Starting tomorrow's thread early as I'm not around in the morning

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So far there seem to be some great results already, so I'm hoping they've continued over the weekend.

I love this week because the first weigh-ins are often spectacular, but also all those who were less than convinced are amazed how much they've lost!

It really sounds to me like people have really got to grips with this WOE, which is fantastic.

Here's to you all, and wishing you a good result on the scales tomorrow. (Or with the tape measure or the clothes you're trying on, if that's your preferred method of monitoring progress!)

I’m doing ok with going to the gym but I’d love to run more. I love the solitude of running very early in the morning. When we go somewhere like Center Parcs, I’m up and out early but it’s so difficult at home with kids waking at the crack of dawn.
Well done all of those doing park runs on Saturday mornings.

TheWaiting · 25/05/2019 15:05

I don’t eat red meat so no porks scratchings for me but DH eats the super hot snaffling pig ones that come in a jar. He delights showing me when he finds a hairy one. 🤢

Batshittery · 25/05/2019 15:32

I've managed to catch up with the thread again.

I've been 'off piste' for the last couple of days, but now reigned it back in.
I think I'm going to have Saturdays as my weigh days.

Ive enjoyed reading all your updates and your posts Chippin

Have a good bank holiday weekend all.

prettybird · 25/05/2019 15:33

I admire you TheWaiting - I am sooooo not a morning person, so have to find time elsewhere to run (if I'm going through a running phase). I'm a non-addicted runner, so even though I've done 3 marathons and multiple halfs and 10ks, I've not run in ages. I tried starting again this year (running the distance I hate - 1-1.5 miles - to buid up being unusually sensible Blush) and still got a strained calf/achilles tendinitis Sad (in the leg I don't usually get it Confused) and just haven't started again Blush

I do do The Shred, alternating with Ripped, 4 days a week (with the 5th week day doing a Pilates class to which I cycle, 3.2 miles away), so at least I'm doing some exercise Smile

Notwatchingtvtoday · 25/05/2019 17:47

Thank you for your kind words chipping

I’m finding being away quite lovely but tough food wise , but am trying really, really hard to stay away from temptation. It’s lovely to be eating out but tricky to know exactly what is in everything. I had to send my lunch back as had asked for a salad without dressing so that I could add my own and it came swamped in a delicious looking balsamic one, that was a real test of my will power 😀
B Greek yogurt
L salad with ham, cheese, marinated courgettes and aubergines ( said no to the balsamic dressing)
D hopefully will be something like steak or fish with green veg and butter

On a positive note have managed to drink loads of water

venusandmars · 25/05/2019 17:57

from M&S I buy cheese and ham rollitos, or the little dipper pack of prawns with mayonnaise.

What is this 'running' of which you speak? Grin wanders off for a stroll

Rayna37 · 25/05/2019 19:46

Jamie Oliver being in the news this week brought to mind a recipe I used to cook a lot from The Naked Chef, one of my first proper cookery books in my early 20's. I'm converting his porcini and thyme, tomato and mascarpone sauce for pasta into something to have with chicken and green beans (DH and I) or jersey royals for my parents. Smells fabulous.

MumbleLumble · 25/05/2019 19:48

Thanks for all the nandos help. I ended up having chicken thighs, salad and a tiny bit of coleslaw. It was delicious! I have been feeling very drained this week. I feel constantly exhausted but I also think it's down to cutting out caffeine. Not purposely, I just can't drink tea without sugar in, so I'm just not drinking tea at all. When does all the energy kick in? On the plus side, I feel full between meals which is a miracle for me!

SittingontheSidelines · 25/05/2019 19:49

Breakfast Fage yogurt
Snack 3 garlic stuffed olives.
Lunch left over turkey veg stormy
Dinner bolognaise sauce, some tomato but not much, mince and shallots. I'd intended to serve it on a bed of leaves but when I got them out they were unappetising. So I had some cucumber and olives instead.

MumbleLumble · 25/05/2019 19:51

Also, is anyone else's stomach constantly making weird noises? Or is that just mine....

Doilooklikeatourist · 25/05/2019 20:55

I’ve fallen so far off the wagon , but I’m slowly crawling back up
Going away for a little holiday , so have weighed in early ( with a huge gain from comfort eating )
Back on it , from Tuesday
Enjoy the long weekend losers 👍

Summery1 · 25/05/2019 22:04

These running comments are inspiring. I swam with my club this morning. I might try a walk/run tomorrow.
B: scrambled eggs, mushrooms, spinach and 2 slices bacon.
L: chicken and greens salad, with cheese shavings and olive oil.
D: steak, french beans, mushrooms, garlic butter & coleslaw.
Snacks: 2 coffees with cream.

1Wildheartsease · 25/05/2019 22:18

Well done everyone.
Swerved the wine today ...
though had a glass last night -1st fail on an opening for boot-camp :(

It was a special occasion but didn't feel good. I find that I prefer sticking to the plan. Wine can wait!

Today:
-eggs and coffee with cream
-slices of beef with avocado crush rolled inside with olives and tomato
-pork chop baked in garlic and herb butter with broccoli and sprouts - also baked. An extra coffee with cream and water- helped me avoid the wine.

MrsBertBibby · 25/05/2019 23:19

Feel knackered from lugging sacks of compost about today.

B : nibbles of cheese and quorn fillet
L : really not hungry
D: spinach and mushroom and cheese omelette on lettuce.

Heartyhooker · 25/05/2019 23:56

Well done @Chipping on the blood sugars. Not sure if this is any use to you but Jack Munroe had a method of making a veggie mince from mushrooms. I think from memory you baked slices in a low oven and crumbled them up, think it would be lower carb wise than quorn. In my short lived vegan days I remember making Portobello steaks.

Meals a bit disorganised as worked last night and now on holiday for a week.
B creamy coffee at work
L asleep, well trying as only female in house I apparently the only one who knows were anything is.
T cauliflower pizza base topped with courgette, broccoli, ham and dotted with a little boursain.

Have quite a bit of pizza left as very filling, so that's one meal sorted tomorrow. Previously could easily have wolfed a dough based pizza of that size

venusandmars · 26/05/2019 08:24

Rubbish weather here - waiting for the rain to go off so I can have a walk.

B/L - creamy scrambled egg, sausages, mushrooms
D - steak, salad

RocketPockets · 26/05/2019 08:38

Back from my holiday & managed to do so much better than I expected!
I've put on a total of 0.4lb according to my scales this morning. I didn't drink as much as I thought I would, I did lots of swimming & walking & I ate lots of seafood, cold meats & cheese. There were some snacks & carbs once a day but overall I'm okay with how I did.

100% back to it today (still staying away from all things sweet & treating this as my second week)
B - asparagus wrapped in prosciutto & fried in butter
L - scrambled eggs with chicken & salad
D - gammon & egg with some salad

Going to catch up on as much of the thread from this past week as I can to get some ideas!

MrsBertBibby · 26/05/2019 10:31

Well done Rocket!

BIWI · 26/05/2019 10:41

Morning all! Sorry for absence but have had a lovely time this week doing touristy things with visitors from Canada.

Am back on it now! Do I need my Big Stick? Wink

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 26/05/2019 10:43

Out for dinner and a film last night for DH's birthday and managed better than I thought I would. Dinner was at a steak place, so I swerved the (amazing looking) chips and had tenderstem broccoli with parmesan and mushrooms in garlic butter with my steak instead, and stuck to just one glass of red and lots of water. No pudding, obs.

I am especially proud that all I had in the cinema was more water, no snacks or more wine. AND I still haven't touched any of the birthday cake!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 26/05/2019 11:43

We are out to lunch again today - does anyone know if chicken fried in buttermilk is likely to be ok?

ShagMeRiggins · 26/05/2019 12:00

BIWI I do think the Big Stick could at least be brought out for show. Having just caught up on the thread all I’m seeing is talk of this wagon, and getting back on it. Hmm

Summery1 · 26/05/2019 12:03

greebol I'd imagine if it wasn't battered it'd be fine.

BIWI · 26/05/2019 12:36

Ah. OK @ShagMeRiggins. I'll have a proper read of the thread ... Hmm

OP posts:
BIWI · 26/05/2019 12:37

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal I don't think so - I'd suspect it's very likely to be battered.
