I love this week, because this is when all the naysayers and doubters realise that this WOE really works!

(... and those who've cheated realise that that really doesn't work Wink)

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for you to record your first loss

I missed most of this weekend as I have my very lovely SIL staying with us, prior to her leaving for a 6 month stint in Australia. So I haven't been able to be as glued to the laptop as I am usually.

Glad to hear that some of you have reported in good losses already - I'll look forward to hearing the rest today!

Good luck everyone, for this second week. Hopefully after a good first week you'll know it's worth it Flowers

5.8lb down here but also chronic insommnia. I am so tired.

Mimosa1 · 16/10/2017 10:39

400g/1lb down to get to 79.6kg. I'm quite pleased with that as I've been doing BC light this week and had a big bday in the middle with cake - my DH has been having a slice of the leftovers every night in front of the TV and it's not been an issue for me, now THAT is an NSV. No big plans this week so it should be easier to stick to bootcamp properly. I'm only 1.6 kg to my pre baby weight and 5kg to a healthy BMI so this is undoubtedly worth sticking to.

On a separate note, I recently noticed that this ready-made bolognese I occasionally buy for my toddler is 3.2g of carbs per 100g so have started eating it too GrinBiwi, is that ok? Or maybe just for BC Light? You don't need a full pot over courgette, i don't think. I had some for dinner last night over courgette and it's really good. Needs a bit of seasoning and I like it with grated cheese but for those who were saying they needed some quick hot lunches, might be a good one to have as back up? It's about £3 per pot and I get it on Ocado. Link below.

Congratulations on all the losses. For those who haven't lost, sounds like a silly thing but have you checked your scales? I have very uneven bathroom floors and horrible lino and depending on where you put the scales, your weight fluctuates by 2-3 kg, so I've now found a particularly tile and I meticulously line up the scales with the corners! Need to find a right piece of clothing to squeeze back into and see it get looser. Annoyingly I had a huge wardrobe clear out recently, so will have to have a hunt around.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 16/10/2017 10:54

Finally got around to weighing in and have lost 1.4 lbs. Have been LCHF for a fair while so didn't expect a massive "first" week.

For me it's a good result I wanted a 2 lb loss. Grin

LtheWife · 16/10/2017 11:02

A 2.2lb loss for me. I'm happy with that as I'm sticking to bootcamp light, started a couple of days late and haven't had as much water as I should have (I'll try harder, off to fill my glass right now!).

By this time next week I should have reversed the carb creep that happened during my house move and can work towards seeing the scales start with a 9 again.

GailLondon · 16/10/2017 11:05

2lb down! Very happy as have been on a plateau for the past couple of weeks

thedayismine · 16/10/2017 11:06

Just checking in to say well done to all those losers ! Some absolutely storming results - it so works !!
I am not going to weigh this week because I worry about the disappointment/ self sabotage cycle when I am currently feeling strong !
I am however going to take some measurements and pics to help with NSVs too .

Today -
B - egg muffin
S - BPC
L - hmmmm tuna salad with avocado I think
D - gammon with mashed swede and green beans
Gallons of water ....
I have however had two cups of tea already - needed it to get me out on the school run this morning!

RubyGoat · 16/10/2017 11:10

I'm another who is quite small at just under 5'3" & a small frame (I take a size 3 shoe & can wear children's watches, gloves etc). But I'm a funny shape - hourglass if you go by shoulders/ribs/waist/hips, but I've always had a small bust so some people would consider me a pear. According to the BMI calculators that take frame size into consideration, I should be about 7st7lb - 8st10lb ish.

I have lost 1.5 lb this week, although the scales did actually show a lower weight earlier in the week. I now officially have less than a stone to go to my pre-pregnancy weight, hurrah! I have previously lost about 3 stone on other diets, including Paul McKenna, 5:2, & low fat/low cal using MFP. Was ok but long-term 5:2 seems to trigger my IBS, PM is only effective up to a certain point, & calorie counting is very time consuming & I get a bit obsessive about it.

C4rollinandventing · 16/10/2017 11:11

Reporting a 4.2lb loss here, very happy with that.

Carbydiem time to get refocused and mix it up a bit, why not have a fishy week, add in some tofu and try some different veg. There are lots of recipes out there for low carb fish dishes. I love a fish pie topped with mashed cauliflower or celeriac with fish pieces wallowing in a lovely creamy parsley and dill sauce underneath.
KOKO bitch and tell that fat to piss right off

Almahart · 16/10/2017 11:15

6ibs off! Very happy

I haven't really been enjoying what I've been eating much though am getting sick of meat and am going to trawl through recipe thread for veggie recipes this lunchtime

78Ash · 16/10/2017 11:15

What's the deal with waking up for a pee between 3am and half past? Rarely have to get up normally but that's beeen happening all week (apart from last night when I was dead to the world).

Silly question - how much cream is acceptable in a coffee? For couple of cups a day I've been fluctuating between the standard Irish coffee measure (heaps - but without the booze and sugar) and just enough to turn it mid brown. Aside from that either black or just hot water.

BrassicaBabe · 16/10/2017 11:24

Any other ideas as to what to do with Greek yoghurt for breakfast please? Tried it this morning Envyyuck. Tried it with a little vanilla extract. Still yuck

maybeitsbecauseim · 16/10/2017 11:25

A big well done to everyone for KOKO-ing! We'll all get there together!

I have really enjoyed reading the threads and the super-supportive atmosphere. Mumsnet at its best :) Have run out of willpower on my last few diet attempts and am determined to stick with this one. The WOE does feel much more manageable than the utterly depressing world of calorie counting.

I managed 3.8lb this week, which I am very pleased with, particularly as that included staying (mostly) on track during a 2-day work trip. Two NSVs: my jeans fill a bit loose now (they are my "fat" jeans, but it's a step in the right direction!) and I managed to avoid multiple offers of cake and pizza at a kids' birthday party last night.

A couple of questions, if I may. Some people have mentioned using stevia, but when I looked at the packaging in the supermarket it - and all other sugar alternatives - were 90+% carbs. Am I missing something? Is there some kind of sugar alternative that can be used (eg in cooking) once we are out of the first two weeks of BC?

Also, greek yoghurt. I bought a massive tub, but having looked at ingredients it is over 6g of carbs /100g. So presumably not allowed. Are there some brands that are OK?

BIWI · 16/10/2017 11:28

@NSEA

Breakfast: 2 egg omelette with mushrooms cooked in butter

Perfect LCHF breakfast!

Lunch: tuna or chicken and (boring) cheese salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) with mayo

Sounds OK - but might be worth adding an oil-based dressing to the salad as well, as both tuna and chicken are relatively low fat.

Tea: some kind of meat (salmon/chicken/sausages) with either carrot/swede mash/brocoli/cauliflower/peas.

You shouldn't be eating carrots and peas on Bootcamp! Both are too carby. The other veg is fine.

Brassica I don't like yogurt on its own - unless it's in sauces or dips or food of some, kind, I mean - and especially not Greek yogurt, so I don't have it for breakfast (not sure that helps, but, well, it's my only advice, mainly because I don't think you should make yourself eat things you really don't like).

Next week you will be able to add in some berries. But might it be worth thinking of something else to have for breakfast for this week?

ASDismynormality · 16/10/2017 11:35

78Ash. The night time weeing will calm down, it's just your body getting rid of your fluid retention.

brassica. How about a bit of cinnamon and cream.

may. I would still eat that yoghurt but try Total next time, I'm pretty sure that's one of the lowest in carbs.

78Ash · 16/10/2017 11:43

That's good to hear @ASDismynormality. Disturbed sleep isn't good!

C4rollinandventing · 16/10/2017 11:48

NSV to report, I've had to consign four pairs of trousers to the charity bag because they look beyond ridiculous and I've decided that I have to go through the whole wardrobe and have a trying on session (not very easy for me) and only keep what actually fits me or is a bit tight. Somewhere there is a huge bag of my old clothes which I think I will get out when the scales hit 9st something.

I just found an envelope in my study with some cash inside and a note from DH saying " well done, so proud of you, please go and buy some clothes that fit so that you can show off your beautiful figure. I don't care if we have to do this again in a few months but you deserve to show off the results of your hard work and most of all see them for yourself every time you look in a mirror".

Veryflummoxed · 16/10/2017 11:53

Thanks Cleareyes I have tried before with no success but I’ll look again

I’ve noticed the lchf dreams starting to creep in. I had one with a bit of a twist last night. I got very excited when I discovered my kitchen had a hidden fridge. I was then very annoyed to find everyone else knew about it and had kept it secret from me.

C4 what a lovely DH you have.

HolgerDanske · 16/10/2017 11:53

Awwww give your DH a squeeze from me, that is lovely and so nice of him to acknowledge your hard work and to make that gesture! I'm lucky, too, to have a very considerate and supportive fiancé who loves me however I look and whatever size I am but who is very, very happy when I am happy and feeling good.

Congratulations! And definitely go and get yourself some lovely clothes that fit you as you are right now, so you can celebrate the progress you have made.

wecantallbeperfect · 16/10/2017 11:59

C4 that's so lovely of your DH Smile

Scabbersley · 16/10/2017 12:03

wecantallbeperfect I so want to do this workout but we have really low ceilings!! So annoying

CremeDeSudo · 16/10/2017 12:04

Another one a bit disappointed this morning. 1.7lb loss. I was hoping for at least 2.

Hoping it's due the amount of cream I was consuming last week and this week will be better. I'm sure I've followed everything else aside from the odd cup of tea in work with green milk.

I'm not sure what else it could be?

NSEA · 16/10/2017 12:08

@biwi. Thank you! I had no idea peas were carby. Will not eat carrots either then!

Mimosa1 · 16/10/2017 12:12

C4 that's so lovely of your DH! What sort of thing do you have your eye on?

I also have a trouser related NSV. The size 18s I bought late June to go to a work KIT day are now also consigned to the charity shop bag. That's 6kg ago and I'm really pleased. I only wore them once but who cares! I hated having to choose the only trousers in the shop that fit me even though I didn't like them (scratchy material). I lose weight v v slowly in my bottom half (cankles/pear shape) so going down a trouser size is a big deal. Unfortunately, size 16s do up but the size zip keeps popping open at inconvenient times Grin
Onwards and upwards!

ShastaBeast · 16/10/2017 12:20

Whoop. Well done everyone. First week done. It's easier the second time round.

I didn't believe my scales so bought new batteries and a mechanic scale. It seemed ok first thing this morning - 2lb down, but after the gym its another 1lb down. I'm going with the 2lb. As for the mechanical scale - I need my glasses as I can't see the true measurement. Doh.

I might be out for dinner Friday so will try not to slip too much. Planning a big slip up just before the final weigh in - my birthday and I should be very close to ideal weight so double celebration. Staying with a friend next month so need to prep for that - she has her own special diet so will have to plan together.

Struggling to finish breakfast of lemony creamy yoghurt so not sure about lunch. Chicken cacciatore for dinner - skin on thighs, tinned toms and mascapone nom nom. Will serve with veggies.
