I know! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun? Wink

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation!

Remember, week 4 is, like week 3, a time when weight loss tends to be pretty slow, if not non-existent. KOKO and persevere, and things will get going again soon.

But not if you cheat! Whilst many of you have been very honest about your transgressions, just remember that this WOE is not a very forgiving one. It's not like a calorie-controlled diet, where you can compensate for one 'bad' day with a 'good' one. As some of you have already found out the hard way!

Still in pre-period bloat but my c-section overhang is looking very floppy. Hoping that means a whoosh is on the way!

Avoided temptation at a pub lunch and had a lovely salad instead. Finding it quite easy but think I need to watch the creamy coffees! Did treat myself to an liqueur coffee last night - teaspoon of whisky and dollop of cream. Delicious!

ilovecherries · 12/06/2017 10:15

I'm down another 1.5 lbs, so I'm pleased with that. The scales originally showed a 5 lbs loss, but I'm pretty certain that's not right so I jumped off and on them a few times till the weight changed, and the 1.5 seems more accurate. And if I'm wrong, I'd rather have a nice surprise next week, than a crushing disappointment!

Lexa47 · 12/06/2017 10:20

Morning, just back from our holiday and i've put 3lbs on. Managed to stay lc most of the time but enjoyed the vino, we went to Greece so greek salad, souvlaki, moussaka etc. Just ate too much of it I think.
I know I'm in this for the long haul now, post menopause etc. Loved catching up with the thread, KOKO everyone.

ASDismynormality · 12/06/2017 10:25

ilove. I also move the scales around and take the highest reading, would rather be pleasnelty surprised the n ct time I weigh rather than disappointed!

prettybird · 12/06/2017 10:35

Meant to add that my objective this week is to get better at only eating when I am hungry Smile

Been doing a bit too much snacking - even though it's been HFLC stuff - when I'm bored or restless Blush

It's really helped that dh is having a month not drinking (due up on 29 June) and asked me to support him in this. The only aberrations so far have been election night and dinner across at my dad's last night, as he'd already opened a bottle.

YoLoZammo · 12/06/2017 10:47

I've lost a little bit this week overall, but I'm heavier than I was last Wednesday!

Can someone please explain why I need to drink so much water in order to lose weight? I know I don't drink enough.

Yorkshirebornandbred · 12/06/2017 10:52

Marking my place .. haven't weighed yet as I feel bloated and sure I haven't lost

nekobus · 12/06/2017 11:05

Oh dear, massive weight fluctuations this week!' No idea what's going on (scales buggered?)

My whoosh has disappeared:
Last Monday - 184.6
Last Thursday- 181.8
Today Monday - 187.8

Wtf is going on?

I had some cheating Saturday between 6 and 8 (how much damage can be done in 2 hours???)

The only thing I can think of is that my scales actually said 187 on Thursday and when I looked at the display missed the top bar turning a 7 into a 1....

So, I'm needing an oldbooks style list for this week (shamelessly stealing from others too!)

  1. NO CHEATING
  2. No alcohol before the weekend
  3. No 85% choc until I can limit myself to a square at a time
  4. Drink my 3L
  5. Only eat when hungry
RedBeanie · 12/06/2017 11:17

betty I've been using this cream for my weaker moments ... DD2 who is 3 keeps asking for a top-up too!

Apparently when it's a full moon, that can cause water retention ... it was a full moon on Friday, so may be that's why some of us are up a bit more than expected? I know it's a long-shot, just wondering if it could add to the fluctuations Grin

I haven't had losses or NSVs so will cut down on cream etc. Have thrown out my 90% choc even though I only had 2 squares. The temptation isn't worth it and it's too bitter for me so I have to have it with shedloads of cream

MaryThorne · 12/06/2017 11:19

how much damage can be done in 2 hours

Potentially quite a lot unfortunately. My understanding of how it works is that the increase in insulin caused by a carb cheat stays high in your system for a good number of hours after the cheat. Whilst insulin is elevated your body is in fat storage rather than fat burning mode (even if you're having bootcamp friendly things). The more insulin resistant you are the more excess insulin you'll produce in response to your cheat.

Some of the excess weight is likely to be water weight but not all. I've managed to lose 2.2 of the 3.8lbs I put on with carbs last weekend - lesson learnt!

I'm going to KOKO - I know that low carb does work for me though after getting to a bmi of under 25 in February for the first time in 17 years (started low carb a year ago). Unfortunately I didn't manage to stick to low carb when I got pregnant because of morning sickness and by the time I had a mmc at 12 weeks (a month ago) I was well over a stone heavier Confused

I feel much healthier eating this way, aside from trying to lose the weight I regained and carrying on to my goal. It's helping with my recovery from a rough few weeks Smile

ClearEyesFullHearts · 12/06/2017 11:22

YoLoZammo I don't thinknwater is a magical thing, but drinking plenty of water keeps you properly hydrated, which has general health benefits.

It also lessens the possibility of mistaking thirst for a hunger pang (which are often confused) so there's less reaching for a snack.

MaryThorne · 12/06/2017 11:23

With reference to my post above, have any long term low carbers managed to stay LCHF whilst pregnant? I was so positive I was going to before my lost pregnancy but after around 6-7 weeks even the thought of it made me feel queasy. If I do conceive again I'd like to stay low carb if I can find a way.

Any tips greatly appreciated!!

nekobus · 12/06/2017 11:27

Thanks for the info Mary! Cheating is so not worth it!!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 12/06/2017 11:27

I'm refusing to update the spreadsheet today as I weighed in at 7.00 at 211lbs, but decided my official weigh in should be consistent (erm, naked, 9.00am, after a morning poo Blush, especially as I hadn't gone for three days).

Had a creamy coffee, had a poo (impressive and inoffensive), got distracted so weighed in at 10.00 o'clock to see...212lbs.

I did a poo and gained a pound. Angry

You can't make this shit up.Wink

AdalindSchade · 12/06/2017 11:43

As far as I understand, low carbing releases ketones which come out in your urine. You need to drink sufficient water so as to release the ketones. There is something else to do with electrolytes too that I can't remember.
It's in the rules for a reason, you need to make the effort.

AdalindSchade · 12/06/2017 11:45

Also is there any reason why people keep asking for their weight to be adde to the spreadsheet? If you download google sheets on your tablet or phone you can do it yourself. It seems a bit presumptuous to ask BIWI et al to do it unless your device really can't support the app.

ShastaBeast · 12/06/2017 11:54

Urgh no movement today, although initially the scales lied and gave a 3lb gain! I knew I hadn't gained but I am run down, not slept due to back pain and probably not as regular as I should be due to meds.

I started eating some fruit and nuts this weekend, partly to help the UTI (now have antibiotics). Can the change to Bc light cause the slow down/gain? As your body has to readjust to the extra sugar? And what constitutes a cheat big enough to derail your progress?

I'm loving the Greek yoghurt, cream and lemon juice/zest breakfast, after a creamy coffee it's taking ages to eat.

Good luck everyone.

wombattoo · 12/06/2017 12:05

Grin @ClearEyes.

random I have made a note to add you to the spreadsheet when the extra rows are added.

In relation to the lack of weight loss by some - I gave up yoghurt because it stalled my loss. HOWEVER remember BIWI's repeated warnings that weeks 3 - 5 can be notorious for stalls. Try not to get downhearted. The loss will come Thanks

Shasta I don't really introduce much/move to bc light, but if you introduced something specific i.e. fruit then try reducing it again and see if there's a loss. Some posters can get away with stuff that others can't.

wombattoo · 12/06/2017 12:08

Adalind most people do manage the spreadsheet but some can't for one reason or another. I don't mind assisting with it. Smile

JiminnyCricket · 12/06/2017 12:11

Weighed in at 224 this week.... yep... 16st on the pigging nose Angry

It's maddening not to see a 15 on the scale this morning but it's a 2lb weekly loss, so I'm fine with it really Grin

It also takes me to 3st 1lb lost since new years day which I'm thrilled about, and 2st 5lbs lost on bootcamp Grin

As I was pulling up my leggings this morning, I noticed my belly crinkle a bit and it feels really maliable, a bit like an underfilled beanbag Blush.. I think I just have to accept that this is the start of loose skin for me and I'm not going to magically avoid it. Had a bit of a windge at DP about it who had a feel and decided it really wasn't an issue for him as long as I'm happy in my skin, baggy or not. I figure you can't go from 19st 1lb to a healthy weight and expect your skin to snap back, so I'll just reassess the damage a couple of years after the weight loss ends and after we've had all the children we want and see where I am with it then. I'll start putting money away just in case though. If I decide I don't want it removing.. quids in for a spectacular holiday Grin

Menu for today:

B: Coconut Coffee
L: Chicken and Veg soup and another coconut coffee
D: Steak mushrooms, broccoli and stilton.

AdalindSchade · 12/06/2017 12:31

Fair enough!

Can anyone tellme the carb count in lidl protein rolls is? I might have bought 4 one

SayrraT · 12/06/2017 12:45

Rows added last night wombat just struggling to post due to site issues.

StuntNun · 12/06/2017 12:56

Mary I had a low carb-ish pregnancy. I did eat more carbs during the first trimester but once the nausea settled down I went back to Bootcamp Light.

Jiminny that squishy fat is common before a whoosh so don't worry about it being a sign of loose skin.

wombattoo · 12/06/2017 12:57

Thanks Sayrra They weren't showing this morning but are now Smile

TheWayOfTheWorld · 12/06/2017 13:02

Forgot to mention my NSV today - back in a dress I haven't worn since Christmas Grin

B: none, fasting
L: tuna mayo salad with some cheese and a creamy coffee
D: TBC, maybe spag bol with cauliflower rice rather than pasta.
