Morning all. Sorry for lateness of the thread.

Here's the spreadsheet

As the title says, only two more weeks left! But that still means there's time to shed a couple more pesky pounds.

Hope you all have a good week

Anyone else got an insane gale blowing?! It’s driving my DD mental!!
Breakfast nowt
Lunch was tuna mayo with olives and jalapeños
plus kale roasted in olive oil and vinegar which I’m addicted to

Tom due soon - utterly jaded and DD hasn’t stopped all day 🔫Ate a few bits of cheddar and a large pinch of shredded coconut after vowing not to snack aargh

MiniCooperLover · 10/03/2019 17:28

Nando's for lunch so I had ceasar salad work a chicken breast and no croutons and a side of halloumi. Breakfast was 2 boiled eggs with mayo after a 5K run and dinner will be beef roast with cauliflower cheese 👍

m0therofdragons · 10/03/2019 18:37

Okay, sticky toffee pudding definitely isn't part of this woe. Onwards and downwards but may wait until Tuesday to weigh.

SummerSazz · 10/03/2019 19:23

I've had a stall - possibly bad behaviour Grin. I seem to lose 4lbs stay there for a few weeks and then lose another 4. So am ok with that as long as the falls continue!!

Went for a 5.5k run today and then 3hrs gardening. Missed lunch as was outside and wasn't really hungry but am starving waiting for my roast pork with crackling.

Need to get properly back on it this week as last week was a bit bad alcohol wise. Onwards and downwards Smile

SummerSazz · 10/03/2019 19:25

@Siameasy wind was here this morning for my run but died off late morning. However we have had snow and hail. I'm in the West Country so a tad surprising today!

BrassicaBabe · 10/03/2019 19:45

Roast pork for dinner. Cauli cheese is a sure fire way to have an increase tomorrow though Hmm

nowlook · 10/03/2019 19:51

Evening all! I join you from the comfort of my bed with a mild to raging hangover. Yesterday was my mate's surprise 50th. I did so well on the meal in the restaurant: pate, steak, no bread or chips or pud. But all the wine.

Nothing big stick-worthy....until I got home and had a roast pork and applesauce sandwich. And then an emergency McDonald's today.

So, I've well and truly messed up, but I'll be back on it tomorrow.

And it was a hell of a party GrinGrin

Nice to know I still recall all the Wuthering Heights lyrics BlushHmm

Siameasy · 10/03/2019 20:23

Lol nowlook you are partying in style

You know what tho,it got me thinking, before we became a nation of carb addicts we prob did have the odd blow out and by that I mean every few months, someone’s birthday etc. And when it was like that it was prob ok but some how it crept into having treats multiple times a day
Eg as a kid you’d only get a Coke rarely. Cake was only on birthdays. You might get a little bag of Ringos or a penguin 😂in your lunch box but those giant bags of crisps didn’t exist.

Siameasy · 10/03/2019 20:24

^im trying to justify the idea that I could have poppadums with my curry for my birthday (April) here😂

nowlook · 10/03/2019 20:33

@Siameasy
Sod that: I'm having popadoms for your birthday in April too.

Now, has anyone got a March birthday? (Asking for a friend)

BIWI · 10/03/2019 20:49

March birthdays you ask?

DS1 starts us off on 28/2
DBIL 3/3
DS2 5/3
DNiece1 12/3
DNephew 19/3
DH 20/3
DNiece 2 23/3
DNiece3 27/3

Is that enough poppadoms for you?!

nowlook pate, steak, all fine, wine - not so bad, it's just that until you've used up the alcohol you'll not be burning fat. But.. it's what the wine does to your head that's the problem. It says: "It's OK to have a few crisps"; "I'll be ok with a small portion of desert". And then the next morning it says... "I crave salt and sugar" aka carbs, carbs, carbs....

nowlook · 10/03/2019 21:07

@venusandmars
Absolutely. I'm unrepentant about it because I don't have many friends by choice (albeit theirs not mine) and even fewer celebrating a milestone birthday

@BIWI Your family do know that it's possible to have sex other than in June, don't they? Grin

venusandmars · 10/03/2019 21:08

@siamesasy Indeed we did - there is the example of the ancient tribe gorging on a honey comb..

Thank goodness for a body which had an insulin response to keep our blood sugar steady, even after a bit honey feast.

But the honey-fest was maybe once a year, or once every two years. And it wasn't combined with a stuffed crust pizza, and 17 pints of lager.

So celebrate your birthday with a blow out. Maybe celebrate the birthday of your dh, dp, best friend, with a big carb fest. But when you combine that with a carb heavy celebration for your colleagues (every second week), your MIL, BIL, nephews' birthdays, your pals' special occasions, the occasional night out with dh, an all inclusive holiday... and basically we're eating 'honey' every day. That is not how it was intended. That is not how our bodies were meant to work.

Once of twice a year, manageable.

Doilooklikeatourist · 10/03/2019 21:16

@Venus , a glass of wine just makes me want another one , then another , then a drop more , then It’s ooops , may as well finish the bottle

1stMrsF · 10/03/2019 22:29

Hi everyone . Had a busy weekend, but have made some good progress with sorting out the house as needed.

Re: occasional blow outs. I'm planning to eat one piece of cake for my DTDs birthday in May, and I'm planning to eat some baguette on holiday in France in June. I think this is what makes the WOE sustainable in the long term, for me.

Re: bras, NSV for me this week. wearing a new bra one bad size smaller. Ordered same band size and smaller cup for comparison and it came with narrower straps - hadn't occurred to me before this was a thing, my boobs have always been so big! Maybe it might be possible in a while?

Had the Alfredo Cauli Chicken this evening. All family members agreed it was delish, so thank you for all the recommendation.

I think I will STS this week, and I'll take that because I have drunk too much and wine and not enough water. But, again, I think the odd week like this might make it a sustainable WOE, as long as it doesn't go beyond a week. However. feeling a bit bleugh now and so I'm back on KOKO, starting now (drinking water and herbal tea before bed)

Happy Sunday xx

Siameasy · 10/03/2019 22:39

Exactly venus it’s insane how we’ve become. I see it everywhere now. As a society we are faaaar too obsessed with food. Food is nice yes but it’s not meant to be the subject of obsession. And this 24-7 “treat” culture does me in. I had to bribe an ill DD the other day to let the doc look in her ears etc and was adamant it wouldn’t be food. She got a magazine. She gets given a lot of sugary shite by relatives and I have taken to chucking it all away.

venusandmars · 11/03/2019 05:41

Up at 5am with a barking puppy - grrrr... She's not our pup, just staying with us for a few weeks. I've taken her out for a pee and encouraged her back into her crate where she is now lying quietly, but I know that if I creep away and try to go back to bed the noise will start up again. Better to have her settled in her crate, I think. Maybe I can grab a bit of sleep later in the day.

Anyway, used the time to hop on the scales - 2lbs down. Pleased because that's what the scales have been saying for the last couple of days, and for once there's no Monday morning jump up! Maybe I should get up to weigh myself at 5am every day...
maybe not

StuntNun · 11/03/2019 06:46

Siameasy poppadoms are 38% carbohydrate. Stay away!
