Starting tomorrow's thread early as I'm not around in the morning

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So far there seem to be some great results already, so I'm hoping they've continued over the weekend.

I love this week because the first weigh-ins are often spectacular, but also all those who were less than convinced are amazed how much they've lost!

It really sounds to me like people have really got to grips with this WOE, which is fantastic.

Here's to you all, and wishing you a good result on the scales tomorrow. (Or with the tape measure or the clothes you're trying on, if that's your preferred method of monitoring progress!)

Ahhhh!!!! The thread moved fast while I was typing my post!!!

The weight loses this week!!! Amazing!!! And toots well well done on your milestone!!!!

18pagesfrontandback · 20/05/2019 10:50

That’s what boot camp is for! Stay here, keep posting and reading and we will all motivate each other. We all have a common goal - to succeed!

And back to AF Grin I haven’t had a pedicure before, just dreaming of a future where I can get my feet out in public Grin

18pagesfrontandback · 20/05/2019 10:50

To Thewaiting ^

TheWaiting · 20/05/2019 10:57

👍 Something to look forward to. Make sure your GP takes you seriously.

LeapinLizards · 20/05/2019 10:59

I've stayed the same but this is week 3 for me (started early) so it's stall week.

Love reading about the successes esp youwannapizzame which is mind-boggling. What an amazing loss!

m0therofdragons · 20/05/2019 11:00

@TheWaiting just imagine it's only boot camp then decide at the end whether to carry on or not. I started the January boot camp after success last May, completely failing to get in the mindset for October so weight went back. January was a turning point for me so I've now started this boot camp at a healthy bmi but aiming for my target/dream weight. Imagine you being in that position! If you stick to this woe it genuinely could be!

I used to be so jealous of those on boot camp weighing 10st.

StuntNun · 20/05/2019 11:01

I forgot to weigh in again! Never mind, I'll just KOKO.

Eatenalltheeastereggs · 20/05/2019 11:04

4 pounds off for me:
Week 1: 14st 3
Week 2: 13st 12
Pleased with that although I usually lose 6-8 pounds in 1st week of weight loss but I’m older, gallbladder playing up etc. so weight won’t probably shift as before. Found the weekend very hard and whilst I resisted the roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds and chocolate mousse I did have about a heaped tablespoon of stuffing and some bisto gravy with my roast chicken. Loads of veg too inc. mountains of cabbage, broccoli and a carrot. Did have a 10g piece of 85% chocolate which I’m going to try to avoid this week as I know it’s too soon to allow myself such an indulgence.

Well done everyone else. The first week is over and already our bodies are adjusting. Some are more resistant than others but we just have to keep nudging along.

blackteaplease · 20/05/2019 11:05

@Thewaiting set yourself some mini goals to work towards along the way to keep on track when the scales don't show anything. That and the support on here will see you right.

Summery1 · 20/05/2019 11:05

3.5lb loss so that is fantastic for me!!

I've gone from 11st13 to 11st9.5. 11 and a half stone seems very close!! I do still fancy a slice of toast and butter - but I don't fancy carrying it around on my hips after so 'no thanks'.

BIWI I asked about Arrabiata sauce - I thought tomatoes were allowed, and olives.

I find this WoE very manageable - eggs in some combination for breakfast (today with fzn spinach and feta), protein with salad for lunch, ditto for dinner but maybe hot veg. Butter or mayo or olive oil for cooking and or sauce. I'm not bored yet and it works easily for eating out too.

Thanks BIWI, I find your rules great (aside from one mishap with nuts
)

m0therofdragons · 20/05/2019 11:07

@Summery1 someone is making toast in my office! I'm not impressed Angry

Mandelinka · 20/05/2019 11:20

2 lbs down, happy with that.
10 more to go before reaching my target.

I know it could’ve been a pound or two more, my water intake dropped over the weekend ( spend the weekend in the countryside driving heaps) and also had a celebratory glass of rose for my husband ‘s bday.
We really needed this family weekend away as there’s been lot of stress/illness last few months and the ‘cheating’ was well with it.

Back on track now, drinking lots, pot of soup (leek, celery, kale, carrot) bubbling on the stove, planning to have some bbq lamb chops later.

Well done all and KOKO!

Flyingsouthwiththeswallows · 20/05/2019 11:21

1.4lb for me. Not amazing but then I haven’t been perfect.

Will start week 2 with even greater determination than week 1.

Hope you all have a great week

IStillMissBlockbuster · 20/05/2019 11:22

I've got no idea what my goal weight is. How do you decide? I started boot camp when I started creeping up and over the 11 stone mark. I'm 5 foot 9.5 and have hovered around 10 stone 10 for years. Prior to my wedding 8 years ago I got down to 10.3 and I look pretty dang good at under 10.5 if I do say so myself but I'm not sure how sustainable that is under normal eating conditions. Healthy BMI for my height is 8.13 - 12 stone but I do not look or feel good above 11 and I can't remember the last time I was under 10. This is probably not a question anyone can give me an answer to, but how do you choose your goal weight?

Ninkaninus · 20/05/2019 11:26

My goal weight is where I’m reasonably happy with how I look in the kind of clothing I like to wear. I was very slim when I was young so my absolutely ideal weight is to be back to that, but I’m not willing to be as restrictive as I would need to be for that (it was effortless when I was young, sigh), so I compromise.

I’m happy as long as I can wear a size 10-12.

nixpix · 20/05/2019 11:29

I weighed myself this morning, 11st10 down to 11st05, a loss of five pounds which I'm amazed by. Haven't felt like I've starved myself or even really been on a diet. Have drunk loads of water though .Really motivated to keep going!

18pagesfrontandback · 20/05/2019 11:31

Here’s an idea for motivation. Might provide a bit of the visual impact missing from not seeing numbers on scales...

Rather than just measure yourself or see how your clothes feel, why not take an item you know to be a bit snug, take a photo of yourself in the mirror in it (for me I’m picturing my tum folded up into the waistband of a too tight pair of jeans). Then the next week, take another photo in same item and compare. Do this weekly. Might help to give your eyes/brain that visual reward you want to see on scales as your body shrinks within the clothing.

Think I’m going to try this myself. I haven’t measured anything so far, and as much as I know things fit me differently, and that I’ve shrunk, it’s easy to quickly forget just how much and to keep moving the goal post.
I love reading progress threads online with before and after pics for this sort of motivation.

18pagesfrontandback · 20/05/2019 11:35

^ that seemingly random suggestion was to earlier chat about staying motivated Grin

tootstastic · 20/05/2019 11:37

Waves back @m0therofdragons 🖐🏻 I get the seeing a fat lady in the mirror thing, I was never satisfied before, even when I weighed 9 stone something. You're so close to target, definitely work on the mindset thing. I need to do that too as the weight comes off. I was thinking of looking for a counsellor specialising in eating disorders.

Thanks @18pagesfrontandback yes it does feel good, but I'm only about halfway, so KOKO for me. Fingers crossed you're able to clear your AF.

Ninkaninus · 20/05/2019 11:38

I agree that’s a really good strategy. I’d be brave and take in bra and trousers or skirt, so that you get a proper visual of the changes to your arms/bust/waist.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 20/05/2019 11:39

@IStillMissBlockbuster , what @Ninkaninus and @18pagesfrontandback said - I go by clothes and also take the pictures. I did it with ski trousers last year in the Jan boot camp - I went from having a large gap at the from where I couldn't do them up, to doing them up without a muffin top.

I think it is hard to go by BMI etc as we are all so different and carry weight in different places/ways. For example, I am only 5'2" but I comfortably fit into size 10s when I am around the 140lb/10 stone mark. There are others who at my height would need to be a stone or more lighter.

BrassicaBabe · 20/05/2019 11:46

Some amazing losses. Well done everyone!

Personally it's been a bad week for me. Stuck to LC but emo snacking. I'm close to goal so this is enough to throw me off.

Off to Germany until Thursday for work. So this means hotel picnic of olives, sliced cheese and salami for me Grin But no where to run so that's a spanner in the works again Sad

NigellaAwesome · 20/05/2019 11:48

Brilliant losses everyone! I lost 2 pounds, which I'm pleased about since I only started on Saturday, and recently the trend has only been the other way. Ketostix showing mild ketosis which I'm happy about.

I bought a water bottle in Lidl a couple of weeks ago which has an inner core for putting fruit in it. Not sure if berries would meet bootcamp rules, but I might alternate cucumber slices and lemon slices.

I'm off work at the minute, so I need to spend some time of self care. Will try doing yoga or tai chi later.

Cooking Bolognese today.

m0therofdragons · 20/05/2019 12:06

I'm really hoping my lunch fills me up, I'm hungry which is really rare for me on the woe.

Halloumi, bacon, pepper and onion on a bed of baby spinach (I serve everything on a bed of spinach Grin)

Youwanapizzame · 20/05/2019 12:08

@18pagesfrontandback it's a great idea to have a year of self focus! I'm kind of doing this too. I've started with some new face products (instead of soap water and a smear of nivea) I've got some very scientific anti ageing products from the ordinary, I'm trying to walk more and now I'm adding losing weight! It's been all baby focused until recently and now it's me time! It feels weird but good!
