Low Carb Bootcamp Léger! Notre quatre semaine est ici!

It's Monday! So soon! Wink

Morning all.

Ici, c'est le début de notre quatre semaine du Bootcamp. C'est léger est pas ordinaire.

... which means we can relax things slightly.

Some fruit is allowed in moderation - mainly berries. Nuts and seeds in moderation, and alcohol very much in moderation.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness if you need to, check the rules for Bootcamp Light on the tabs there.

If you're happy on 'ordinary' Bootcamp, then by all means continue. If you were finding intermittent fasting was helping you, then you could also consider trying to extend the length of time you've been fasting - so if you were managing 12:12, try working up to 16:8. If you were managing 16:8, see how much long you can extend that for. Just don't let it go so long that you get too hungry and are tempted to cheat.

Alternatively, you could do a hybrid, so strict Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

We only have two weeks left of this Bootcamp, so let's get/keep focused, and see what we can do!

Btw, can we talk about scales?
I have 2 sets (inherited a nice set, can’t ditch the others) and they both (digital) say slightly different weights, I can cope with this, but what really irritates me is when they give different readings if I get on and off them a few times. Ridiculous.
Does anyone else have this or have I just got 2 shite sets? If you have a really good set can you tell me what they are and, if you have the all singing and dancing ones that give a body fat percentage, do they actually work do you think?

gruntley123 · 15/06/2020 09:46

@NigellaAwesome

Morning! 2 pounds off for me, but I think a —well overdue— trip to the loo would shift a bit more.

@Gruntly123 I see we are still keeping pace with one another - well done!

Morning!

Thanks @NigellaAwesome, well done to you too!

Onwards and downwards.

Some posts at the end of the last thread that really resonated with me - disordered eating and the ongoing effects. A lot to think about for me.

NoraEphronsneck · 15/06/2020 09:52

I'm down another 5lbs so very happy with that.

I've surprised myself by not struggling at all and quite happy to sit alongside people eating, pizza, cake, pasta. It's a revelation - I hope I can keep it up.

I think I'm going to stick to bootcamp proper rather than light as I'm finding it so easy and might extend fasting to 17:7 as again have found that relatively easy too.

I feel like a switch has gone off in my head saying 'enough is enough' - I can't possibly let myself get any bigger.

Puppermint · 15/06/2020 10:00

Gotta love a June baby @AthelstaneTheUnready, not like these awkward 'post-Christmas don't know what they want' types DH Grin I'm a bit pissed off as I'm supposed to be away for the weekend gin tasting but of course, bloody COVID strikes again. I was really looking forward to if but I'll try not to pout too much.

prettybird · 15/06/2020 10:02

Not weighed in yet as still to do the Ripped DVD and go for a run....

Freetodowhatiwant · 15/06/2020 10:21

Yeah I find that with the scales @Ifeelfat. I only have one set at the moment but it changes when I get on it a second time and a third. I always go with the first one, totally unscientifically!

NumbsMet · 15/06/2020 11:10

Bonne matin! 👋🏻

I'm really happy to see so many people are seeing their weight drop, well done!

I weigh daily and yesterday I was higher than I'd have liked but this morning I was down a further lb to the loss I'd been seeing throughout the week, for a total of 3lb. 10 in total since bootcamp started!

However, my main joy today has been when DP weighed himself. He's lost AN ENTIRE STONE!! I'm so very proud of him, he's been sticking to this woe so well and sometimes you can see he's craving something, but then he hops online and finds a recipe for a carb free alternative. We're definitely a team in this, he finds the recipes and I cook them (I hate looking for recipes online). I was jumping up and down like a crazy person when I saw his number on the scales this morning. That counts as exercise Grin

LostaraYil · 15/06/2020 11:12

I also have rubbish digital scales that give a different number if I get on and off them a few times. I'm always using the lowest of 3 values I get, which puts me down 1lb this week!
I'm going to go with BC lite during the week but only allow myself alcohol and chocolate at the weekend. Can't wait to see what berries I can find in the garden today, I was picking a handful of strawberries and raspberries most days last week (and giving them to the DCs Halo).

NumbsMet · 15/06/2020 11:16

Oh yes scales, I forgot to add, DP bought some scales many months back that measure body fat/water/muscle percentage etc. I think they can also connect to your phone but don't quote me on that. However, they are always very accurate down to the ounce. For better or for worse. So yesterday, when I saw a higher number, I got back on and it was the same three times. Same with today, when I saw a lower number, that stayed the same three times, right down to the ounces. I'll ask DP where he got them and what brand they are if anyone is interested?

BeyondDreamsOfBeyondFourWalls · 15/06/2020 11:19

0.4 lb for me, though it's actually a smidge more as I weighed less a few days ago - but I'm counting my Monday weights

Mixitupalot · 15/06/2020 11:21

Morning..just! Ive been super lazy these mornings, i cant get up.

Weighed in, no movement so still the same despite exercise & being good.

Off to the shops soon for the weekly shop, i can't wait for berries & cream.

Ifeelfat · 15/06/2020 11:25

NumbsMet yes definitely interested please, that’s the sort of reliability I’m after.

Takingontheworld · 15/06/2020 11:45

1lb down for me despite the wine and extra nibbling.

The pp who says another 5lb down. May I ask how much weight you are hoping to lose total? I've 6st or a little less if we were being very ambitious so will admit to thinking I'd have bigger losses weekly in the early weeks.

venusandmars · 15/06/2020 11:47

Stayed the same, so continuing with normal boot camp, at least until the weekend.

creamy coffee, although I might start dropping those...
L - red pepper and tomato soup, cheese
D - cauliflower (and courgette and green beans) cheese, with crispy pancetta

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 15/06/2020 12:02

Down 1.6lbs to 9 stone 10. Slow and steady continuing.

Better still I've lost 5 inches off my waist and 3 inches off my stomach (since February).

This WOE means I'm not hungry and eat food I enjoy so it works well.

BUT I can't believe it's mid June and I've not had an ice cream this year! I miss treats.

bibliomania · 15/06/2020 12:11

Agree with lost - if you get different readings on scales, the lowest is indisputably correct [bangs gavel]

Linnet · 15/06/2020 12:11

Hi everyone, I have lost 1lb, so that’s 5lbs in total since I started. I had been hoping for more but I’ll keep going. I was hoping to have lost a stone by the time I go back to work but that doesn’t seem likely at the moment.

I did take some measurements last week and today when I measured they are all an inch less, so I’m losing inches which is good.

ShagMeRiggins · 15/06/2020 12:16

@Ifeelfat

shagme you have teenagers awake at that hour? I raise my cup of green tea to you!
I suspect they were all asleep but the two gamers were letting some damned process or a other to run overnight and ‘get more points’ Hmm
NoraEphronsneck · 15/06/2020 12:34

Taking on the world I have about six stone to lose too to put me at a healthy weight/BMI.

I can't believe for one minute I'll ever get there so I'm only focussing on each week as it comes - and don't have a final goal at all.

What I've lost so far is a huge step forward from where I was 3 weeks ago so even if I stopped now I'd still be happy with what I've lost iyswim.

NumbsMet · 15/06/2020 12:40

@ifeelfat the scales are called exzact Bluetooth body scales. They do also connect to your phone, DP has confirmed. I did a quick search on amazon and I can't seem to find it though. I did however find several other very similar models.

Here's one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0798P943F/ref=cmswwrcppapiii_a415EbVVC2ZMD

1WildTeaParty · 15/06/2020 12:41

No sign of loss here on the scales despite a 'good' week ... glad I know about the meaness of the week 3 gods.

I will continue to paddle on - unruffled.

Takingontheworld · 15/06/2020 12:58

Congrats on your losses Nora! Yes one day at a time!

I have scales from Amazon that bluetooth to an app called 'feelfit" which tracks everything

Wormthatturned · 15/06/2020 13:07

Bonjour tout le monde. Not much change to report here but maybe it's my scales (gives a Gallic shrug in line with this week's theme!).
Actually my scales are ancient and random so I have, rather generously/optimistically, recorded this as a 1lb loss on the spreadsheet - mostly to encourage me to keep me on the Koko path. To give added incentive, I've just been to M&S and bought a sale summer dress which is a bit tight around the hips. There's no fitting rooms so you have to take your best guess. The whole place was heaving and I have no intention of returning, so will just have to continue to slim down until it fits.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 15/06/2020 13:20

Here's my MFP tracker. I so nearly gave in when I saw no change in weeks 3/4 but am glad I kept going.

The stall just after, around Easter, was self inflicted though as I fell off the wagon and scoffed a whole Easter egg 😄
