Morning all!

We have four weeks left; time, still, to lose at least another 4lbs or so

Here's the Spreadsheet

Hopefully some good results to report!

Afternoon, all!

Hope all is well. Just popping in to say hello and to encourage everyone to koko.

Today is Week 5 of bc - I'm so serious about this that I'm not even doing bc lite but am sticking to straight bc. It's working - my abdomen definitely feels flatter and some of my belly fat is melting away...

ASDismynormality · 24/02/2018 12:43

ilove. Hope the itching stops soon. I suffered from hives a couple of years ago, my GP prescribed Cetirizine for about 4 months and it eventually settled and thankfully hasn’t returned.

My anxiety is really high at the moment and I’m either bingeing like I did on Thursday or having to force myself to eat like yesterday when I managed 70g of nuts and a cup of miso soup.

ASDismynormality · 24/02/2018 12:44

On the plus side I bought myself a size 12 Boden denim skirt and it actually does up! Obviously doesn’t fit properly but not too far off!

Rshard · 24/02/2018 12:54

Thanks blunt, I’ll sort myself a little programme of abs exercises. I’ve just been for a run actually, at a swim gala with dd so escaped out into the sun, was lovely. I’m going to try some inner thighs exercises too, perhaps alternate with the abs. I do yoga too but haven’t since January as I cut and fractured my finger and it’s still not healed sufficiently to do lots of the postures but it will do soon enough. Thanks for your advice.

Woo woo ASD, size 12!

TerfsUp · 24/02/2018 13:16

Congrats, ASD! I still can't yet do up a size 14 so a size 12 is still a dream...

Rayna37 · 24/02/2018 13:26

Lots of great energy and positivity here! I smashed out a new 5k post-baby PB again at parkrun this morning; hadn't expected to improve as ran the same course in the same conditions only last week. Most proud of not walking at all, thought that was still a way off, and only just over 30 minutes now!
Normally just have a tea or coffee before a morning run but was unusually hungry and we'd run out of cream so just had a boiled egg and felt great! Did a gym induction yesterday and while I thought I was only really intending to use the elliptical machine I do like the idea of getting a programme for weights, think it would really help tone everything and build strength for running.

Destinysdaughter · 24/02/2018 13:54

Ooh lots of great success stories here!

I'm down 2 pounds this week which is great and has certainly helped renew my motivation 😀

Also, have booked a holiday to Marrakech in mid April, so hope to have lost another half stone by then. Have always wanted to go and although I went to India by myself for 4 months some years ago, Morocco isn't a place I'd go as a single woman. Fortunately DP is 6ft 3, so I shall feel safe with him! Sad but true...

Destinysdaughter · 24/02/2018 14:11

Was reading the blood sugar diet thread and someone mention these lentil noodles, can't figure out the carb content but they look interesting, has anyone come across them?

BrassicaBabe · 24/02/2018 14:16

They look high (for us) carb to me. With 20.5g per 100g

Rshard · 24/02/2018 14:29

That’s fab rayna! I did 6.5k earlier which is the furthest I’ve done in a while. Weather was so lovely and i felt good so carried on!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 24/02/2018 15:12

Destiny - have you tried the konjac noodles? They're very low everything. They come in some kind of brine and MUST be washed thoroughly before use, IME, or the smell can be a bit off-putting. But after they've been thoroughly washed and warmed in boiling water, they're a pretty good vehicle for sauces etc.

Despite being good and behaving, my scales have decided I weight 5lb more than yesterday. This is, of course, preposterous. Except I did have some nuts and for some reason I seem to "hold on" to nuts :(

Guess that's another thing out the window then!

Had halloumi for lunch yesterda, hot smoked salmon salad today. Dinner today was moussaka that I'd made on Thursday, and no dessert. Mocha with double cream was breakfast.

So hopefully I'll be back on the way down tomorrow -- was so close to going below 12st, I can't give up now!

BlackMozart · 24/02/2018 15:22

Keep going thumb !
I had 2 boiled eggs with 5 asparagus spears and a little melted butter. It was lovely and I haven’t needed any lunch!
I have made the chocolate brownies from Sarah Flower’s book and when BIWI does the desserts thread I can add it there.
Have had one. Recipe said it makes 9 but they would be huge so I made 12. They are a v different texture obviously from a real brownie but not bad as a safe chocolate cake treat.

Destinysdaughter · 24/02/2018 15:30

I've tried those no carb noodles before, was not a fan...😀

Been reading the blood sugar diet threads, god it sounds really hard! Everyone is complaining about how hungry they feel! I've never felt hungry on this diet, in fact today, I haven't eaten until 3 as I was full up from my steak last night. Just had yoghurt, berries and seeds and that'll do me till about 7 I think.

BlackMozart · 24/02/2018 15:42

It’s 800 calories a day isn’t it on the Blood Sugar Diet?

BlackMozart · 24/02/2018 15:44

Are these losing loads of weight though? I guess it’s possible to stick to if you see v fast results. Weather’s a bit cold for that low I reckon although I had been thinking about it myself. Might go and check out what they are saying...

Destinysdaughter · 24/02/2018 16:08

They are losing weight but seem to have more problems with temptation and cheating than we do. Also you have to count calories and I know for me I just CBA!Grin

prettybird · 24/02/2018 16:16

Nigella's flourless chocolate lime cake is in the oven as I type. I used erythritol rather than caster sugar. The nutrition data on the packaging says 100g carb and 100g polyols per 100g Confused - but in the Tom Kerridge book, he describes it as "sugar alcohols" so I'll hope that it's ok for an odd treat on Boot Camp Light (in the same way that the odd drink is ok). It has zero calories not that we count calories Wink

I'll use inulin instead of icing sugar and just use lime juice without the tequila which I don't have anyway in the marguerite cream to serve with it.

BlackMozart · 24/02/2018 17:00

Sarah Flower recommends erythitol as well prettybird so I think it must be fine.

BlackMozart · 24/02/2018 17:01

Love to know what that cake tastes like as well. It’s good to know there are acceptable substitutes.

Twoo · 24/02/2018 17:04

Great photo progress World. You’re looking great!

ASD , being in a 12 sure is positive progress. Well done!

Twoo · 24/02/2018 17:04

Posted too soon.

I find it really inspiring & motivating to read everyone’s journeys. Thank you for sharing.

Rayna37 · 24/02/2018 18:02

Just seen this on Twitter it's on tomorrow

@BBCRadio4 12.30: a dramatic food story -the scientist who told the world, “I got it wrong, I hurt people, I’m sorry”. Hear @ProfTimNoakes explain why he risked his career to go from carb-loading advocate to Low-Carb High-Fat convert. Is he right? With @DrMichaelMosley

Looks like it has a running focus but should be interesting. If anyone hasn't come across Tim Noakes work he's basically South Africa's champion of this WoE.

prettybird · 24/02/2018 18:30

LeapinLizards · 24/02/2018 19:38

Enjoy the breach prettybird! A worthy celebration indeed Grin.
world those pics are great. You've lost a lot in just a month - it's really noticeable when you're wearing the same clothes.
I've just made fathead pizza for the first time and it was a success! (I often seem to have disastrous first attempts at LC recipes possibly because I'm not a good cook). I really like it & am delighted it's tasty cos pizza is such a nice treat thing to eat. Fathead is insanely filling, though. Much more so than normal pizza, I think.
