Was out all day at an event, dropped dh off for a hill-walk first thing and picked him up on my return. He'd bought some kind of 'healthy' crisps, thinking that we might share them. I resisted. I could smell them, I could hear the crunch, and still I resisted.
Then with our sausage casserole, buttery cabbage, broccoli and courgettes, I made dh mashed potato with butter. I miss buttery potatoes too :(
Re all the different diets, last year, when my low-carb weight loss stalled completely I followed high fat, low carb, intermittent fasting and calorie restricted for 10 days. It was OK, and I didn't feel hungry but to get the high fat percentages it included lots of eggs with cheese, mayonnaise and bacon. There were a lot of 'fat bombs' like this pizza fat bomb Overall it didn't seem like much food, and there wasn't much room for vegetables.
It worked OK for a short while (which is what it was intended to do) but it didn't feel like a very normal way of eating and I think it would be difficult for any longer than a week to 10 days. Whereas with the bootcamp woe I could imagine continuing in a similar way for a long time, without feeling deprived except for aforementioned crisps and buttery potatoes I also find that it's not too difficult to find suitable choices when eating out in a restaurant.
