Starting tomorrow's thread early as I'm not around in the morning

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So far there seem to be some great results already, so I'm hoping they've continued over the weekend.

I love this week because the first weigh-ins are often spectacular, but also all those who were less than convinced are amazed how much they've lost!

It really sounds to me like people have really got to grips with this WOE, which is fantastic.

Here's to you all, and wishing you a good result on the scales tomorrow. (Or with the tape measure or the clothes you're trying on, if that's your preferred method of monitoring progress!)

Hmm, following BIWI's home truths with a C- grade for my day of food. Switched to BC light a day early by allowing myself LCHF porridge (nuts and seeds) and a few raspberries with cream after dinner. Ok with both of these choices and still haven't drunk for over a fortnight which is an unheard-of achievement! I also had one of my homemade Yorkshire puddings with my roast beef and green veg which was, I believe worth it. I will add though I'm definitely a moderator not an abstainer and actually don't react badly to carbs and can tolerate higher amounts while maintaining than many of you.
This does mean I may actually post a gain tomorrow though, I've pretty much hit goal this week (0.2lbs off at my lowest daily weigh) and expect I'll flutter up and down a bit. 2 weeks until my hols and happy to KOKO, would like a bit more off but I'm feeling good possibly a bit over confident
We had a day out at a toddler-friendly farm park and I had 2 boiled eggs, cheese and a cold sausage with some cucumber that I took for lunch, accompanied by a bad cappuccino and a bite of my Mum's sausage roll. Looking forward to a week of good, boot-camp approved food with no guests or eating out planned, I think!

Thanks for your post @Rayna37.

But that has also reminded me that those of you who are long term low carbers or those who are near their target have probably a bit more 'wiggle room' than those who are new to low carbing.

If you're relatively new to low carbing, and your body hasn't become totally adapted to burning fat rather than carbs, you need to be much more vigilant about allowing carbs to creep into your diet.

Hello bcampers Grin

I've missed several Boot camps over the last while Blush but I've kind of been sticking with it anyway.

I would like to try and join in with you and lose some more weight because I'm too fat!

I weighed yesterday at 232lbs so I'll take that as my starting weight.

athelstane can you add my name to the spreadsheet please

MumbleLumble · 26/05/2019 22:37

Went to the pub tonight with no intention of drinking but my friend brought me a gin and slimline tonic so I had a few sips to be polite. I'm quite proud of myself for not drinking the whole thing. Bit of a weird question but my blood sugar level is 4.2 is that normal for a low carber?

starsky22 · 26/05/2019 23:16

Hello SayrraT welcome back!
Thanks for the tips BIWI always appreciated, I know this woe works, I just need to stick to it!

Food today:
B coffee and some cooked chicken
L ham and cheese omlette
D chicken fajita bowl
B & L were a bit lacking in veg, so made up for it at dinner with lots of lettuce, avocado and peppers.

Good luck everyone for weigh in tomorrow!

BIWI · 26/05/2019 23:18

@MumbleLumble but why did you feel the need to be 'polite'?! Where are your needs in all if this?

eggs and butter - and coffee with cream

my curry veg soup with coconut cream (soup was too hot -with chilli - and I've run out of Greek yogurt.) I'm hoping that this wasn't too bad a sub but haven't had it like this before and it tasted sweet.
Some slices of cheese. - without the bread.

Fizzy water instead of wine - salad leaves with mayo - avocado and spring onion - half a small tomato - 2 spears of asparagus wrapped in bacon- beef steak in butter A Coffee with cream instead of dessert.

Summery1 · 27/05/2019 00:26

B: 3 eggs scrambled with feta and spinach. Mushrooms and tomatoes. Half avocado. Coffee with cream.
L: Chicken Caesar salad. Couldn't finish the chicken.
D: Celeriac with butter and tzaiki.
S: tea with milk.

Thanks @biwi for your comments. You are right, emotional eating needs to stop.
I ate the best I could at the canteen last week. I teach in Thailand, so the food is mainly geared towards students (phad thai, curries, rice dishes, cooked veg, sweet and sour...) all the stuff I can happily avoid. Anyway there is always a simple salad bar and I have a tin of tuna at work now, just in case this happen again.

My lunch. Mmmmmmmm.

Hi, i was planning on doing the spinach and ricotta gnocchi recipe from the veggie bootcamp recipe thread, but have no idea where to get soy flour from. Sainsburys/Asda/Morrisons online don't have it i've never heard of it. Any ideas? And is it really allowed?

PushkarKali · 27/05/2019 07:58

Had a bit of a whoosh this morning after a week of watching the same pound go up and down, and I’m delighted to be 72.4 kg today, which is the lowest weight i’ve been this year. I’ve been low carbing for three weeks starting at 76kg, so doing a little maths, that’s almost 8 lbs gone Grin (It’s nonsense, I know, a transparent psychological trick I play on myself, but I always weigh in kg rather than pounds because they sound lower, but think of losses in pounds because they sound bigger. Wink)

I also feel like drinking more than two litres of water a day really helped, and I am quite proud of just having managed it as I find it quite hard to drink plain water. The hot weather has helped!

Had the opportunity to try a meatzza from M&S yesterday, which was quite good, but I wasn’t keen on the texture of the pork base. I’m thinking a home made version with well fried beef mince might be have a better flavour and texture, and would probably be lower in carbs, so I’m going to experiment.

Now we’re into week three, are nuts allowed? There are some recipes I want to try involving ground almonds.

Waswittyonce · 27/05/2019 08:04

Thank you @BIWI. I was a bit late starting bc and was still in carb withdrawal when I had my strop the other day. I'd been inadvertently breaking the rules by eating nuts last week, mixed nuts which included cashews, and I hadn't realised they were bad. My scales aren't great either, I got four different readings this morning, one after the other, so have no idea what I am now! All of them were below starting weight though; at most 2lbs down, at worst 3/4 lb down, so I'm happy with that.
I've been reflecting and I think the biggest cause of my weight problem is alcohol. I just looked back and I had maintained my May 2018 bc losses up until 15 November last year when the Christmas Party season started and my one glass of wine a week turned into several, and the beer drinking started again. I put on 2.7 kg between 15th November and 7th January. Then the carby twat in me was reincarnated and potatoes crept back followed by having the odd sandwich for lunch, and another 0.5kg has gone on since. All this triggered by a few drinks! I'm now contemplating giving up alcohol permanently, the prospect of which feels depressing and daunting. That in itself is probably telling me that I need to.
Anyway good luck with the weigh ins campers, looking forward to reading about all your great losses! Smile

Hello all from sunny València! Gorgeous city, doing my best food wise, and we just won't mention the wine. I've resisted the paella, although DH had one yesterday and it looked amazing. Glad I'm a couple of pounds lighter for all the walking about we're doing.

Hope everyone does well this week. Hasta luego peeps. 💃

venusandmars · 27/05/2019 11:37

@NigellaAwesome hasta luego over to the week 3 thread Grin IT is HERE, incase you missed it

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 28/05/2019 09:39

Really don't think I'm going to get a chance to weigh myself today so updated with Friday's weight instead. Hopefully a bit more has come off since then!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 28/05/2019 09:40

Damn it, wrong thread!! Came over here looking for the spreadsheet but didn't mean to post here v
