I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

BIWI thanks for the explanation of what happens when we cheat. Understanding the science is really helpful.

Jiminny that's amazing - your loss and the magical power of your platelets Grin

Glad people like my gameplan! Have stuck to it today so far.

B: almond milk, 2 HB eggs mashed with butter
L: 2 poached eggs with a tiny amount of feeble salad (best the cafe could offer). I added some mayo from a sachet.
S: another mug of warm almond milk, it seems to hit the spot
T: not sure, have broccoli, cauliflower and spinach defrosting, might stir fry them with some tofu

Only had 2 pints of water today so far so need to get in another 4

Flibbertyjibbit · 12/06/2017 15:50

Ilove the water article biwi posted above mentions changes to stools, seems to be quite normal on a low-carb diet.

Copied from water article "Not to get too gross or anything, but I can remember early on when I was FORCING myself to drink about 2-3 gallons of water per day what the fecal matter looked like. It was very oily and “fatty” which, as sick as it may sound, greatly encouraged me because I knew what was coming out of me was fat, fat, fat that needed to GO! I know, TMI! YUCK!"

JiminnyCricket · 12/06/2017 16:00

YoLoZammo possibly, although to have a HLA matched donor the likelihood is he/ she has an ongoing condition like leukaemia apparently. You only get your own private platelet farm if you're extra special Grin

My employer are brilliant, I need to finish an hour early today to get there in time and it's no problem for them at all even at drop of a hat notice.

I've had soup for lunch with a coconut coffee, I've found Cully and Scully chicken and vegetable soup is only 9.6g carb for the entire 400g pot Shock it's lush too and at 15g fat it's really filling.

My beloved cheese, olive and sundried tomato skewers from Tesco weren't there this morning so I ended up buying 2 antipasti selections (little chorizo sausages, cheese cubes and sundried tomatoes) then splitting them each in half into separate pots with a toothpick in each Grin, so I've got a pot of antipasti per day for the rest of the week. I know it's mad, but I still don't trust myself with tasty snack type food so this way there's a natural stop button!

The guys at the donation centre haven't seen me since Feb, just before I started this WOE so it will be interesting to see if the weight loss is noticeable before they weigh me!

CaptainBraandPants · 12/06/2017 16:03

ilove Are you going to the toilet lots or is it just that you are fairly runny when you do go? I guess the question is whether it is bearable. Is it better or worse to how you were previously? I wonder if you persevere if it will settle down somewhat. I think I have similar, but it has settled down now I've been LCing for almost six months and it was never a big problem even at it's worse. And, much preferable to my pre-LC IBS.

So, I've googled the restaurant we are going to on Saturday and it seems to be a LCers dream come true. Smile here is the menu they apparently specialise in game. Warning - don't look if you are a vegetarian.Grin I'm looking forward to it now.

I'm getting into the swing of IF now and do think it is helping, I certainly feel thinner this last week and just generally feel really well in myself.

JiminnyCricket · 12/06/2017 16:08

Cap I'm Envy at that menu, I'd have one of everything Grin

L238 · 12/06/2017 16:14

Jim what a star with the platelet donations.
Also thanks - I love the Cully & Sully soups, the veg one is more carby but will look for the chicken

CaptainBraandPants · 12/06/2017 16:23

Jiminny you would deserve it after your platelet donation. Flowers for you and your mojo.

ilovecherries · 12/06/2017 16:26

Captain. Probably less than previously in that it's only after I eat - so twice with a bonus run if I have creamy coffee, but I've stopped that completely. However, the urgency is unbelievable, and it's ahem, explosive. None of the pain of before and I can avoid it by not eating, but that's not really ideal.

I've googled it and while it seems common it talks about it last 'a few days' and I'm definitely longer than that - probably 10-12. The solutions are different though. Some sites say it's fat malabsorption so decrease fat and increase protein slightly, others say it's a good sign and to eat MORE fat, so not really sure what's the best approach.

Between episodes I feel well.

CaptainBraandPants · 12/06/2017 16:31

ilove I think I would cut the fat down a little bit and see if it helps. Those that say it is a good sign may be right from a weight loss point of view, but if it distressing or limiting you, then however much weight loss it leads to is irrelevant.

JiminnyCricket · 12/06/2017 16:36

ilove you may have colicystitis or silent gallstones which are stopping you digesting fat well, but have no other symptoms. I had that issue for a year before I started with full on gallstones with the pain etc. I used to have your exact symptoms, worth maybe getting checked.

AdalindSchade · 12/06/2017 16:39

I'm sure that fat in your poo isn't body fat but dietary fat so it's not really a good sign. It sounds like you're not absorbing or using the fat you're eating which if that's your main source of energy isn't good. I guess you could try upping the fat to compensate but that could result in more diarrhoea.

JiminnyCricket · 12/06/2017 16:46

Cap platelet donation is a lovely experience.. i secretly love it Blush You go in, sit in a really comfy chair for 90 minutes and do whatever the hell you want as long as your arm stays still! Fabulously peaceful experience and you spend the whole time getting tea and coffee and biscuits brought to you Grin... THEN you get to milk the massive bruise on your arm for all its worth for a few days Wink

You dont even feel the needle apart from when it goes in and comes out again and as long as you dont look at the machine you wouldnt know you were hooked up :)

I do, however have a decent portion of red meat afterwards and always up my iron in my diet for a week or so, apparently can help you recover better and reduces the risk of your platelet count dropping.

Especially those ladies who like me have a BMI of 30 or above: Go to your donor centre and ask to have your veins checked to see if you can donate. It's the one time where medical professionals are happy for you to be obese because your blood volume is higher and you're more likely to be a good platelet donor Grin. If you donate blood already they can take a sample and check your veins there and then at your next donation to see if you can donate platelets, then you get a letter to say whether you can or not :)

Only 5% of the population qualify and only 0.2% are women so you get treated like a proper celeb as a woman on a platelet donor bed Grin

Naschkatze · 12/06/2017 17:31

Jim You're a Star

Adalind You're right regarding the spreadsheet; I asked because I couldn't manage to do it on my phone last week but I think I just have. I'm a bit concerned though that my only google account is my work one and I don't think I should be using it for personal things.
Can my email address etc be seen on the spreadsheet?Confused

Food today:
B - mashed avocado, poached egg and half a tomato
S- babybel, tea with milk
L - salad leaves, small chicken breast and feta cheese with a rapeseed and lemon juice dressing
D - will be Moussaka and broccoli, possibly with a few strawberries and cream for dessert.

I haven't drunk enough in water yet, 1.5l out my necessary 2.5 and I do feel thirsty so I need to get on it.

littlebillie · 12/06/2017 17:44

I'm out for a carbs fest afternoon tea on Saturday it was arranged in February how bad is my weight gain going to be?

AdalindSchade · 12/06/2017 17:47

The spreadsheet doesn't record anybody's personal anything. You are just using your google account to access and edit it.

styledilemma · 12/06/2017 17:52

Please don't all hate me! Shock
3lbs off.

littlebillie · 12/06/2017 17:54

Style I'm 3lb too but this darn afternoon tea is a set back though I'm going to enjoy it as a special occasion

explodingkittens · 12/06/2017 18:01

Omg The Jugged Hare looks fabulous! Right, am going to make a booking for my birthday Grin

JiminnyCricket · 12/06/2017 18:02

I'm hooked up and bleeding nicely Grin machine says I'll be done in 50 minutes which is faster than normal.

Iron levels are fine, I'll report back on globs of fat in plasma once my bag is a bit fuller!

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 12/06/2017 18:06

Still here, still KOKO.

Had coconut porridge for breakfast on Sunday, from the diet doctor website. While it wasn't amazing when I was eating it and a bit eggy, it kept me really really full, until about 6pm!

www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/coconut-porridge

Today's food:
B - scrambled egg & butter
L - prawn salad
D - chicken thighs & rocket salad & chilli oil.

styledilemma · 12/06/2017 18:10

Only 5% of the population qualify and only 0.2% are women so you get treated like a proper celeb as a woman on a platelet donor bed

Jiminy, can I ask what blood type you are? I believe some types are more in demand than others.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 12/06/2017 18:27

Well,
All my distractions and Hotel living should be over with for the rest of the camp. To many evenings meals out and Sandwiches and cookies for Lunch /Snacks.

Breakfast was ridiculous they wanted 8 pound for a 3 egg omelet so did butter coffee, and had the salad from the buffet.

Had to strip the top off the pizza's to get just cheese and veggie topping on 2 days.

Only 2lb gain so happy with that.

KOKO and have fun folks.

JiminnyCricket · 12/06/2017 18:28

I'm AB+ so always in demand :)

Disappointing lack of fat globs in my bag.. must eat more fat Grin

Platelet count is higher than last time I donated, iron is the same and I'll know the rest in a couple of weeks.

YoLoZammo · 12/06/2017 18:49

platelets.blood.co.uk/can-i-donate/#

I'm going to check it out. My blood group is apparently the most desired! If I can donate then I see it as doing something to help in light of the recent terrorist attacks. Have felt so helpless about this and wanted to do something but didn't know what, so thank you Jim for giving me the idea.

Veryflummoxed · 12/06/2017 18:49

That's impressive Jim glad you're back. The water article was interesting BIWI thanks for the link and the new thread. It's taken me forever to catch up with the thread. I forgot to post my food yesterday, it was all good

Today I've had naked cheese burger, coleslaw and leaves for lunch
This evening I had hm asparagus soup with creme fraiche. Then a few fried prawns with avocado mayonnaise and haloumi. (I think I spell haloumi differently every time I post about it.) Still not weighing.
