Morning all. Sorry for lateness of the thread.

Here's the spreadsheet

As the title says, only two more weeks left! But that still means there's time to shed a couple more pesky pounds.

Hope you all have a good week

siameasy barely a squeak out of me bottomwise. When I overload on carbs I am very trumpy!

Iamnotacerealkiller · 08/03/2019 08:49

Im north of London (east anglia) but excellent train links :)

Can anyone recommend a decent but affordable set of digital scales? mine have never been very good but this morning they consistently (three times) weighed me at 4lb more then i expected before dropping down (after i moved it to a different spot and cleaned off the feet) its a bit crap anyway as it only weighs .2 of an lb and flickers between weights etc.

As a bonus if it could weigh me as less than my current ones that would be great :)

BIWI · 08/03/2019 08:52

I have Salter scales, @Iamnotacerealkiller. The ones I chose were the only ones that claimed they would work on a carpeted surface.

They look nice, as they're all glass, but I'm not sure how good they really are. I always have to get on them twice, because the first reading is always higher than the second. (And I always take the second Grin)

I wonder if the battery in yours is running down?

By the way, there's absolutely no point weighing yourself during the day or later in the day, as all you're doing is weighing you + the food and drink you've consumed!

No digestion wind here (North Dumfries & Galloway).

No booze, fags or bad carbs either Halo.

Still blowing industrial quantities of crap out of nose and lungs, though - cannot wait for it all to clear up Angry

Am a little concerned will lost the plot at the weekend - Saturday day always my weak point for wine and crisps. Need a plan...

BIWI · 08/03/2019 08:59

Oooh - but look!

I weigh more if I'm weighing on the carpet!

@Iamnotacerealkiller

I have the RENPHO Bluetooth scales from Amazon that @AandL linked to in week 1. About £35. They link to your phone and depress you. I had a very malleable set of analogues before. I'd be 7 stone wet through if I still had them Sad

Iamnotacerealkiller · 08/03/2019 09:08

No need for anything techi, just something with a reliable and consistent weight. which Salter scales do you use BIWI?

re batteries, perhaps...they were changed fairly recently but i have been using them a lot.. i have a spare somewhere but where did i put it..

Iamnotacerealkiller · 08/03/2019 09:17

ok just changed the battery difficult to know if its worked so will leave it a couple of days and see. X

BIWI · 08/03/2019 09:42

I don't think they still make the ones I have but these are similar/work on carpet as well

I threw out my digital scale in a huff a few days into boot camp as it had a range of around 8 pounds variation. I found scales adding on a spurious 8lbs quite traumatic. I ended up replacing them with analogue scales as I deemed them more trustworthy, and they are more consistent, but I discovered yesterday if I leaned a bit to the left I could drop below 13 stone, which I did rather like!

Siameasy · 08/03/2019 10:38

We’ve got a black glass set of Salter ones and I weigh the same on them as I do on the industrial Boditrax machine at the gym

DH bought some body fat scales and they were so wrong. At the gym I’m around 27% fat which makes sense. The ones he bought had me at 31%. I was furious as 32% is obese and I’m now well within my BMI and caning at at the gym and not cheating really (I have had hummus and legumes). So watch out for those scales as they could cause a lot of upset.

BrassicaBabe · 08/03/2019 10:43

My tanita scales are consistent each and every time. I really rate them. Currently my scales are on carpet so I keep a large bathroom tile underneath it.

BrassicaBabe · 08/03/2019 10:52

Also I weighted in at 9.11.8 this morning. That is soooo going on the xls for 11th. (I always weigh a tad heavier on a Monday). Less than 2lbs to go to get (back) to goal. Wonder if I can do that before the end of BC Hmm

MrsKoala · 08/03/2019 10:58

ooh what are body fat scales?

I am feeling like utter crap today. I don't know what's wrong with my body but its totm and it has arrived from hell. TMI alert - I stopped continuously bleeding about 3 weeks ago then yesterday morning got my period. Last night I had to get up to change super plus tampons and night pads 3 times. Flooded this morning. Changed just before I left for the school run at 8.30 and then at 10 was sitting eating breakfast and when I stood up the chair was covered. All thru my trousers. Back in the shower. Sigh. I haven’t bled like this since my placenta ruptured with ds2. Also my skin has gone to shit. Really spotty and sore. I’ve never had spots so it’s really unusual for me. Is this the menopause? If it is it can fuck off. I feel so tired and nauseous too. When DD naps i’m going to as well. I don’t care that I need to clean the house.

tootstastic · 08/03/2019 12:34

I have Withings scales and find them v reliable... https://www.withings.com/uk/en/body-plus/white/shop?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIz8ytxcTy4AIV4ZPtCh1qAwhUEAQYAiABEgLnnDBwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I have been a bit overwhelmed over the last couple of days with people starting to comment on my weight loss. Yesterday my aunt, brother's GF, school mum and lady at the gym all commented. This morning, barista in coffee shop I pop into regularly, friend I see every week and an acquaintance I haven't seen lately, also commented. So, I seem to have reached a point where it's really noticeable now, which is great, but I do find it a bit embarrassing. Not sure quite what to say in response. I blush and over-explain, instead of just saying thank you. I could do with a stock answer, any suggestions?

MrsTerryPratcett · 08/03/2019 12:51

Definitely nap @MrsKoala

Look after yourself.

nowlook · 08/03/2019 12:51

@MrsKoala

Similar experience here. Came on three days early and clotting like you wouldn't believe. Should have been through the worst of it yesterday, but horrible flooding in the night. It's hideous, isn't it?

BIWI · 08/03/2019 14:05

Hmm @MrsKoala, I'd go and see your GP if I were you. That doesn't sound good or normal to me.

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 08/03/2019 14:05

That's sounds relentless @MrsKoala. A nap does indeed sound like a good idea.

@tootstastic good work on your efforts starting to pay off though!

Lo-dough pizza for late lunch. It was bloody good. Steak and buttered cabbage for dinner along with some decent red wine.

BIWI · 08/03/2019 14:06

@tootstastic - I'd just smile and say thank you!

OP posts:
venusandmars · 08/03/2019 14:46

@tootstastic - my someone 'accused' me of losing weight (the tone and the words did sound like an accusation) I was questioned about how much exercise I was doing.

Given that I am gym and sweaty work out phobic, there is no chance that I'd have lost weight through extreme exercise. I told 'the accuser' that I'd being doing slow yoga, and some chi gung. And then walked away in zen like state to eat butter and cream (no bread) Grin

BIWI · 08/03/2019 15:32
Grin

Totally understand what you are saying tooltastic. A few years ago I lost 2 stone, went from a 16 to a 12. I felt both great and awful. Embarrassed when people mentioned it, particularly those who were a bit chunky themselves and trotted out the usual 'concerns' about starving myself, not overdoing it etc (I was a size 12 for). It didn't last long, put it all back on and more 😳
