Sorry for the later start than usual

Here's the Spreadsheet .

So our last two weeks - time, if you wanted, to go back to Bootcamp proper and really make sure you maximise the chances of losing another few pounds.

Good luck all Flowers

You know you've been low carb for a loooong time when your youngest child pokes at the white stuff on his plate and asks what it is. It was rice! Confused

Scabbersley · 05/12/2017 18:58

I am soo tired and think I might be getting a cold. Have craved sweet things today, oddly. So I bought some strawberries and raspberries and had a few chopped up in a pot of total. Sat on the sofa and watched TV while eating it and it felt quite comforting!

B: avocado with mayo
L: zero noodles egg chicken spinach broccoli soy
S: Greek yogurt with berries
D: brussels and butter, piece of camembert.

Grimbles · 05/12/2017 19:29

Oooh oooh oooh.

I just got on the scale and saw 12!!!!!

I have been a bit low on the water today so it may be dehydration (and it will be back up in the 13's tomorrow), but I'm still ridiculously pleased.

Finally!

BlackMozart · 05/12/2017 19:39

Evening all. I weighed in Wednesday last week having forgotten on the Tuesday so will try and remember. I am leaving the house at crack of dawn as I need to get half way round the M25 - oh joy!

furry I also loved the idea of a perpendicular roll. It sounds like something you’d see on Strictly!

secret you sound as if you are making some great choices. You are right it is a very different WOE but once you have your head around it - in my case especially breakfast because I used to live on toast - then it is a really good way to eat. What I like best is that I am never bloated or over full and I definitely (after the first couple of weeks) am eating much less and rarely feel hungry. Breaking old and familiar habits is the key. People are very very supportive and helpful on here and when necessary apply a strategically placed foot to the backsides of those who are owning being ‘carby twats’. All good fun and for those on here like me who still have a long way to go it is great to know others are in the path too. 😊

BlackMozart · 05/12/2017 19:40

On the path obvs

ilovecherries · 05/12/2017 19:45

Think I've caught the bootcamp lurgy. :(. Suddenly got a sore throat and feeling achey and hot.

Mimosa1 · 05/12/2017 19:49

Well done grimbles, exciting :-)

Prettybird I've been meaning to ask how the egg fast went! Did you find it ok? Did you bother to make some of the more exotic egg dishes? I saw some on a US site that had snickerdoodle pancakes made entirely of eggs, cream cheese and artificial sweeteners that actually looked pretty good. And if you don't mind my asking, how much did you lose on it?

Rshard · 05/12/2017 20:27

Just checking in with my food to everyone and welcome to secret
Well done on that 12 grimbles!
Sorry to hear that more boot campers have the lurgy Flowers

So,
B - bacon avo
L - tuna salad mayo
D - chicken chorizo pie (no pastry for me) broccoli

Will there be a koko thread for over the Christmas period??

Thiswillbemyusername · 05/12/2017 20:47

@ilovecherries I've got a sore throat too and someone else mentioned they did yesterday, i wonder if it's the same strain making the rounds (sorry biology nerd)

Meals today:

B: 4 devilled eggs
L: celery and cream cheese
D: chicken ceasar salad

I am so tired today after a restless night and gym sessions earlier. I really want to enjoy my toddler free time but i think I'm just going to go to sleep Bear

Gammeldragz · 05/12/2017 22:13

I'm just getting over the bootcamp lurgy, it has gone from sore throat to lingering cough and snottiness. DH has it now (worse, of course). Hope you all feel better soon.

Today's food
2pm - Greek yogurt, cream and cinnamon.
5:30pm - chili con carne, courgette fried in butter, soured cream.
7pm - brandy coffee with cream (still medicinal)

Trying to plan Christmas dessert. Was going to make my normal tiramisu and o ly eat it when I'm off-plan, but I'm worried it will be too sweet. Tried looking for low carb dessert recipes but everything that looked fancy enough had a million ingredients and/or loads of weird and wonderful sweeteners... Maybe I'll just buy some oppo ice cream!

HolgerDanske · 05/12/2017 22:19

It’s not low carb, but my favourite shop bought dessert at the moment is the M&S mandarin trifle. I’m going to have some after Christmas dinner this year. It would be perfect as a light pudding after a big meal, and there’s no prep involved! Yes it’s got sugar in it but it’s not heavy or stodgy and not overly sweet either, and I’m going to have a smallish portion. If you don’t want a store bought one maybe you could make your own with orange jelly, a very thin layer of sponge (or omit altogether) and lots of fresh cream plus mandarin segments?

BlackMozart · 05/12/2017 23:00

I think I am going to make my chocolate coconut cream pot for myself (posted on here a few pages back I think ) because it is v carb friendly, v rich so an expresso cup size is enough, and crucially I can make one or two at a time so don’t end up going back for more.

I’ll probably get a Yule log for eldest DS and DD and they will eat any chocolates lurking around and youngest DD likes crumble! DH doesn’t eat pudding preferring cheese. No one really wants Christmas pud here but I do have a really nice pear and ginger upside down cake recipe so that seems appropriately seasonal...hmm quite a few puds then !!

starsky22 · 05/12/2017 23:17

I think I'm going to make this for Christmas Day, using oppo ice-ceam and dark chocolate:
recipes.sainsburys.co.uk/recipes/desserts/homemade-viennetta
Should be relatively low carb, but not some weird low carb dessert that no one else will eat. Plus we always had Vienetta at Christmas, so it feels chrismassy to me!

Scabbersley · 06/12/2017 03:14

I am making ottelenghis cinnamon pavlova with figs and praline cream.
mozart that pear and ginger pudding sounds lovely. I have a really good caramel and plum upside down cake, I might make that as well for anyone who doesn't like pavlova. I am looking forward to the cheeseboard!!

Rshard · 06/12/2017 06:46

I’m making a non low carb pudding, a concoction known as waffle berry pudding. I’m planning to take Christmas Day off, so will enjoy it. Dh is wondering whether a roast potato is going to send me off on one having not eaten any! We shall see!

I’m a bit bored of salad for work lunches, so I’ve packed some Brussels to microwave. I work in an open plan office so I'll be popular

SayrraT · 06/12/2017 07:47

I wish I liked Brussels sprouts! I'm tempted to try them again just to see.

Couldn't decide what to have for breakfast so I had chia porridge with almond milk. It's quite good, nice having something warm.

Rshard · 06/12/2017 07:52

There have been some converts on this boot camp sayyra

Rshard · 06/12/2017 07:52

Your porridge sounds lovely btw

Thiswillbemyusername · 06/12/2017 08:07

@Rshard your post made chuckle Grin

Rshard · 06/12/2017 09:48

I’m glad thiswillbe - it’s a massive office, whole floor of a building.....

blackteaplease · 06/12/2017 09:59

I'm a sprout convert thanks to BC

Scabbersley · 06/12/2017 10:01

Yeah, love sprouts now! I like them really nuked with butter in the microwave then with cheese on top

ASDismynormality · 06/12/2017 10:06

Another sprout lover here, one of the main reasons is because I buy them in the packs that you pierce and pop straight in the microwave for 3 mins - so easy!

New low yesterday so tracking has got me back on track. Also some jeans that gave me a muffin top last week are fitting much better today.

Rshard · 06/12/2017 10:24

Nice NSV there ASD

I’m seeing the sprouts as revenge for all the sweets, chocolates and mince pies that are all over the place!
