Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - at last the finishing line!

BIWI · 22/07/2019 08:23

Isn't 10 weeks a long time!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here one last time

Although this is the last official weigh-in, this thread will stay up for general chat/support until the next Bootcamp - probably in October.

I hope everyone has a good 'final' result.

Every Bootcamp is different, but this one has, I have to say, been remarkably well behaved Grin. I've lost the Big Stick somewhere in the back of a cupboard!

While I know you're all here and reading because I know people don't read all the posts if you want to take the opportunity to meet @ShagMeRiggins (and me) for a lighthearted Bootcamp style & beauty event probably with gin thrown in for good measure send me a PM!

Down a pound again this week AND perhaps half an inch round the waist.

I can now (just) button up the waist part of a dress I wore before having my first child :). It will be a while before I can wear it without extreme risk (of button-fire) to those around me but I'm very pleased. This is progress.

venusandmars · 29/08/2019 16:09

I sometimes make hot chocolate, with half butter, half coconut oil (plus organic raw cocoa). That is a great combination. The coconut makes it taste sweet and nutty. Of course the cocoa has a little bit of carbs in it.

It's good as a winter treat, but I sometimes put it in the fridge and eat it cold too.

SittingontheSidelines · 29/08/2019 20:08

I've done 2 full days, surely should be a size 10 by now? Grin

@1Wildheartsease congratulations on the lack of button fire

Lunch home made Mediterranean vegetable soup and some roasted sprouts.

Dinner spiced prawns, avacado, mushrooms, green veg and Greek yogurt.

SittingontheSidelines · 29/08/2019 20:09

The first sentence should be highlighted. I appear to have forgotten how to do that.

princessbear80 · 29/08/2019 21:59

Third day complete and I feel positive I can stick to this!

Logging my food:
B 2 boiled eggs and tomatoes
L cheese salad
D stir fry veg and prawns, Greek yoghurt

1Wildheartsease · 29/08/2019 22:53

Bullet-proof coffee and boiled eggs
water

Babybel cheese and smoked mackerel
water

Broccoli and string beans baked in olive oil + parmesan, Slow cooker duck legs with shallot and bacon sauce
rosehip tea and water

I don't think the buttons would have done up again after all this :)

Rshard · 30/08/2019 08:21

Enjoyed being back on track yesterday and ready for today.

The roast veg; broccoli, beans, cauliflower sound delicious. How long do people roast them for? Not that I’ve managed to get hold of a cauliflower - so a little jealous of brassica right now!

1Wildheartsease · 30/08/2019 12:46

Roast veg are lovely @Rshard.

Yesterday's string-beans were chopped then coated in olive-oil/salt/parmesan and baked at 200 degrees (fan oven) . They were just cooked (soft) after 15 mins but I prefer them crispy (25 mins). It does depend on the size - so keep an eye on them.

Tenderstem broccoli coated in olive oil and salt is crispy after 15 mins (at 200C in my oven).

Rshard · 30/08/2019 18:42

Thanks 1wdheartsease, I will definitely try. I did manage to buy a cauliflower flower today - win!

princessbear80 · 30/08/2019 20:28

You’ve reminded me how much I like roast cauliflower- I’m adding it to my shopping list.

Day 4 completed, still haven’t been shopping but managing somehow!

B + L both egg salads!
D meatballs with courgettes and grated cheddar
Probably haven’t had enough water today so need to drink loads before bed.

I’m so glad I haven’t cracked and bought biscuits just for no reason other than it’s Friday which is usually all the excuse I need!

Rshard · 30/08/2019 20:41

Well done for avoiding the biscuits princessbear!

B - scrambled eggs, avo
L - omelette with cheese and tiny bit of chopped tomato (grown by moi)
D - lc sausages, cauliflower and broccoli

Dd now swims on a Friday so no wine tonight as was picking her up - this is unheard of but feeling quite virtuous!

SittingontheSidelines · 30/08/2019 21:33

Lunch egg and cheese salad.

Dinner two bowls of home made chicken and vegetable soup

princessbear80 · 30/08/2019 22:23

And well done on the no wine rshard!

Mimosa1 · 31/08/2019 09:20

Morning all. I've just started LCB after ballooning over an indulgent 6m. Aargh aaargh aaargh. I'd done so well in previous boot camps but went back to my carb laden way of eating so I shouldn't be too surprised it's all gone back on and more FFS. ANYWAY, I've done day 2, and so has DH, which will make things easier, and we're doing ok. I wa sespecially glad to see @princessbear80 and @Cauliflowerpower have just started as well. Down 700g already - this works.

OopsBird · 31/08/2019 13:00

So just finished one whole week on low carb and have lost 6 pounds! Feel like it could have been more as I was still drinking wine. Well done @Rshard, need to learn how you do it! Anyway, onwards and downwards!

Rshard · 31/08/2019 13:24

Thanks for the no wine congrats! oopsbird - purely down to the fact that dd swam last night so we weren’t home until 8:30 and then again this morning, which meant we were out at 4:40 so there was no way I wanted to have even one glass of wine with such an early start. Well done on those 6lbs, this is a great woe isn’t it?

I remember you from earlier boot camps mimosa, welcome back.

OopsBird · 31/08/2019 14:02

Yes I see that @Rshard. We usually have a take away on a Friday so felt I couldn't do without my treat. So had wine and one of those carb killer bars Confused

Mimosa1 · 31/08/2019 15:28

Thanks @Rshard. I remember you too! What is your secret for sticking to it? I really would be grateful for any tips.

princessbear80 · 31/08/2019 16:17

Waves to@Mimosa1! Glad to have another new starter and @Cauliflowerpower too

Food today

Late breakfast- ham, egg and courgette
Only eating lunch now - leftover meatballs with courgette and grated cheese
Dinner - who knows - I doubt I’ll be hungry before bed
Loads of water!

SittingontheSidelines · 31/08/2019 19:07

Lunch cheese and olives and cherry tomatoes.

Dinner. Salmon, roast Parmesan cauliflower, roast radishes and green beans.

YUM.

venusandmars · 31/08/2019 20:22

Weekend, 2 meals only:

B/L - sausage, creamy dreamy scrambled egg

D - Courgetti with smoked salmon, cream, veg, veg, veg

YesQueen · 31/08/2019 22:24

Going to make the cauliflower cheese that @BIWI posted a bit ago tomorrow, with some garlic and herb chicken
Sainsbury's delivery also arriving tomorrow (they gave me a £18 off £50 voucher so shopped online to use it!)
I really like their courgette noodles, cabbage and leek bags and the green veg medley for easy quick food
Not eaten much today and am now hungry so boiling up a load of eggs for the next few days, going to have a couple with some mayo

SummerSazz · 31/08/2019 22:30

Typed a long post and lost it. Grrr

Well done losers 😂

I'm on day 5, 3lb down, no alcohol for 6 days and did a 5k run today.

Just need to keep it up.......

1Wildheartsease · 01/09/2019 00:42

Well done on the great losses Smile

Rshard · 01/09/2019 07:09

I’ve hung around but it really stayed on it to be honest mimosa, so I’m losing a few re-gained pounds at the moment!

Great loss summersazz!
