Morning!

Here's what you have all been waiting for!

I love this week, because there are always some fabulous results - and those who really didn't believe it was going to work are always amazed!

OP posts:

Morning all! Had a bit of a lapse last night with a glass of white, but I'm sort of BC Light Lighting anyway. And a sneaky weigh in this morning shows a loss since Monday of a whisker under 5lbs, so I'll take that! Hoping to stay in control over the weekend to see at least that on Monday morning.

NSV yesterday too, in that my Fat Jeans (sainsburys, cheap, stretchy, cut slightly funny!) were loose round the waist fresh on and loose round the legs. Feel like I'm moving in the right direction!

Food for today:
B coffee with cream, FF Greek yoghurt
L not sure yet. Possibly chopped chicken thigh in mayonnaise in lettuce boats with cucumber
D not quite lasagne - it's premade from before I started, so I shall just pull the pasta out, hope for the best, and serve with a large green salad.
S last of the Halloween cheeses.
Loads of water (it is getting easier, particularly since I take the first 0.5l with soluble vitamin C in it).

How much loss do you think is possible by Christmas? I am currently The Fat Sister and I'm not enjoying it, particularly as my DM is very slight and can't really understand it. I have 3st to lose from starting weight to be a healthy weight and 4st to be a happy weight for me. Clearly this isn't going to happen in 8.5 weeks, but I'd like to think I can at least be overweight rather than obese (10 lbs away from this morning's weight). Do you think that might be possible? I'll always feel huge because my DM and DSis are 3 inches shorter than me, with much smaller ribcages, but it would be great not to feel like The Blob.

prettybird · 26/10/2019 09:26

If you stick at it and keep up the water intake Wink, 10lb is do-able Smile

venusandmars · 26/10/2019 09:36

I'm always lightest when my scales are in the garage and heaviest when they are in the downstairs hallway Confused

Brunch - Cheese, mushroom and spinach omelette
Mid-afternoon dinner - Some kind of pork belly recipe with broccoli, kimchi, and kale chips

Long walk in the autumn woods between the 2 meals.

Notwatchingtvtoday · 26/10/2019 09:38

Yes definitely doable, I lost just under 10lbs on the last boot camp and had a holiday in the middle. Key things for me are planning meals and drinking water, that said off to drink a glass 😀

KondoKonvert · 26/10/2019 09:44

@IWillWearTheGreenWillow obvs it depends on your starting weight etc, but I started at the end of August and I'm nearly two stone down. Def doable!

Justmuddlingalong · 26/10/2019 10:02

I'm a few weeks ahead of this bootcamp and had a bit of a stall. But, had a whoosh this morning and am 3lbs down since Monday. It can be disheartening when the scales don't budge, but even if the numbers are a bit up, down or samey, as long as they're generally going down, who cares. Don't fall into the self sabotaging biscuit tin when you feel disheartened. KOKO losers!

MrsGarethSouthgate · 26/10/2019 11:31

Yesterday was:
B: full fat Greek yoghurt with milled flax seeds and a few raspberries plus double cream
L: leftover Fajita in a bowl with avocado and sour cream
D: buttered Lo Dough, quorn ham slices and piece of Cornish Brie.

And 5.6 litres of water plus 3 green teas.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 26/10/2019 11:32

Blimey, new low this morning - seem to have had a bit of a whoosh, taking me down to 9st 11lb and giving me a BMI of 20!!

I've never weighed this little as an adult. ShockShockGrin

MrsGarethSouthgate · 26/10/2019 11:34

Going to make the Jamie Oliver mushroom curry today (thanks to the recommendation from venue and mars) and will add in a load of spinach also.

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 26/10/2019 12:43

Fantastic Greebo!! That's amazing, bet you go around grinning all day Grin you should anyway!

Period from hell here, they're usually better on this WOE for me. Feeling very sorry for myself, but will not give in to my usual carb- munchies. So there!

SittingontheSidelines · 26/10/2019 12:46

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal that's fantastic. And your reward for KOKO.

8Track · 26/10/2019 12:47

Wow Greebo and Just - fabulous work!! I'm 81.3kg this am, have been remarkably consistent all week. Still no period, bizarre as I felt very PMTish last weekend.

Hips (and round my tum!) appears to be down 4cm!! And waist by 2cm so all good.

Looking forward to a day of recipe planning and advance cooking.

Justmuddlingalong · 26/10/2019 13:43

Just been out and bought new bras. My current ones make my boob department resemble golf balls swinging in rugby socks. Oooh the difference a new bra makes.

Exitstrategist · 26/10/2019 14:20

Hi- doing a cheese board next Saturday and four of us are low carbing. What can I use instead of cheese biscuits? Seaweed crackers?

Justmuddlingalong · 26/10/2019 14:22

I use cucumber slices.

prettybird · 26/10/2019 15:11

I really didn't like seaweed crackers Sad

As well as cucumber, you could make crackers from grated cheese (cheddar, Parmesan or a quarter babybel) baked or microwaved (cheese on cheese Wink).

If it's next Saturday, Boot Camp Light opens up more possibilities - have a look at the veggie recipe thread Smile

Nonononon · 26/10/2019 15:34

Afternoon!
Well done on those losses, its an amazing feeling!
B: omelette with cheese and I had some cucumber with patè on the side (Halloween Hmm)
L: tuna mayo and a whole bag of salad leaves with a little feta on top.
D: currently have some belly pork in the slow cooker so will roast that up with some soy and garlic later. Will have with lots of veg (I'm thinking roast courgette and some buttery kale.. and leeks!)

BIWitch · 26/10/2019 16:29

If I have cheese, I just have it on its own!

But celery is good to provide some crunch.

I think there's a recipe on the vegetarian thread for some low carb crackers, if you feel the need!

VeryLittleOwl · 26/10/2019 16:30

Ooh, fab losses, great to see!

B: yoghurt
L: broccoli and blue cheese soup
S: chicken salad

prettybird · 26/10/2019 16:59

Unfortunately I don't like celery Sad yet I like celeriac Confused - but I do like cheese on its own a little too much WinkBlush

I've also read people suggesting doing a really thin fathead pizza base and then cutting that into pieces to make crackers Smile

MrsGarethSouthgate · 26/10/2019 17:06

@prettybird What about making some celeriac 'crisps' to serve the cheese on then? Sliced thin (but not too thin), then fried until golden, and finished off in oven on dry baking tray to crisp up?

MrsGarethSouthgate · 26/10/2019 17:07

Disclaimer: have never tried it but if feels like it should work Grin

MsTSwift · 26/10/2019 17:13

Told on 8 Oct at routine health check that am officially overweight as bmi 27 eek. Been brutal ever since lost 6 lb got to continue a stone to lose. Skipping meals binned carbs and all snacks and going in dh turbo an hour a day. On a mission horrified at being overweight was slim when young and think of myself as slim

MrsGarethSouthgate · 26/10/2019 17:16

Brunch: 2 Portobello mushrooms roasted in olive oil, topped with butter-fried spinach, quorn bacon and 2 eggs scrambled with a modest amount of grated cheese and splash of cream.

D: The aforementioned Jamie Oliver mushroom curry to which I added a load of spinach, and fried the cauliflower rice in butter before mixing it in. Was delicious.

I have also made some of this mushroom soup for lunch next week (made 3 x 365ml portions), using double cream instead of creme fraiche and also adding the obligatory fuck-ton of raw spinach at blending stage. Is also delicious, and every bit as good as expensive fresh soup in my humble opinion Grin

Posting for a bit of a cheer up, feeling a bit low and wibbly today - close relative in final stages of lewi body dementia and the greyness of the world has built up on me.

So, comfort food!! Got some stewing steak, mushrooms, leeks, shallots, broccoli and my favourite casserole dish so shall have a beef stew kinda thing. In my lovely spanish cooking book they have a recipe that adds a splash of vinegar, I might try this. With celeriac mash I think, although I have a swede as well but DP is not keen.

I have been reading some old BC threads for happiness today, and been sent giggling by a wonderful autocorrect of a celeriac and swede layered dish into "mixed dolphin pose"!! The name has stuck...I may try a dolphin pose while I'm cooking away, bound to make me feel productive and satisfied to busy myself for a bit.
