 2019) that I am going to have a cream tea with my husband tomorrow (Father’s Day Lockdown treat) but I will get straight back on the wagon on Monday. Eeek!

Hopeislost · 20/06/2020 18:37

I baked two cakes today for Father's Day tomorrow and didn't even lick the spoon!

I think it helps that I am very much looking forward to my strawberries and clotted cream tomorrow 🍓

SparklesAllOver · 20/06/2020 18:54

BrassicaBabe well done! Mummyoflittledragon hope everything works out.
Had DF round today for an early father's day barbecue, chicken marinated in chilli, lime and ginger with lots of salad, had a few rasperries and strawberries with cream and it tasted wonderful, worth waiting for. Still haven't eaten any chocolate since before bootcamp, which is a miracle but did have a glass of red and a skinny mohito with just muddled mint, lots of ice and sparkling water. Back to KOKO.
