Morning!

Here's what you have all been waiting for!

I love this week, because there are always some fabulous results - and those who really didn't believe it was going to work are always amazed!

OP posts:
MrsGarethSouthgate · 22/10/2019 07:38

Today I will be mainly eatibg:

B: more spinach and mushroom frittata, 2 x Frys smoked vegan hot dogs
L: more broccoli, spinach and stilton soup
D: Fajita in a bowl - quorn pieces sprinkled with crushed dried chilli flakes, green pepper and mushroom, fried in butter, with sour cream and smashed avocado plus a few plum tomatoes in lieu of salsa

And another 4 litres water.

MrsGarethSouthgate · 22/10/2019 07:39

Will chuck some spinach into dinner meal also.

Almahart · 22/10/2019 07:59

Thank you all. Off to work with home made lamb kofta and cauliflower rice for lunch and a snacks breakfast of cheese, hard boiled egg and salad. I had got into a habit between BC of having raspberries and seeds in my yoghurt and find it hard to eat without them now. Because I have been basically cheating this BC I am going to start my strict two weeks from now. No particular bear traps coming up so it should be quite straightforward

I do think there are hormonal charges that might be making it more difficult. When i did BC in 2016 my weight loss was really straightforward. I went to the GP a couple of weeks ago with peri menopausal symptoms (posted on a previous thread) and have been asked to come in to discuss results of hormone tests, so that might be affecting things

Finally - stress. H and I in the same house, he seems to have head in sand, I need to start divorce proceedings. And my male, younger, useless manager has been given an 8% pay rise which I am livid about. Trying to resist childish urge to pass loads of crap up to him that I would usually deal with. So furious about this and thinking about what I need to do to resolve it

8Track · 22/10/2019 08:10

Meal plan for today:
B - yoghurt with a spoon of cream
L - leftover aubergine bhaji
D - crispy chicken thighs, spicy celeriac chips and wilted spinach.

PrimaDonna123 · 22/10/2019 08:17

Got a rare random day off work today so having a chilled start to the day. Breakfast and a coffee in my dressing gown - bliss! Still have to do the school run though so need to get my arse into gear soon though. Got meeting at school then off for a huge dog walk with my friend. This aft I’m off for a pamper that will involve two hours of little movement, which, while lovely, means I might need to lay off the water beforehand.

Today:s plan:

B: yog, cream, orange oil
L: left over pulled pork, avocado, salad leaves, hm mayo
D: salmon in Parma ham, broccoli and asparagus in butter, hm pesto mayo

Might run, might not Grin

BIWitch · 22/10/2019 08:57

Congratulations to your PILs @venusandmars!

@absopugginglutely more veg and more water - and also make sure you're eating plenty of fat

@Almahart uh oh - do you need me to get The Big Stick out?! Seriously though - why do you think you're doing that when you know it's only sabotaging your best efforts? I understand that you're having a horribly stressful time at the moment, but these are the times that we need to look after ourselves even more. I know how easy it is to fall face first into wine/biscuits/cake (delete as applicable!) but it's a false seduction. Unfortunately - if only somebody could make gin good for us

Sorry you're feeling rough @Twit. Hope things get better for you today.

ShagMeRiggins · 22/10/2019 08:58

One pound down. Hmm

WATER!

twinkledag · 22/10/2019 09:14

I'm reading but so busy so don't always have time to post.

4lbs off so pleased with that.

Menu

Scrambled eggs with lardons, almond milk coffee

Chicken wings and salad

Thai red curry and cauli rice

Rshard · 22/10/2019 09:17

Your day sounds lovely primadonna, enjoy!

I’ve just realised I’ve got a new found spring in my step, heading up to the loo (glugging that water) and found myself jogging up them. More energy -
another fab benefit of this woe!

Ketomeato · 22/10/2019 09:30

Morning all.

I fell off the wagon into a panini yesterday. I promise to be good now!!!

7lb gone though!

I am very itchy and spotty - anyone else noticed skin changes?

absopugginglutely · 22/10/2019 09:36

@Ketomeato I started a few weeks ago and was quite itchy on my face for the first week but it subsided. I heard from a Dr friend that it's something to do with withdrawing from sugar.

Rayna37 · 22/10/2019 09:49

Ketomeato I don't think I've ever had carb flu but I definitely get itchier than usual from time to time; "keto itch" is definitely a thing.

MrsGareth when I have fajita in a bowl/on a plate I make seasoning using 1tsp each of chilli powder, paprika, garlic powder, ground cumin and oregano, plus S&P. You can make in bulk and store in a jar. Love it!

Opensesame1 · 22/10/2019 10:13

5lb off! Delighted with that.. yesterday's eating had zero veg.. I know that's totally breaking the rules but I just couldn't manage to choke it down..

B: mozzarella omelette
L: halloumi fried in butter
D: crispy chicken leg with cheddar

Today have had spinach and cheese omelette for breakfast and I will have the remaining chicken leg for lunch with tomato and cheese. For dinner I'm planning a pork chop with cabbage fried in butter and maybe a dash of cream and pepper..

Good morning campers!!

I went for a biiiig walk this morning, feeling very relaxed now. I love autumn time!
B: was a bit of a rush for just had some slices of pork (plenty of fat and some salt on them)
L: will be something with lots of veg to make up for breakfast.. I might do the veg and egg bake thing again.

D: now that my broth is ready I'm going to have a bowl of that with lots of veg and more pork (gonna eye up some Chinese recipes for that, I'm hoping to create something like a ramen bowl, without the ramen Grin )

Summery1 · 22/10/2019 11:37

Morning in bed reading, but I'd better get up now! I'm loving reading everyone's losses and plans.

I had a good few days but then massive fail Saturday evening (completely due to lack of sleep) that I couldn't get out of until Monday.
So 1lb loss, which is ok. I lost and maintained 9lbs last bootcamp. My target would be an 8lb loss this camp, and to learn low carb for long term. I love the stability on this WoE - no high/low. I plan to return to the GP and get my previously high cholesterol rechecked. Losing 17lbs will hopefully have helped even though I've increased my dietary fat. I'm within a healthy BMI and exercise regularly, but it's genetic. Hmm

Today
B: eggs with chees and veg.
WATER.
L:
Unknown. I need to shop.

Laters..

Nonononon · 22/10/2019 13:11

I have just had the most delicious thing I have ever eaten for lunch. Hands down the best thing ever. If I'm ever on death row and get a last meal. Make me this.
Started off making a stir fry (didn't have the correct veg for the egg bake thing)
Broccoli
Leeks
Kale
Mushrooms
Garlic cloves
Roast pork
Fried in butter, I added some salt and pepper seasoning, soy sauce and some ground ginger.. then I added 3 ladle spoons full of the fresh bone broth.. OMG Shock
I didn't want it to end.
I'm making it again for dinner tonight it was that good.
So that's it settled. I'm a bone broth convert and ill make it every week for the rest of my life.
Sorry for all the gushing but thats the first time I've made it and had no idea it would be so delicious. Shock

Glenthebattleostrich · 22/10/2019 13:31

Afternoon all

I have PMT and cramps. I want all of the carbs ever made. Not giving in bit I want them and there's a good chance i may bite someone before the day is done.

I know we aren't supposed to do substitutes and stuff this early but if I hadn't had something that felt carby I'd have cried at lunch time ☹️👿

Food -

B FF Greek yogurt
L Lo dough fried in butter and filled with mushrooms, cheeses and prosciutto ham
D will be pork belly with spinach and green beans cooked in butter.
S pork scratchings and tea with cream.

I've already had 2 l of water, will get the third down this afternoon.

Cauliflowerpower · 22/10/2019 14:16

@PrimaDonna123 WOW your day sounds amazing. ENJOY every minute.

@Summery1 - your morning sounds lovely too. I'd love to spend a morning in my empty house reading... in the quiet.. alone... Sigh... one day!!! (then I'm sure I'll complain)

@Nonononon that sounds really yummy.... I want that now.

So I added a glug of cajun seasoning to my soup and it was entirely better. I had such a lot though I've only had about half. I got bored halfway.

b - Smoked Sausage
l - Soup and chicken salad
D - Lamb Kofta - with cauliflower rice...

I think I need a talking to or a sticking.... I knew I'd bought plenty of food with me today, however I've actually brought obscene amounts. Just because I can doesn't mean I should. Literally have half my soup left a quarter of my salad and a tub with loads of celery, pate and boursin in case I need a snack. Breakfast was nearly and entire Polish smoked sausage (huge) which I ate only about a 1/3 of. Whats going on in my fat head... no wonder I'm the size of a small cottage. When I get home I will adjust the portions according to what I ate today instead of with greedy head on.

In other news I'm smashing through the water today!

KOKO everyone.

StabMeReapers · 22/10/2019 14:30

Lovely to read everyone’s posts and I wish I could reply to all but wanted a quick shout out to Almahart—I know it’s tough and am thinking of you.

I’m hanging in there, no deviation from plan but not losing much weight. To be honest, I think it’s stress, and I really hope the exercise starts to make a difference. The body shape (and face!) changing massively, just those pesky numbers on the scale.

Half term here so focusing on keeping the teenagers alive. Guess what? They’re all eating a FLGV, either fried in butter or roasted in olive oil. Ha ha ha...

WATER! PLANNING! WATER!

MrsTerryPratchett · 22/10/2019 14:32

@cauliflowerpower food is like condoms, better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it Grin

Thin people order/bring lots of food and eat a little. We can too. I remember seeing women in Paris ordering une grande assiette de fromage and having a couple of bites. Or a massive pasty and having one bit. That's thin person behaviour.

StabMeReapers · 22/10/2019 14:39

Cauliflowerpower it sounds as though the portions you eat are fine. Congratulate yourself for stopping eating rather than beating yourself up for packing too much.

It takes a while to adjust to lack of hunger. Sometimes we’re so accustomed to really inappropriate portion sizes that we can’t envision a world where 1/3 sausage fills us up.

For me, variety is key. I’d rather have a little bit of everything in a meal rather than a massive bowl of anything, no matter how delicious. Which is why pasta as a main dish is often disappointing. Delicious, maybe, but the same flavours over and over.

Perhaps in the past, when you’ve been eating low fat and high carb, hunger has come upon you unexpectedly and you’ve panicked? Hence over-buying for today.

Either way—and sorry for over-analysing you, what a dick move—you’ve eaten what you needed and you smashed the water. So there ya go. Wink

BIWitch · 22/10/2019 15:10

@Cauliflowerpower sounds like you're doing a pretty job with your own Big Stick!

Nonononon · 22/10/2019 16:01

Well it's happened.. I'm finally turning grey (hair) and I'm excited about it!
Bout time too as I turn 34 at the end if this month so it's held off until then at least.
I've been noticing that my (usually dark brown) hair has been getting lighter streaks in it for a while and it looks like those streaks are actually just turning grey, I found loads this afternoon whilst plucking my chin all over my head so it looks like my hair will just fade to grey over time rather than grow in from the roots.
I've never dyed it and don't intend to start. I wonder how long it'll take before I start looking like a gorgeous ice queen? 🤔

Sorry for posting but I'm excited and just had to share haha.

BIWitch · 22/10/2019 16:08

Blimey! You can swap with me if you like - I hare, hate, hate going grey. It makes me look really tired and run down (and therefore my age). Costs me a fortune in hairdressing bills too Angry
