Starting tomorrow's thread early as I'm not around in the morning

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

So far there seem to be some great results already, so I'm hoping they've continued over the weekend.

I love this week because the first weigh-ins are often spectacular, but also all those who were less than convinced are amazed how much they've lost!

It really sounds to me like people have really got to grips with this WOE, which is fantastic.

Here's to you all, and wishing you a good result on the scales tomorrow. (Or with the tape measure or the clothes you're trying on, if that's your preferred method of monitoring progress!)

TWOTW. Happy belated birthday 🌷. You did well to stick to the WOE. Sorry about the headache, but great it’s helped you kick the wine every night habit.

Istill. Well done on the lbs & congratulations on getting DH interested. Hopefully he’ll do it, it’s so much easier when you’re both doing it.

starsky. Sorry to hear you feel rubbish. I can’t think of a nice smoothie replacement, though there might be one on the recipe thread? You could ‘go green’ and have cucumber, celery, spinach, type thing but I haven’t found one I’d choose to drink that doesn’t involve stuff we can’t have. That aside, with any kind of smoothie you’re killing all the fibre, I’d rather have the veg in butter and keep the fibre.

No berries if you’re in week 2

Yogurt with berries from week 3 is good. Again though personally I wouldn’t make a coulis, eat them whole & keep the fibre. I add a sprinkling chopped almonds too.

A massage sounds devine. I need to find somewhere local that’s good.

Hope you’re feeling better soon.

notwatchingTV. I hope you have a lovely weekend with DD. Has she enjoyed the year there? I’m sorry to hear she was grieving - I hope she’s working her way through that 🌷

MrsFC. That’s brilliant, well done!

Those pesky little carbs just start to sneak in don’t they?! The little things like less focus on water, cups of tea with milk, fruit... the ‘not exactly naughty’ ones.

nameuser. I think your scales and mine must have been chatting. Mine had me a different weight each time I stepped on them, only by a couple of pounds but even so! I might buy some new ones.

Hope you find some nice bits at Lidl.

Nigella. I hope you enjoy your weekend away. Try not to think about work, but come back strong enough to deal with the stress.

ChippingInLowCarbing · 24/05/2019 10:57

waswittyonce. ((Hug))

If it helps, you’re not alone.

I’m about the same weight as when we started, my skin has gone dry (very unusual for me), I’m no less exhausted than before we started and I have an almost constant headache 🙄.

I put it down to being a vegetarian who doesn’t eat eggs (so pretty much everything I eat has carbs in it - veg, salad, tofu. None of it’s 0 carbs😖). Although according to the Ketostix I’m in Ketosis, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

However, I’m sure if I just KOKO it will work itself out. This WOE is better for my general health and as a diabetic I’m very thankful that it sorts out my BG to ‘normal’ and gets my BP down too.

I’m like you with injuries, I’m currently very pissed off as I’d just got quite a bit fitter and stronger and then I’ve had to be resting as much as possible. It’s as frustrating as hell.

It’s LOVELY to hear about everyone’s losses, but sometimes it’s like ‘I want a turn!!’

Over the weekend slowly read ALL the rules and see if there’s something you’re accidentally including that you shouldn’t. Check you’re drinking enough water. Check you’re not having too much dairy (lots of butter is ok). Hopefully you’ll find something you can tweak and if not, just remember it worked last time, so it will work 🌷

ChippingInLowCarbing · 24/05/2019 11:10

Greebols. WOW 🎉 that’s fab!! You’ll be that skinny maid in no time! If you carry on losing you’ll be at your wedding weight in no time, zooming past your goal weight for this Bootcamp! 😊

devoncreamtea. I hope something good comes from the meetings. It’s frustrating, boring & tedious isn’t it. You’re doing well to stay on plan despite it all.

readyforsunshine. Welcome 😊

Congratulations & commiserations as appropriate to everyone else! Such a lovely thread with SO many people!

m0therofdragons · 24/05/2019 11:21

It's fair to say this boot camp has been fairly disastrous for me. I've got a cold and maybe having followed this woe for 5 months I needed a few days off. I've written the week off as yesterday I was battling with my brain and ended up having pizza and vienetta ice cream (very 80s). At least it was M&S pizza, but I've not had pizza for about a year.

Today's meals are fully planned so I'm restarting week two. Hoping to maintain this week.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 24/05/2019 11:23

Thank you ChippingInLowCarbing, and thanks for being so patient with my whinging! I'm sure you'll get a big whoosh soon.

Waswittyonce · 24/05/2019 11:54

Thank you Chipping, you’re absolutely right, it is lovely to hear of so many successes (grr 😊) and well done everyone, I do know it’ll happen if I hang on in there. I had a rotten headache the other day, went to bed with it and woke up with it still, suddenly remembered about the electrolyte tabs I bought last year and one of those sorted it straight away, so perhaps you’re in need of something like that? I was in a bad mood this morning but actually, now I think about it, that’s nothing to how I was before I took the electrolytes, I was an absolute cow to everyone, so things are improving slowly!
The frustration over the exercise is grinding isn’t it. I hope your resting pays off soon so you can get back into it. I was really enjoying the yoga, but the blimming ankles and wrists have pretty much scuppered that, not to mention 30 yr old stepson unexpectedly moving in with us following a break up. I do not want him to have to suffer the potential psychological damage of walking in on me, prone in front of the telly, in tights with my bum in the air.

Congrats being in Ketosis, I don’t have sticks, and neither do I have any other symptoms yet, so I don’t think I am. I seem to remember (TMI ALERT!) my wee smelling a bit different last year, haven’t noticed that yet.
I will revisit the rules and double check though, thank you. My memory is a bit pants these days, there could well be something I’ve missed/forgotten.
Happy weekend everyone!

1Wildheartsease · 24/05/2019 12:25

Full of sympathy for slower losses @waswitty - I'm about a stone over my top BMI and have become used to losing .2 of a pound (not even every week) when I feel I deserve to lose at least the full 2 !

Things have been a bit better on this bootcamp - so carb-creep might have been happening (or perhaps I was just eating more because more lovely contrasting things were available?).

At least the trend is downwards and v. little by v.little the weight is disappearing. Total loss is very comforting. I'm hoping that the slow-motion will leave time for stretched skin to keep up.

Rayna37 · 24/05/2019 13:04

Just told my colleagues about the Meatzas I bought in M&S yesterday and it's blown their minds. Only one has any concept of low carbing but they can all see the appeal! We'll have them after the weekend I think with a glass of long awaited red, I've got my parents staying for the next few days. Hoping I keep the weight at least as low as today's for Monday's weigh in!

New size 10 swimsuit and bikini too, and while I'm not Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in them (as modeled on the labels) I can delude myself I'm a younger Liz Hurley. I'm not not remotely, but I still looked pretty good thanks to this last 2 weeks!

B: scrambled eggs and asparagus
Babybel
L: chicken drumsticks and salad, plus yogurt. Weirdly I need/want "pudding" after lunch at work whereas I'm fine in the evening just to eat my (admittedly usually bigger and tastier) main meal.
D: out for dinner, probably a prawn & lobster cocktail and steak and veg, from a browse at the menu.

m0therofdragons · 24/05/2019 13:50

B - Greek yoghurt
L - lettuce and cucumber with creamy dressing and cheese
D - salmon and buttery cabbage, asparagus

Lunch is light so I've popped to Tesco craving sweets but am staying strong and have cooked chicken and Parma ham to keep me going!

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/05/2019 14:15

@VeryLittleOwl and the rest of the stallers, I was the same (and slightly increasing) for a few days. Until two days ago when I lost 3lbs literally overnight, then another 2lbs for today's weigh.

I'm very sure I will now have another plateau of a few days when I mutter at the scales, "I could be bloody eating pasta you bastards". I think I should probably weigh weekly but I don't want to Grin

Yesterday I was going to eat tuna salad (mainly mayonnaise) for dinner but DH threw it away on the grounds that it was in my hot car all day, was warm to the touch and would probably kill me. He's such a wimp. I ended up having two Babybels instead. Not exactly a 'balanced' dinner but I'm amazed I wasn't chewing my arm off (it was after a run!). Wasn't hungry overnight either.

TheWaiting · 24/05/2019 14:43

After a huge loss last week, my scales are just showing a 1lb loss so far this week. Confused I know I need to battle through it.

Youwanapizzame · 24/05/2019 15:01

Hey everyone

Some good losses today and some exicting weekend plans.

B - sausage and bacon mushrooms
l - Salad with meats and feta
D - ??? OMG Ive forgotten to think of dinner... heck.

tomorrow we are going to a friends house for lunch. She is doing pizza. Im going to take a big salad, some deli mates and cheese and olives. That'll do right?

anyway better google something easy for dinner!

ciao for now!

MumbleLumble · 24/05/2019 15:14

Can anyone help me with what the best thing for me to have at nandos is? And does anyone know if their mayo is full fat or reduced fat? I'm thinking chicken thighs and salad would be okay? Thanks!

Youwanapizzame · 24/05/2019 15:59

deli mates! LOL I actually meant meats obvs

Youwanapizzame · 24/05/2019 16:01

www.nandos.co.uk/food/menu

Nutritional values under each item!

Almahart · 24/05/2019 16:15

I had chicken thighs coleslaw and broccoli spears at Nando’s, mumblelumble it was easy

Managed a work lunch with one of those big balls of mozzarella and some aubergine salad

Off camping next - have some mini cheese and a couple of avocados for the cool box + some pork scratchings

Tonight will be easy as eating before we leave

My concentration levels have absolutely shot up, I’m powering through work, it’s amazing

Ninkaninus · 24/05/2019 16:21

Alma some of the bratwurst sausages from LIDL (Or is it Aldi?) would be perfectly fine in the cool box too!

Youwanapizzame · 24/05/2019 16:27

Actually now you've inspired me @MumbleLumble think I want Nando's for dinner! Mmmmm EXTRA HOT!!!

VeryLittleOwl · 24/05/2019 16:39

I came back from Tesco with some RFQS garlic-stuffed green olives from the deli and a cauliflower. Think it's going to be roasted cauli, olives and cheese for supper. I sailed past the bakery without even looking at it today :)

m0therofdragons · 24/05/2019 17:11

@TheWaiting 1lb is still going in the right direction and you've still got the weekend for further loss but anything with a - before it is going well. Here's my weight loss journey pic - clear ups and downs but right overall direction Grin

Week 2 - May '19 LC Bootcamp - my favourite week!
m0therofdragons · 24/05/2019 17:13

The three spikes represent dd1's birthday, my birthday and end of boot camp BlushGrin

Rayna37 · 24/05/2019 17:16

Love a graph m0ther!

TheWaiting · 24/05/2019 18:00

Thanks m0therofdragons! I know you’re right, I think I was just so motivated at the huge loss last week and had hoped for more. But we’ll see what Monday brings. Your graph is fabulous and puts it into context. Thanks

ShagMeRiggins · 24/05/2019 18:23

TheWaiting this is a committed walk with friends, not a frantic race. We will reach our destination at a healthy and comfortable pace (1-2lb per week, on average). We will reach our destination together.

Maybe re-frame your first two weeks by adding the loss numbers and saying “Damn! I lost X pounds in only two weeks!” Like they do in the adverts.

m0therofdragons · 24/05/2019 19:16

@TheWaiting I'm good at reassuring others but the worst with myself. I'm so frustrated by the 9/10st barrier that rather than go for a run and drink more I ate pizza and ice cream. For an intelligent woman I can also be an idiot Blush
