Week 5 - Low Carb Bootcamp - The Big Stick is Back!

BIWI · 05/02/2018 06:42

Morning all!

Many thanks to @prettybird and @BerylStreep for running this Bootcamp so well, so far. It's been a bit weird watching from the sidelines Grin

However, I'm back. Back in the UK, back at work and back on the wagon.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for this week

I've noticed that there's quite a bit of 'slippage' going on over the last week or so. I know that we're able to move on to Bootcamp Light now, but be very, very careful that this doesn't lead to too many carbs. And remember to keep the water and the fat up.

Good luck this week

That's twice I've seen FLGV mentioned today. What is it?

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 05/02/2018 19:14

Twoo · 05/02/2018 19:37

Thank you for adding me to the spreadsheet Beryl.

Scabbers’ you’ve really been in the war ... hope you feel better soon.

Anyone else feel a little disappointed when you get to the last post on the thread .... sat tapping fingers, waiting to refresh with the hope that there are lots more posts Grin

Scabbersley · 05/02/2018 19:39

Thanks, it's not been a great few days. I'm afraid dh brought me a bottle of ginger beer home which was delicious and seems to have settled the old tum.

Rshard · 05/02/2018 19:59

Glad you’re feeling a bit better scabbers

AuntTrotwood · 05/02/2018 20:20

I've namechanged recently but I have been on the threads!

I'm down 3lb this week, which makes a total of 8lbs since the start of BC. Met another of my mini milestones, so i'm now under 12st 10. Next stop 12.7

Choo choo!

DakotaFanny · 05/02/2018 20:25

Oh my god. Just made celeriac dauphinois- ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Feel like I’ve had a proper treat!!! Thank you thank you thank you!

BlackMozart · 05/02/2018 20:51

Evening all! Thank you to beryl and prettybird and welcome back BIWI’
I am doing fine with Drybuary so far and it’s book club tomorrow evening and our very belated Christmas outing but I’ve offered to drive to get round the temptation 😇
Well done Twoo and wishing scabbersley no more mishaps with teeth and food.
I am finally back to where I’d got to before Christmas which in one sense is very frustrating but in another I’m probably now being more disciplined and hopefully will start moving downwards. I am building up to a ‘no dairy except butter’ stint by finishing off my crustless quiche today and tomorrow it will be eggs for breakfast, chicken for lunch and steak I think for dinner.
On the Sunday Brunch on channel 4 they had a coffee expert on and he talked about coconut oil in coffee, and served up something delicious that was filter coffee with matcha powder, cacao powder and coconut milk I think. The guests seemed to love it so might be worth looking up.

SoMuchToBits · 05/02/2018 21:09

I think it's a kind of green tea, Beryl. They always seemed to be using it in Masterchef Australia last year...

Alwaysinmyheart · 05/02/2018 21:26

I made some yummy buttery almond flour crackers tonight and had them with mushroom pate made with cream cheese.

I just love how you can eat such delicious food on this WOE! 😀

headoutofthesand · 05/02/2018 22:02

I'm back in the zone!
B - rocket with olive oil & Parmesan
L - pork belly with greens
S - two boiled eggs, purple sprouting & sprouts
Snacks - chunk of cheddar
Water - not quite enough but will have another pint before I go to bed

I coined "FLGV" as, after reading the rules & the first week or so of posts, I realised I couldn't think of this as high fat/low carb but low carb and a fuck load of green veg.

AuntTrotwood · 05/02/2018 22:12

Also a NSV to report- i bought some black jeans in a 14 this weekend and managed to get straight into them, with no denim stretching lunges or squats needed!

Hopefully in another couple of stones i could slither into a size 12. Been a long time since that happened!

Twoo · 05/02/2018 22:50

Fabulous Aunt’. All these NSV are great aren’t they!

MumOfAPickle · 05/02/2018 23:47

Evening, checking in with today's food:
B: flax meal bread with butter
L: chicken casserole with broccoli (I even picked out all the carrots!)
D: bolognese sauce with salad
S: low carb choc truffles with a few raspberries
W: about 2 litres and 5 cups herbal/fruit tea

Weighed this morning and 2lb down from last week so another lb off in total - I'm at 6lb this bc which I'm really pleased with as I have had a few alcohol related slips. Not this weekend though - much quieter and therefore easier to stay on track.
Well done all for losses and kokoing

Week 5 here we go Grin

YoLoHogwomanay · 06/02/2018 00:30

lol at the denim lunges and squats aunt. I know them well Grin

scabbers ginger tea and peppermint tea are also good for settling tums. and carb free. Grin

twoo i struggle to keep up! But then i binge read and post, then am away busy with work or DC for many hours often days

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 06/02/2018 06:06

Could someone add me to the spreadsheet at 216.2? It’s 1/2lb up from last week, which is the result of the food at the funeral and the following day, but a nice neat 2lbs above the overweight category, so that will be my aim for this week. Again :)

Rshard · 06/02/2018 06:19

Those crackers sound lovely always, is there a recipe?

Great NSV aunt

Yesterday’s food
B - salmon avo buttery spinach
L - tuna salad mayo
D - frittata with spinach asparagus courgette, tiny bit of green pepper and goats cheese, rocket

Wh0KnowsWhereTheT1meG0es · 06/02/2018 07:29

I use matcha powder as tea sometimes. It's a weird flavour, slightly seaweedy but quite nice. It's a bugger to dissolve though, I have to use one of those handheld milk frothing things. Also very expensive, but you only use a tiny amount, maybe 1/8 tsp at a time, so price per cup probably not too bad.
