littlebillie they are 61g carbs/100g?

Well done on 10lb off Shock

littlebillie · 09/09/2017 09:01

I have around 4 per day they are very slim and light so the carb count is tiny

littlebillie · 09/09/2017 09:03

3.8g per slice

Temporaryanonymity · 09/09/2017 09:07

I have just hopped on the scales. I have lost 5kg since 21 August. I am so pleased.

Mimosa1 · 09/09/2017 09:29

Well done Temporary!

C4 - that baby is delicious! Congratulations to you and your family.

I need the extra motivation from this thread today. I'm up 600g on the scales from yesterday (I thought I'd been v good on my work KIT day but possibly more carby than I thought), my husband and daughter are having a divine-smelling hot buttery toast breakfast and I'm in potty training HELL.

As everyone keeps saying though, what's the alternative? KOKO. We're home all day (see PT hell above) so I'll have time to cook. Celeriac dauphinoise and cheesecake here I come!

YoLoZammo · 09/09/2017 09:33

Goddamn you c4 you are making me broody. I so miss baby cuddles. Have to wait until I am a grandmother Sad not that I want to push my adult DC into reproducing just yet

boldlygoingsomewhere · 09/09/2017 09:52

Just catching up with you all as I fell off the last bootcamp thread - work and life got a bit manic and I wasn't online.

C4, Alfie is gorgeous! I miss little baby cuddles.

I'm still trying to keep on this WOE but am struggling with carb cravings - I can keep up with bootcamp style eating for about 8 weeks and then I suddenly get an absolutely overwhelming urge for bread. It's really bizarre and comes out of the blue but all I can think about is bread and it is only helped by eating a slice or two. I'm wondering if this is something which is related to my PCOS - maybe I can't do bootcamp style eating for too long? I think I may have to allow myself a slightly higher carb day every month with some potato or something. My stomach just balloons though and it's all so disheartening.

Anyone else had this?

Gorgeous baby C4!

Weighed this morning and I'm 3 lbs down on Monday's weight. And that is with some wine some evenings. Happy enough with that.

Boldlygoing - sort of. I'm not sure I've ever got to 8 weeks though. I read a book years ago - Carbohydrates Addict I think - and they recommended one day a week where you eat what you like including carbs. I think it was by Dan and Mary Eades. I had forgotten about it but Gary Taubes mentions it in his book 'Why we get fat". My worry would be that if I have bread that's it. I just want more and more. But yes maybe some other carbs occasionally might help.

FinallyHere · 09/09/2017 11:13

Giraffski I am a big fan of chorizo, and vary the dauphinois sometimes to avoid the dairy overload, basically roasting it in chunks with olive/coconut oil, seasoned with chorizo and thyme. Takes about an hour on high, is delicious and dairy free.

Boldlgoingsomewhere i get that absolute craving for carbs sometimes. Have you ever tried not satisfying the craving, just to see what happens? I got the idea from heree* , essentially treating the craving like a cross toddler, becoming more insistent the more i ignore it. Distraction can help, but to break the craving you 'just' have to prove to it, that you are stronger than it. Simple, but not easy.

It comes back in lots of different guises, with subtle differences that i don't always recognise. Every time, it shows up with an absolutely plausible reason why i 'have to' eat it. The more i observe, rather than gratify, it, the weaker it becomes. Finally, like a sulky toddler, it gives in and stops screaming 'i want, i want...'. Just like a staring competition, once i notice what is happening, I find the strength to stare it down and defeat it.

The feeling when that 'got to eat it, it's for my ...' slinks away, defeated , is second to none. I understand it as literally building self esteem and it's great. Would love to hear you get on with it...

ilovecherries · 09/09/2017 11:16

Boldly, out of the blue I had a bread craving the other night. Came from nowhere, hadn't even been thinking about bread. It made me really grumpy but I told my brain to FRO and eat in if it was hungry - still plenty of fat there! It passed. I woke up the next morning and it was fine. I don't believe it was my body telling me it needed something that only bread could supply, I think it was just my brain took a fancy to something and tried to trick me into having it. The reality is bread wouldn't have made me feel better and zip would have regretted it after.

Oh - and I'm pretty messed up from an endocrine perspective. PCOS has gone with menopause, but it means I've got the joys of menopause, plus I've had a thyroidectomy, and I suspect I was pre-diabetic. And I still believe bread is never the answer! :)

I fell into the peanut butter jar last night... Broke one of my SSS rules. Two actually, I also had cream from the tub. I'm blaming totm for that. Otherwise I have had a very good week. Weight not down much but not up either. KOKO.
Well done on all the losses, everyone who posted them.
I'm considering exercise... My sister, who is LC with me, is running every day and putting me to shame! Maybe we will run together when she's over this weekend. I prefer swimming but don't get the chance very often. But I suppose I really need to plan it into my week and get on with it!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 09/09/2017 11:47

Thank you, ilove, Finally and cider. I'll see what happens next time - I think I'll experiment by having a slightly larger amount of carbs once a fortnight and see if that stops the craving.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 09/09/2017 12:47

Hi I'm back from my holiday in a wet n windy west wales, beautiful but a bit remote - no phone signal, wifi slo-ooow.
I've loads of your posts to catch up with and will try to sit down later today to read all your posts

C4 Alfie looks gorgeous!!

I've lost only a slight amount 5,6 to 5.2 lb but I tried hard to stick to bc rules perhaps I made up for the lack of veg and salad ((the only supermarket was a coop) by eating more yogurt and cream cheese. A pub meal was steak or chicken and a salad was a few bits of lettuce and tomatoes if I said I was low carbing I got offered the low fat option. So, I'm off to Sainsbury's to stock up

On a good note I tried on my size 14 jeans and they fit!!!! They've probably stretched though!

BIWI · 09/09/2017 13:08

@littlebillie - that's nearly 16g carbs just from those biscuits! That's way, way too much.

You should be getting the majority of your carbs from vegetables and salad, not processed carbs.

Veryflummoxed · 09/09/2017 13:31

Oooh I've got eight too C4, and Alfie is totally gorgeous. Lovely photo of you as well. Congratulations.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 09/09/2017 14:31

I'm going for an Indian tonight. Unlicensed place, so taking red wine. I'm thinking of having the tandoori half chicken as it comes with salad. Any other good options? I usually order lamb saag and don't have the rice, naan etc but fancy branching out.

lisbapalea · 09/09/2017 16:13

Inspired by prettybitd I am making lasagne with courgette strips and using a ricotta / egg mix instead of bechamel. Trouble is it doesn't look very much - will it be weird if I add some thick single cream to extend it?

wombattoo · 09/09/2017 16:16

hippa what about a vegetable side dish? Anything that is a bit dry rather than covered in sauce should be ok?

I am just having my tea. Rib eye steak with mushrooms cooked in a sauce consisting of chilli, garlic paste and double cream. It really is delicious Smile

C4 That is a lovely pic of you and Alfie.

NOMORE not many people return from holiday having lost weight. That's a success right there.

Great loss Temporary

ClearEyesFullHearts · 09/09/2017 17:01

ragz if you don't make time for the exercise, it will never happen.

It's the kind of thing that needs to be in your diary. I speak from experience.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 09/09/2017 17:10

I'm currently having a staring contest with a pint of Kronenbourg. Angry

BIWI · 09/09/2017 17:10

7 weeks today until I go on holiday Shock

Mind you, there might not be anywhere to go if Irma and José have their way Sad

My first two weeks of SSS have been good in parts but not really SS. So I did a bit of meal planning for the first time in a long time, and have meals planned out for next week, courtesy of the Blood Sugar Diet recipe book. Some lovely recipes in there that are low carb and also lower in calories, so will help me keep an eye on portions.

I've been managing successfully to skip breakfast every day, so that's good.

Next week, I'm moving on to Almond milk in my coffee - I've bought some at home and we always have it in the office.

And I bought some new, Autumn clothes today - nothing flash, just some stuff from Sainsbury's - and there are two pieces I definitely can't fit into quite yet! So that's something to aim for.

lisbapalea · 09/09/2017 17:26

Saag paneer is quite a good option in an Indian restaurant?

CiderwithBuda · 09/09/2017 17:31

Sounds like a plan BIWI. I have 6.5 weeks till I go to Boston and then I'm back for a week and then off to Australia for three weeks. I want to lose as much as I can.

I haven't been exercising for the last month or so - planning on getting back into it this week.
