Summersazz that is definitely an achievement to be proud of!

ilovecherries · 01/09/2017 21:50

Yes, I weight daily as well now. it makes me more relaxed round the scales because it's helped me see that I bounce around at every weight then slip down. Weekly weighing provoked a lot of anxiety.

Thanks ragz I think I'm about your size and weight and have been following your progress which is great too Smile

This is my journey this year - downs and a few ups!

Grah lol at shredded lettuce!!! Grin

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 01/09/2017 23:34

Thanks Grah 🤙

ragz134 · 01/09/2017 23:42

Summer Ups are part of the journey, well done on your progress and for sticking with it.
I'm around 5'10" (have possibly lost half an inch but refusing to admit it) and have come down from 211lbs on Jan 1st to 174lbs(12st6). Still about a stone and a half to go, would like to be under 11 stone. I remember getting down to 11 and a half in 2009 and have not been that light since. Nearly, but not quite. I've been tracking/dieting with MFP on and (mostly) off for about 6 years. As you can see on this graph, I have lost and regained many times, but this is the longest I have stuck at a WOE and the most I've lost in one go.
So LC carb wins!

I survived the wedding! Grin

Big bottles of mineral water on the tables so happily glugged through that in a wine glass and didn't get harrassed about it.

I just got home and realised I hadn't eaten since 3.30pm so made a quick stir fry. Good day.

B: 2 fried eggs in butter, rocket with oil dressing, salami slices, cheddar slices
L: greek yogurt and raspberries
S: tofu, spring onion, asparagus and mushroom stir fry with sesame oil and butter fried egg.

starsky22 · 01/09/2017 23:56

Thanks grah that's an interesting thought, will be stricter with the carbs and hopefully keep healing my gut!

Today:
B fasting
L sausages, bacon & cabbage fried in butter with a fried egg
D garlic prawns and spinach

ClearEyesFullHearts · 02/09/2017 00:01

Loving the graphs. They really tell a story.

BIWI · 02/09/2017 07:10

And a tip - don't think of them as 'gains' - just 'fluctuations' Grin

SummerSazz · 02/09/2017 07:19

wotabastard well done on the alcohol swerve. I find after about the first hour it's easier.

ragz you are taller than me - it's BMI iirc. I'm just off getting out of the overweight category and which I think you managed recently?

Hoping to go for a nice walk today - I've done no exercise in weeks.

Have a good weekend all.

Llareggub · 02/09/2017 08:42

You have inspired me to buy some scales. I usually weigh in with my PT at the gym. i want a daily graph!

One of my battles is emotional eating. i admitted it to my boyfriend two weeks ago when he wondered why my expensive PT hadnt resulted in any noticeable difference apart from my bank balance. I have been a bit out of control with it for some time.

My chap is away with work for a month and I am focusing on not emotional eating and this. Thats why I have had such a big loss initially; and the emotional eating is something I have never shared with anyone before. So it seems like a huge weight of my mind too. I even cried when I told him!

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 02/09/2017 09:12

Starsky I get IBS too and things like flavourings wheat and sugar trigger it off also stress and PMS but that's a distant memory like you say this woe has calmed it down enormously. I take a peppermint oil capsule to cut down the spasms and magnesium is good too. Have a look at Michael moselys clever guts book and Tim Spector work on gut bacteria. Kefir drink is v good for settling it down too. I don't know if it fits in with this woe or not x

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 02/09/2017 09:14

Are we having a separate thread for SSS? So we keep track of each other's targets?

ragz134 · 02/09/2017 09:31

No, only some of us are doing it and it's not official. Just post here with your own rules and target.
Wedding today. I will be LC. My sister is also so we can support (restrain) each other.

SummerSazz · 02/09/2017 09:38

Llaregub well done on sharing your emotional eating story Smile and good luck over the next month.

I have a Fitbit and fitbit scales and they all link up really well after the initial setup so no entering weights daily. It's very motivating for me and keeps me in check. After my last fitbit died I put on 2.5 stone in about 18 months Shock

C4pinkwheels · 02/09/2017 11:00

Good luck to everyone doing SSS and all of you newbies too, I love that our community is growing.

RISE OF THE SUPERBUG
as I feared when I started feeling unwell on Thursday, my UTI caused by the antibiotic resistant superbug has returned despite the super strength antibiotics, I have to wait now to see if it has become resistant to the last antibiotic that I was taking. What comes next is anybodies guess but I should imagine at some point they will want to try and zap it with IV antibiotics. That will mean an extended stay in HDU in isolation. I may go mad if this happens.

#deathtothefuckingbastardsuperbug

I've now completed my 24 hr fast and haven't felt hungry at all, I still don't feel hungry but will have some lunch. I could quite easily survive on one meal a day.

Today's food

B. Fasting
L. Yogurt
D. Meatballs, cauliflower, courgetti

Namaste Bitches

#myfatcanpissrightoff

SummerSazz · 02/09/2017 12:41

Sorry to hear you are poorly again C4 🙁. My mum has spiralia (sp?) in her lungs which is antibiotic resistant for her.

Hope they can find something to zap the bug for good x

OldBooks · 02/09/2017 12:42

llaregub (ps love the name) some of us have been chatting on a separate thread about emotional eating:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/low_carb_bootcamp/2963577-Defeating-emotional-eating

There are suggestions for resources and tactics to help.

C4 how epically shit for you Sad keep fighting

SummerSazz · 02/09/2017 13:36

NSV - I have decluttered my wardrobe today and discovered some things I can now fit into again Smile

wombattoo · 02/09/2017 13:38

Llareggub There are a few of us who have/had struggled with emotional eating. I hope you are feeling ok Thanks

C4 That is so crap. I'm keeping everything crossed that you stay out of HDU Thanks

wota Well done on your restraint at the wedding.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 02/09/2017 13:56

Cooking question--what are the best oils for frying in LCHF?

Particularly need one as flavourless as possible.

BIWI · 02/09/2017 14:48

Coconut oil is pretty good - you can buy ones that are less coconutty than others. The HFC one is good.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 02/09/2017 15:11

Thanks, BIWI. My husband got sick of our old deep fryer as he wants to make chichi for the kids and I thought it would be an opportunity to try the Parmesan courgettes again (which were a disaster when I tried to shallow fry them on holiday). He has vegetable oil in there now. Hmm...

starsky22 · 02/09/2017 16:53

Thanks nomore I find it really hard to work out what my IBS triggers are, as sometimes the symptoms may relate to something you ate a couple of meals/days ago! It is definitely better on this woe, but too much fat can be a trigger for me, so I have to be careful with that. I would really like to get tested for intolerances, have been thinking about doing the York Test, but feedback seems to be varied as to how accurate it is.

C4 good luck on defeating the superbug, it needs to piss right off along with the fat!
