Starting tomorrow's thread early as I'm not around in the morning

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So far there seem to be some great results already, so I'm hoping they've continued over the weekend.

I love this week because the first weigh-ins are often spectacular, but also all those who were less than convinced are amazed how much they've lost!

It really sounds to me like people have really got to grips with this WOE, which is fantastic.

Here's to you all, and wishing you a good result on the scales tomorrow. (Or with the tape measure or the clothes you're trying on, if that's your preferred method of monitoring progress!)

Morning all, well done everyone, some amazing losses!

I've been at this a while, so only lost 1.1 lbs, but delighted to say that brings me into the 💯s for the first time in eight years.

Starting weight: 18st 10lbs (262lbs)
Weight now: 14st 3.6lbs (199.6lbs)
Lost so far: 4st 6.4lbs (62.4lbs)
Target: 9st 5lbs (131lbs)
Left to lose: 4st 13.7lbs (68.6lbs)

Iamnotacerealkiller · 20/05/2019 09:54

seems there are a few Salter Ultimate Accuracy Bathroom Scales on google, which one shall i get?

Rshard · 20/05/2019 09:54

Wow youwannapizzame, just wow!

m0therofdragons · 20/05/2019 10:02

Waves at @tootstastic nice to see you here again and well done for sticking with it!

HypatiaCade · 20/05/2019 10:02

Thank you! I'm so chuffed with the loss. I haven't cheated a single time this week - unheard of for me. And I've drunk over 2 litres of water every day, although I've only managed the 3 1/2 litres that I should be drinking for my weight a few days, BUT, I'm not counting my teas in there, and I drink lots of tea. So maybe I have reached it..... who knows.

B: Greek yoghurt with cinnamon.
L: cup a soup loaded with left-over roast chicken.
D: not sure yet....

I've also got a low carb dip and celery sticks in case I want a snack at some point. Going to give the eggs a rest....

HypatiaCade · 20/05/2019 10:04

youwannapizzame - amazing weight loss! Well done.

m0therofdragons · 20/05/2019 10:08

Boiled eggs - I really like "dippy eggs" but without bread soldiers they're not the same. I've used asparagus but does anyone have any other ideas of what to dip?

HypatiaCade · 20/05/2019 10:08

@Iamnotacerealkiller I think these - it has 50 gram increments, and does kg, stones, and pounds weight choices.

The bonus with them is if you step on them while it's turning on (before the 0 flashes up), and let it set to zero with you on them, you can weigh a suitcase (dog, cat) really accurately by picking it up.

Ninkaninus · 20/05/2019 10:13

I find asparagus is the only thing that really works for me, but I only have it once in a great while so I wrap the asparagus in pancetta or streaky bacon, which is nice and crunchy and adds some good flavour too.

Most of the time I just eat soft boiled eggs as is, with a spoon, with salt and pepper.

Also WOW! to some really great losses today!

HypatiaCade · 20/05/2019 10:14

These ones are good too, but don't do stones as a weight choice. But are a lot cheaper.

But these cost the same as the first pair, but do all the fat analysis, BMI, records 12 different users, athlete standard Grin blah, blah blah.

HypatiaCade · 20/05/2019 10:14

Morning Brew Congratulations on all losses and for KOKO regardless for those who haven’t/haven’t moved much Flowers

As expected, not much change here, but delighted that it
a) hasn’t gone up
b) means I’ve maintained my whoosh from last week
c) think I may have a goodish loss this week as last week’s was pre-period and since then I’ve been ill and haven’t been as regular with BM as norm - which think is due to painkillers etc.

Need to update spreadsheet but I’m 0.2lb down at 164.2 from 164.4 last week.
Looking at MFP I also reckon I’m nearer to week 8 (didn’t have a definitive start date) than week 6/7 which is where I thought I was.

Major WOW and congrats to Hypatia and Wanapizzame

Flowers to Toots that must feel great! So happy for you.

Bloodybigbabybelly · 20/05/2019 10:23

@youwannapizzame wow well done Star

18pagesfrontandback · 20/05/2019 10:25

Also, thanks Hypatia re the AF chat on week 1 thread. You’ve actually given me the push to go to G.P about it. I have mentioned it before at an appointment but she dismissed it with a ‘oh yes, you really need to stick at those creams’ and I haven’t brought it up since.

But this year is very much a year of focussing on self-care for a change. This woe and the health benefits/weight loss were part of that mission along with other things I’ve achieved/am achieving. So I’m going to stick my feet (not literally) on that list! I deserve to not have the constant hassle of AF and I would love to go for a pedicure one day!

Rayna37 · 20/05/2019 10:26

Some fantastic work here, but expected as much as the first week thread has been so good!

4.4lbs off for me registering 121.4lbs which is incredible as I'm so close to goal with a current BMI of 21.5. However it has reminded me that last time I hit my 120lbs goal I realised that actually with such a small frame I could stand to lose maybe another 5lbs to get rid of the belly wobble, though not sure I'd want to have to maintain that or buy a new wardrobe of size 8s to cover it. Nice problems to have though granted.

Really pleased with how I've handled food while away with work and over the weekend plus not even missing the wine and beer - trying to get my Drinkaware App down to a really low rolling average before my holiday! I have to keep in mind that I'm on holiday for week 5 so will probably spend the second half of bootcamp just getting back to where I've already been.

TheWaiting · 20/05/2019 10:27

Any tips on how to stay motivated over the coming weeks when the loses will inevitably be far less or non existent?

RightYesButNo · 20/05/2019 10:31

Congrats on all the losses, everyone, and despite no loss, congrats on getting into your jeans @bloodybigbabybelly!

3lb loss here and I suspect most of it was just water still. I PM’ed BIWI as I wasn’t able to follow a few of the rules due to a medical issue that’s a bit too gross for the board Thursday... and it ended up extending into Friday AND Saturday Envy (not envy), so I’m not surprised my loss was pretty small for my weight. I finally was able to get fully back to the rules and stomach three meals on Sunday, so I’m hoping to see a bigger loss this week as this will be my first full week of being able to follow the 10 rules, and I’ll probably extend following the first-two-week rules for an extra three days for the days I “missed.” (Trust me, I would rather have spent them low-carbing than I ended up spending them Sad).
Today’s menu:
B - yogurt
Lunch - chicken, parmesan, broccoli, arugula salad
Dinner - leftover salad
Post-dinner (have to eat with medications) - broccoli and piece of cheddar
Drink - 3L water, peppermint tea with no sweetener

HypatiaCade · 20/05/2019 10:32

18pagesfrontandback - Brilliant! I'm so pleased. Your feet will be sandal ready in no time at all!!!

Not to mention the relief of not getting constant skin breaks in between the toes, itchy toes, etc, etc, etc. It's not pleasant.

Just in case they push back at you, stress how long you've suffered, the fact that you've been very diligent with the creams, washing and towels etc, and although they help reduce it, they have never eliminated it. Don't walk out of there without a prescription. Some GPs are arses when it comes to this sort of stuff.

Notlostjustexploring · 20/05/2019 10:36

Bleh, I've stayed the same at 188lbs this week.

I'm having a look at my week to see what went wrong. The main thing that sticks out is the cans of espresso I've been drinking.Blush didn't check the label, much added sugar.Blush I blame the non sleeping baby and toddler. I've pulled the finger out and made a batch of espresso to which I'll be adding some lovely double cream. Cans have been firmly kicked to the side as a non bootcamp treat. I'm also suitability embarrassed and shamed at my arrogance at not properly following the rule, so I beg, no stick.

The other thing is that I was hungry constantly last week, I think due to my body wondering where all the sugar went, so snacking featured a lot, which meant a lot, a lot of cheese. Not so hungry this week, so hopefully snacking shouldn't feature as much. And I'll reign in the cheese.

I also have a bit of a sniffle, so I think I'm retaining water, I can feel it in my hands.
I'm also a daily weigher, and I've been much lower over the course of the week, and the bloat is gone from my middle and face. So I'm feeling pretty good despite the lack of movement from the scales. It's ten weeks, not one, I'll fix where I went wrong, and I'll have a massive lose to report next Monday.Smile

So breakfast today was three boiled eggs mashed with double cream and cheese. Lunch will be some (sugar free, homemade) pulled pork with a spot of salad and a dollop of mayonnaise and dinner is a sausage, halloumi and veg bake. No snacks except creamy coffees to get me through my 45 minutes of sleep last night...Grin

Well done and good luck to all!!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 20/05/2019 10:37

@m0therofdragons I dipped fried (in butter of course!) mushrooms in my boiled eggs 😋

I do miss a good crunch though...

18pagesfrontandback · 20/05/2019 10:38

Thewaiting honestly? Mostly you have to just trust that it is working. Belieeeeeeve in it. Keep drinking your water, stick to the rules and try not to let it derail you, because it will come, and when it does, how much will totally depend on how ‘good’ you’ve been.

I’ve recently had a 4 week stall. Up and down same 2 pounds. I kept shrinking though, and sheer bloody mindedness (I’m good at stubborn) wouldn’t let me cave in because I remembered from LC in the past and fasting, that weight loss isn’t linear. It’s usually incremental and that’s just the way it is. Anything else is a bonus! So don’t let the scales trick you into giving up.

There’s lots of science around on tinternet about reasons why this happens. I always find it helpful to read as much as possible to help keep me focussed and remind me of the magic that is happening even when I don’t feel it/see it on scales.

Ninkaninus · 20/05/2019 10:40

I wonder if it would work to bash or blitz some pork scratchings to make a crunchy crumb/powder to dip your chosen ‘soldier’ into first, before dipping into the egg?

TheWaiting · 20/05/2019 10:42

18pages, careful with the pedicures as some can make your AF worse esp those ones with the lotion and the warm bootees. When I had it constantly, I was told no lotion, no pedicures as they added to the moisture and trapped the fungus on the skin. I remember I also soaked my feet in warm salty water, bathed in Epsom salts and there was also another ointment from the GP that helped with a bad flare up. It was called Betnovate N. Some sort of steroid cream with antibiotic instead of the constant anti fungals I’d been trying. It def helped. Good luck. It’s horrid.

TheWaiting · 20/05/2019 10:44

Oh and thanks for the tips re motivation! I’m currently feeling very motivated but I’m worried that will fade if I don’t see good numbers each week.

18pagesfrontandback · 20/05/2019 10:47

*My stall ended with a 4.5lb loss btw. Which I’ve maintained this week.
