Starting tomorrow's thread early as I'm not around in the morning

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So far there seem to be some great results already, so I'm hoping they've continued over the weekend.

I love this week because the first weigh-ins are often spectacular, but also all those who were less than convinced are amazed how much they've lost!

It really sounds to me like people have really got to grips with this WOE, which is fantastic.

Here's to you all, and wishing you a good result on the scales tomorrow. (Or with the tape measure or the clothes you're trying on, if that's your preferred method of monitoring progress!)

Please excuse typos, I'm walking to work as I write!

Leelaseye · 20/05/2019 08:33

6lb off - very happy with that. Also pleased that I've not cheated and have managed to keep up with the water.
Have struggled to find time to follow the thread but will definitely need the motivation and support over the next week!
B: FF Greek yoghurt
L: Feta salad with boiled eggs
D: Spag Bol with broccoli

Tamarasnotmyname · 20/05/2019 08:34

@BIWI could you add me to the spreadsheet? My starting weight is 172lbs eeeeek! My goal is around 155lbs. Bring it on Smile

Notwatchingtvtoday · 20/05/2019 08:45

BIWI have tried to add myself but it won’t let me type anything , would it be possible for someone to add me please ?

BIWI · 20/05/2019 08:58

Morning all. Just a quick check in to see how everyone is getting on Smile
Some great losses here - especially @DrBuckles! Star

The reason the losses are so great, especially if this is the first time you've moved into low carbing, is that as well as losing water, you will have used up the glycogen stores in your liver and muscles.

When you eat carbs, the body turns them into glucose which is used firstly for your immediate energy needs, secondly stored as glycogen for later usage - and fat when the glycogen stores are exceeded.

As well as water and glycogen you will also have burnt a little fat.

But what makes this diet different from a low calorie or low fat one is that other diets don't deal with the glycogen.

Of course, once you've used up the glycogen stores (and lost the water) you'll now start to move on to losing fat. But this will be at a lower rate than you've seen this week.

So @IStillMissBlockbuster what can you see from here on? Clearly it depends if you're following the rules or not! Wink

Some people see their initial larger loss spread over two weeks, so if you haven't lost much this week don't despair!

Weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for seeing little or no loss, so be prepared for that. Your body is shifting from carb burning to fat burning, and from week 5 onwards, weight loss should resume.

If you haven't lost much or anything this week, have a look back over what you were eating and see if you can spot anything that might have impeded weight loss. Already I can see that some have identified that too much snacking, or too much dairy might be an issue. And certainly not enough water will also be something you need to deal with.

As @Almahart has done, go back to the rules and ask yourself honestly if you've been following those.

KOKO and hope that this week is a good one for us all Flowers

Finally broken my 6 day 12st 8.4lb curse and i'm down a pound!!

I believe this is the least i have weighed since 2 years (and one baby) ago so horah!

Thanks everyone for putting up with my grumpyness, thrush getting better too (thanks canesten).

@HypatiaCade

Thanks for the recommendation, there is definately something up with my scales. First thing this morning i weighed and recorded no weight loss. then had a (tiny tiny) wee and moved the scales to a new floor tile and boom a whole pound down. it took me a few tried too.

These scales are new though following last bootcamp scale shenanigans. tbh i think i just need to focus less on the scales as it can very disheartening, and more on my goal and how i feel.

I must say however, you are right above me in the spreadsheet and my, your loss has been impressive :)

Plan for today, belly pork in the oven and it will be that plus soy sauce when i get back from baby group at lunch time.

I made an excellent thick veg and bacon soup on saturday so will have that for dinner.

Im going to finally buy my goal dress today i think. A size 12 for a wedding in august.

Am loving reading all the positivity and about the lbs lost this morning. Wow!

What alma said really resonated with me, it’s so easy to get a bit compliant and let yourself slip. I can find myself snacking on cheese very easily so that’s my challenge for the week.

BIWI · 20/05/2019 09:06

Oh - sorry! Blush Special woo hoo for @HypatiaCade! 13lbs is amazing! Star Star

Morning everyone! ☀️☀️

Weighed in at 159.2, so a loss of 2.2 pounds, which I’m very happy with.

Mostly I feel great about how great I feel, IYKWIM, and I’m proud that I swerved pizza yesterday and also worked my way through the most agitated and frustrated Sunday evening mood I’ve had in a long time, without doing anything I didn’t really want to do.

Congrats to everyone who’s lost, commiserations to those who haven’t (it’ll happen, just stick with it), and Flowers to everyone!

Have a great week!

Ninkaninus · 20/05/2019 09:08

BIWI just so you know there is a question for you in a comment on thread 1 (in case you haven’t been back there).

blackteaplease · 20/05/2019 09:08

@m0therof dragons. Are you my doppelganger? I've also had 3 dc and have always thought I was fat. In my head whether I'm 9st 4 or 13 stone I look the same, theres some messed up brain thing happening there.

BIWI · 20/05/2019 09:09

Thanks @Ninkaninus will go and take a look.

If anyone hasn't lost, or hasn't lost much, and you can't identify the reason why, post your food and drink over the last few days and let's see if we can help

Ninkaninus · 20/05/2019 09:10

Hum wait the maths on that isn’t right. 159.8!

bibliomania · 20/05/2019 09:35

3.9lbs down. I'm proud of myself after a walking weekend in which I sidestepped chocolate and alcohol and kept carbs to a minimum. I will admit to a banana for Sunday breakfast, but the alternatives were a croissant or toast, so it seemed the best option.

Youwanapizzame · 20/05/2019 09:37

Ok cant quite believe this and I got on the scales, off the scales, moved the scales, reset the scales.... burning down 19lbs... and that being conservative as they were weighing at between 15.12 and 16.4. So I'm using the highest weight. I'll need to double check on my mums scales when I'm next there...

Long time.since I've seen 15 something on the scale. Wasnt even 16 something last week 😁😁😁 crikey.

@motherofdragons high five ywon mum here too. I've two girls 3 and a half.

Right we're going to soft play this morning and then Going to get some housework done. I'm being called to Inspect a poo right now though. I'll check in later

TheWayOfTheWorld · 20/05/2019 09:38

Morning everyone, some great losses! Star

This has been week 4 for me so I am very pleased with another 1.6lbs off, so 9lbs off since 24th April to take me to 148.2lbs.

I will retake my measurements tomorrow. First mini target is 147lbs then 140lbs - ultimate aim is 135lbs. Although I am short I think I am "heavy" IYSWIM, so at that weight I am comfortably a large 8/small 10.

@athelstane could you please update column C of the SoF to show my starting weight as 157lbsThanks

bibliomania · 20/05/2019 09:38

I'm also with those who may need to cut down on dairy. I find it's easy to end up eating it at every meal.

BIWI · 20/05/2019 09:38

@Youwanapizzame I saw that on the spreadsheet! I did wonder if you'd put the right numbers in, but I'm delighted for you that you did Grin

@Youwanapizzame - wowwee!! Star

m0therofdragons · 20/05/2019 09:42

@blackteaplease sadly I think many women have this issue. I'd love to be confident re my body but realistically I'll always be my harshest judge. At least if I'm deemed "healthy" I can try to ignore the rest Grin

m0therofdragons · 20/05/2019 09:44

Well done @Youwanapizzame

My twins are 7 so I really can't use the baby weight excuse anymore. I did lose the baby weight but then ate everything in sight for the last 4 years Grin

TheWaiting · 20/05/2019 09:46

@HypatiaCade, wow! 13lbs is phenomenal! ⭐️⭐️
@Iamnotacerealkiller, I also have the scales recommended and I also recommend them. Grin
@m0therofdragons, I think what you’re experiencing is quite a common phenomenon amongst people who have lost a lot of weight. I tried Slimming World (which encouraged me to eat lots of carbs Hmm) but on one evening they had a psychologist come in to talk to the group and she was basically saying that the body loses weight quicker than the brain can keep up. She was saying that the brain takes a series of pictures for memory and some memories set down and one of those will be ‘how you look’. It takes time and sometimes actual photos for your brain to accept the new you.

ilovecherries · 20/05/2019 09:48

2lbs for me, which I’m delighted about having been LCing for two years.

TheWaiting · 20/05/2019 09:49

@Youwannapizzame, amazing loss, well done! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’d love to update the spreadsheet but can’t get it to work for me (I don’t have a desktop)

Youwanapizzame · 20/05/2019 09:49

I know @Biwi its unbelievable! I'll be falling.down grates by next week!

@motherofdragons I cant ble the girls either. I weighed less after they were born than I did when I got pregnant! Going back to work did me in. Sitting there all day....

Anyway hope you all have good days x
