I love this week - when we find out how much people have lost, and all those of you who haven't really believed it will work are proved wrong!

Here's the spreadsheet

I hope that the scales have been kind to you, or that your measurements have gone down and your clothes are feeling looser!

I look forward to hearing about everyone's progress.

Here's to a great week 2 as well

Well done everyone! 4lb here.

B: Yogurt
L: Mozzarella and Chorizo salad (yes I am eating too much processed meat! Working on it)
D: Soup
E: Not sure yet, Maybe HIIT and yoga at home

Mimosa1 · 21/01/2019 09:12

Congratulations to everyone for sticking with the diet this week. I can quite believe it but I've lost 3.3kg! I'm back into the 70s at 77.7kg and very pleased with it. My next goal is to get to 76kg, the weight I was this summer when I last stopped weighing myself every few days - a sure sign that things are going off piste. DH is away this week which should make things easier. I'm going to buy myself a nice water bottle to take to work tomorrow as well - that stat about it increasing your metabolism is amazing!

Rshard · 21/01/2019 09:12

@AandL I love your table! What have you done that on??

AthelstaneTheUnready · 21/01/2019 09:20

Hooray for all the lbs gone! Grin

I'm down a lb this week which is perfect given I'm in my third week, have now lost 1/2 a stone already this month, am into the next stone bracket, and am only 1/2 stone away from target, which means I'm doing well to lose that lb of actual fat.

Am SO glad I resisted over the weekend, or I'd be looking at 3 or 4 lbs up instead Shock

bibliomania · 21/01/2019 09:20

Allegedly lost 9lb, but my scales need new batteries, so reserving judgement. Clothes feel the same but I swear I caught a glimpse of collarbone.

NSV - spend Friday afternoon in the office on my own with leftover biscuits and wasn't even tempted, and went to a friend who pressed cake on me and it was easy to just have tea. Neither decision involved willpower - if I don't have that first taste of sugar, I don't get the craving. Also, I have borrowed pretty's idea (I think) - a teaspoon of clotted cream feels like dessert if needed.

Batshittery · 21/01/2019 09:20

Thanks for the new thread BIWI
Some great losses.
Welcome nownownow
A couple of lbs off for me which I’m pleased with. I could have done better and will do so this week Smile

WhatThreeWords · 21/01/2019 09:21

HI - no scales but skirt defo looser. I really think the water drinking is really really helping.
A friend of mine has a blood sugar monitor attached to her arm which she can read with her phone. (her husband is Type 1 diabetes).
It's incredibly useful to monitor blood sugar spikes. What was amazing was that white rice caused as much of a spike in her levels as the dessert she ate on Sat night.

WhatTheFronti · 21/01/2019 09:24

@venusandmars those Greek burgers sound delish! Will be making those later in the week now. Thanks!

Iamnotacerealkiller · 21/01/2019 09:26

Only 2.5lb for me but this is 7.5 since i started 5 days before BC started so still pretty good. Just annoying that i have gained 2lb over night somehow. I dont think i ate 2 lb of food yesterday!! im guessing maybe not enough water or perhaps overdid the aubergine bake yesterday. it had a LOT of dairy in it so perhaps some small amounts of carbs adding up. Hopefully gone by tomorrow.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 21/01/2019 09:28

Hubby away for three days today. Would normally get a chinese but this time im going to get some carb friendly indian food so tandori meats and veggi sides and make it last a couple of meals.

Cheeseandapple · 21/01/2019 09:35

Amazing losses everyone! Well done. I'm down 6lbs, which, after 1 or 2 bad choices this week, I am equally shocked and thrilled by. Thanks for the motivation and recipe tips. It's a great boost to carry on in week 2 and I'm glad I'm prepared for the week 3 & 4 plateau coming up after that.

Onwards and Downwards!

CeciliaMcFlange · 21/01/2019 09:44

Hi checking in here, well done on all the losses - the spreadsheet is looking amazing. I'm down 3lb (I put this on the last thread but adding here).

Had my first cauliflower rice tonight - in a buddha bowl - do you have these in UK? Basically a bowl filled with rice and then veggies/meat/cheese etc they're all the rage here but not sure if we're ahead or behind the curve here in Aus Grin

Haworthia · 21/01/2019 09:45

5.6lbs down which is brilliant considering my period started on Saturday. I definitely felt considerably less bloated and yuck beforehand.

Seeing the scales go down has been a great motivation to carry on. Usually, I’d weigh myself in the morning and think the numbers were pretty good, so I could definitely have some cake later Grin

What I actually want is to comfortably fit into a dress I found in a charity shop. At the moment I look a little like an overstuffed sausage in it.

Going to have breakfast in a minute. Something egg based.

nowlook · 21/01/2019 09:47

Oooh @CeciliaMcFlange I've not heard of that, but then again I hadn't eaten celeriac until yesterday...it's certainly not come to Derbyshire (though we do now have mains electricity).

nowlook · 21/01/2019 09:52

Thanks @AandL ! I've ordered those now...just hope they aren't too accurate vs my more flexible analogue scales Wink

Rshard · 21/01/2019 09:58

Ooh @nowlook I am also in Derbyshire!

nowlook · 21/01/2019 10:00

@Rshard...we can share the fancy scales that @AandL linked to!

KiteMarked · 21/01/2019 10:10

7.9 lbs, which seems rather unbelievable, but I measured several times!

I tend to lose weight evenly all over, so my clothes don't feel looser yet, but I look forward to what happens in week 2.

I'm feeling better from the carb flu as well, so it's a good start to the week. :)

KiteMarked · 21/01/2019 10:11

@BIWI the spreadsheet is missing 28 January weigh-in.

BIWI · 21/01/2019 10:28

Thanks for letting me know, @KiteMarked - I'll pass that on to @AthelstaneTheUnready

... and well done!!! Star

3lb loss for me. I'm not a big loser so pleased with this. However, may avoid the thread for today as it can be demotivating see all those lucky big first week losses. Don't want to lose my focus by comparing myself!

m0therofdragons · 21/01/2019 10:34

I'm 1lb down. On Saturday I was 4lb down then had a great Saturday so was disappointed in Sunday morning when I'd gone up and the loss was only 2lb. That was followed by a visit from my parents with dessert and cakes for tea and I spiralled. Back to being sensible today and remembering I have my period so that will affect my loss. Feels like I'm starting again so am disheartened. I'm an intelligent woman so how can I be so thick when it comes to weight loss? Sad

BIWI · 21/01/2019 10:39

Well you're not the only one @m0therofdragons!

Just get back on the wagon and be extra vigilant - keep those carbs low, drink the water and eat plenty of fat. If you can, do some (more) exercise.

3.4 down for me, delighted with that!
