Summer Low Carb Bootcamp - at last the finishing line!

Isn't 10 weeks a long time!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here one last time

Although this is the last official weigh-in, this thread will stay up for general chat/support until the next Bootcamp - probably in October.

I hope everyone has a good 'final' result.

Every Bootcamp is different, but this one has, I have to say, been remarkably well behaved Grin. I've lost the Big Stick somewhere in the back of a cupboard!

While I know you're all here and reading because I know people don't read all the posts if you want to take the opportunity to meet @ShagMeRiggins (and me) for a lighthearted Bootcamp style & beauty event probably with gin thrown in for good measure send me a PM!

Notjust one of them is a blouse I bought just before BC - I just ordered the next size down!

I’ve been really wrestling with alcohol again this week. I’ve been out every night cos kids away. Had three glasses of really not nice white wine on Tuesday, two nice ones on Wednesday and three again on Thursday. Then half a bottle st home last night.

Obviously I’m not going to lose any weight while doing that. And I am wiped out every morning. And finally, I didn’t pay for all those drinks but I did pay altogether about £60. What a waste of money

tea69 · 03/08/2019 09:33

Please can I confess on here to not doing well then draw a line and move on?

Really struggling but do want to lose weight. Need help and support.

Started the day with a lc fry up and almond milk coffee.

Day 1 again.

NigellaAwesome · 03/08/2019 09:33

@YesQueen in terms of carb count this would be ok in moderation, but it will be full of artificial sweeteners which can cause inflammation. There is also the matter of trying to retrain our tastebuds away from sweet food.

NigellaAwesome · 03/08/2019 09:36

@tea69 at least you have come on here and asked for help. What are your food plans for the rest of the day? Can you identify why you went off the rails? Not enough planning, not enough water, emotional eating are my main culprits.

Once you identify the issue it might be easier to get back on track.

Notwatchingtvtoday · 03/08/2019 10:01

Hi all
What has really helped me in bc is to have a plan in writing on here of my food for the day, so here goes

B total Greek yogurt, 1 tsp of double cream, 1 teaspoon of Linwood flax seed mix and 2 crumbed frozen raspberries
2 coffees with butter and 1 cup of tea with milk
L eggs and salad, homemade coleslaw
D roast lamb, green beans with butter, celaric chips, sautéed courgettes

Snack Rolitis from M&S if needed
2 and 1/2 litres of water and coffee with butter if needed, herbal teas

Notwatchingtvtoday · 03/08/2019 10:02

I think the writing it down, ensures I focus on planning and helps me stick to it . I have noticed other foods creeping in whilst not doing this so am going to go back to the process that worked

starsky22 · 03/08/2019 18:01

Went out for dinner on Wednesday had burger and chips followed by an ice-cream sundae, unsurprisingly was up 2lbs the next morning! Got back on track the next day though and back to where I was on Monday weight wise, really need to stick with it this weekend though if I want to be under 10st before we go on holiday next Friday.

Today I had sausage, bacon fried egg and mushrooms and a latte for brunch and just water since then. Having chicken, broccoli and cashew stirfry for dinner, followed by more water!

venusandmars · 03/08/2019 20:06

I agree about writing my meal plans on here every morning. It helps me plan, makes the eat it / don't eat it decisions easier throughout the day, and keeps me feeling accountable even though no-one really cares what I eat

I notice that in the early weeks of BC most people are posting their daily menus (which I find inspiring and full of good ideas) but then as the weeks go on it tails off and it is at that point that the posts start to 'slip' in terms of people going off plan. Maybe (for those whom it helps) we could commit to posting our food diaries every day for the full 10 weeks...

Had creamed scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast / brunch, but had visitors so there were warm croissants too, and the smell got to me. I had one. I don't know why, I didn't even enjoy it. It's another one of those things that smells better than it ever tastes - true of bread in general, I think.

Seafood salad for tea - salmon, prawns, lots of mayonnaise.

tea69 · 03/08/2019 20:13

@NigellaAwesome - my problem is I want to lose weight but I don't want to put any effort into doing it. Bad I know but that's the way I feel!

Today I ate -

Egg, bacon, tomato, sausage, almond milk coffee

A burger without bun, 20 cashews and some cucumber sticks

Dinner was chicken curry with cauliflower rice

I also had some dark chocolate.

Went for a walk after dinner.

Could be better I know. Planning tomorrow's meals now.

I really want to make a dent in my weight over the next two weeks as I am on annual leave from work so can't use work as an excuse!

prettybird · 03/08/2019 21:33

tea69 - I also posted when I didn't want to when I was beginning to slip off the wagon and lose focus.

I'm not saying I'm 100% back on track Blush - but I was "only" 3/4lb up from my lowest this morning Smile (and that's without doing my exercises today as I don't do them at weekends and I drop half a pound after them )

I've done well water today as I spent the day at the rugby club (watching ds play his 1st senior game) and didn't want any alcohol. I have however shared a bottle of wine tonight with dh, to go with the roast chicken I'd cooked.

Tomorrow night is cold roast chicken, which I'll serve with tzatziki (made from home grown cucumber) and home grown salad.

tea69 · 03/08/2019 22:01

Well done for getting back to it, @prettybird 👍

SittingontheSidelines · 03/08/2019 22:31

I agree about the meal posting @venusandmars. It really helps me to keep on track and I love reading others peoples meals even if mine are a little boring so you've inspired me to go back to daily posting
Breakfast fasting
Pre lunch mug of warm almond milk
Lunch boiled eggs and celery
Dinner pork chop and roast green beans and asparagus followed by Fage Greek yogurt and cherries. I know cherries aren't allowed but it's a very short season and I didn't have many and they are delicious.

StuntNun · 04/08/2019 06:44

Watch out for cashews Tea69 they're really carby.

venusandmars · 04/08/2019 07:41

So encouraging me self back to good habits by posting my food choices.

B - boiled eggs mashed with butter, butter coffee
L - salad with avocado and salmon pate (home made with salmon and Yogurt)
D - out, but have looked at the menu and the choice is easy, there's only 2 dishes I can have. So it will be anjo chicken with spiced cauliflower and garlic spinach. Will not have the fries and will try to swap them for some broccoli.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 04/08/2019 08:58

Last show today!! Sad

Went wildly off plan last night - was very hungover (we had a party after our last evening show on Friday) and ordered a take away curry with all the trimmings - including rice and naan. Not as bad as it could've been as it was the only meal I had all day - too close to vomming to eat earlier in the day!

Back on it today, I bought a pair of size 10 jeans the other day which were a wee bit tight, so need to get into them before I go on holiday in 10 days.

YesQueen · 04/08/2019 11:59

Managed to get to M&S today and grabbed a meatzza and some of the ham/cheese rolls plus some nice looking deli meats Smile

BrassicaBabe · 04/08/2019 19:28

I am an arse.

Back at goal weight for the first time in a age last week. Yesterday a little carb creep via sausages at a family bbq but didn't eat any bread, crisps or desert. Overall I did well.

Today one choc digestive turned into 3. Then a 1kg bag of wine gums turned up for free in a stationary order. One turned into "my body weight" in sweets. Finally a bbq at home I finished off eating a tortilla wrap.

Twunt! Hmm

SittingontheSidelines · 04/08/2019 19:50

Lunch boiled eggs and salad veg

Dinner spiced burger with cheese and mustard. Fried mushroom and massive salad.

tea69 · 04/08/2019 20:30

I still think I'm eating too much so need to look at that...

Breakfast - sausages, eggs, almond milk coffee
Lunch - chicken soup and cashews
Dinner - chicken curry and cauliflower rice
Snack - dark chocolate and a Starbucks almond milk flat white

SittingontheSidelines · 05/08/2019 08:33

Good morning all. Is the spreadsheet still running? I saw it was still up so posted a five pound loss (over the last fortnight) making it 14 pounds since the beginning of boot camp but it was showing a twelve pound total loss. Anyway, it's been a long time coming but that's my first stone gone so feeling very pleased with myself.

SittingontheSidelines · 05/08/2019 10:22

Oh and my plan for today is

Lunch a portable salad with boiled eggs
Dinner 2 low carb sausages, eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes. (Maybe some salad leaves ) and
Water water water.

Morning all, today’s plan

B Greek yogurt
L chicken and salad
D chicken and roasted veg

Water and coffee

Almahart · 05/08/2019 14:09

I haven’t actually lost weight on the scales but the only jeans I could fit into when I stated bc are now definitely too big

1Wildheartsease · 05/08/2019 16:24

Some of you look to be doing well despite all temptations!

I've been stuck for a while and am wondering about trying MM's fast 800. The recipes look a little more carby than ours and I am a bit wary of going back to calorie counting.

However it might give me a push and help me get ready for our next boot camp. I think I am overdoing the dairy - it has gradually become my crutch. Perhaps a few new meal plans might help.
