I don't think that BIWI has managed to post a new thread so I'll do this one.

I don't have the wise words of BIWI so I'll just say that by now you should be more in the swing of lcing so just keep it up and remember, only 1 week until bclite.

Hopefully you all have a successful weigh-in but if not, don't be disheartened. Post for some help and we will do our best.

ASD urgh that's irritating, odd that your fasting is so high, have they given you a reason? My fasting is usually 5-5.5, post a carby meal 6-7. I'm due my annual GTT but I think ill ask for a hba1c so I can avoid the lucozade!

RedBeanie · 02/06/2017 16:14

I think my big fat belly is a fat-attracting zone. First place I gain, last place I lose. I look awful, and expect someone will ask me when I'm due soon enough!

ASDismynormality · 02/06/2017 16:18

goodbad. I haven't spoken to a dr about the morning highs but have read that it can take a long time for the fasting readings to go back to normal even when after meals levels are good. I will ask if it my hba1c hasn't improved as my diet is good, I exercise and have lost 4 1/2 stone since Jan so there should be an improvement.

L238 · 02/06/2017 16:24

Thank you ASD wombatoo and goodbad

The storm did indeed hit and the air already feels fresher.

I don't have periods thanks to the Mirena coil but I do still ovulate so it could be that.

Foodwise:

Tues
B: 1 egg (only had one left!) scrambled with butter & spinach. BPC.
L: frittata made with eggs, cheese & courgette, cooked in butter
D: pork belly & cauli mash, broccoli & butter (couldn't finish it as super full)
Snack: bit of gorgonzola, 75ml kefir

Weds:
B: leftover frittata, black coffee
L: two skin on roasted chicken thighs, mayo, oily dressing
D: courgetti with pesto, cream & a bit of cheese
Snack: slice of pork belly, 75ml kefir

Thurs:
B: creamy coffee only (badly prepared, I know I should have food)
L: chicken thigh, leek, mushroom in a cream cheese/cream sauce with cauli mash & broccoli
D: aubergine mozzarella bake with some Parmesan/mascarpone & about 150 ml tomato passata (3.5g carb/100ml)

Today have had one egg with spinach and hollandaise (not hungry enough for 2 eggs ) and courgetti with pancetta, 50ml passata, mozzarella and cream cheese

At least 4l water a day - that part I love!

Too much dairy? Or too soon to say?

GoodBadOrIndifferent · 02/06/2017 16:28

ASD 4.5 stone! Wow that's amazing! All on low carb? That does make sense, your body needs to adapt to lower insulin levels

CaptainBraandPants · 02/06/2017 16:28

Bloody hell, you lot can natter for England (and wherever else you are) Grin
It has, literally, taken me days to catch up.
Thank you all so, so much for you kind words about my Dad. Although I haven't posted, I have been reading, and reading and reading. He's doing ok and home again today, but who knows how long for. Flowers to those who have gone through similar with their parents. It sucks having an elderly parent, but sucks even more not to have one.

You wonderful nest of vipers have helped me stay on track. On Wednesday when I went to visit - 6 hours in the car, 4 hours by his bedside, I was completely BC compliant. All bought from the M&S deli, so light on the veg.

There are some fab NSV's on here, well done everyone.

Food today:
B: creamy coffee x1
L: stuffed cabbage casserole
D: can't remember exactly, I know it's a DietDoctor recipe involving fish.
S: creamy coffee x1

I'm working this weekend, so at least I can't be seduced by alcohol. I have been strict BC since the Sunday prior to this BC starting, so I may slip into BC lite and have fathead pizza tomorrow.

ASDismynormality · 02/06/2017 16:37

Good bad yes all on low carb but I was huge to start with and have over 5 stones still to lose!

Captain. Good to hear your Dad is home and also that you have stuck to bootcamp.

Naschkatze · 02/06/2017 17:03

Wasn't very well prepared today. It's so much harder when you don't have a plan.
B - Greek yoghurt
L - Celery and cheese. (The fridge was very empty.)
D - Will be prawn and chorizo courgetti. I just bought myself a spiralizer!

S - some salami and a piece of flapjack. Blush I won't bore you too much with excuses but I was hungry (see lunch) had to stop in a cafe to feed a screaming baby and they didn't have any low carb options. I've learned to be more prepared and take snacks with me! I think I'll leave some nuts in the changing bag. Any other low carb snacks that don't have to be in a fridge?!

AdalindSchade · 02/06/2017 17:17

I've binged today. Only on halloumi and double cream and not outrageous quantities but it was a definite binge mentality. I boredom ate my lunch at 11.30 which didn't help. Not good.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 02/06/2017 17:26

Lunch was tricky as I was served pizza with some olives, sausages and crudités - ate some olives, a sausage, cucumbers and the cheese and pepparoni from a slice of pizza.

S: just had 2 heaped teaspoons of jersey extra thick double cream and some Serrano ham.

D: sausages with asparagus and spinach (cooked in lovely butter).

socialengineering · 02/06/2017 17:28

I haven't lost any weight this week 😢 haven't put any on mind, but I've been so careful.

What can I do to beat the plateau?

HemanOrSheRa · 02/06/2017 17:35

I could murder a glass of Wine or two or three. Think I'm going to have to get an early night to avoid temptation.

SayrraT · 02/06/2017 17:37

How many weeks have you been stalled for social? And how many weeks have you been lcing?

Its normal to stop losing in weeks 4 and 5 of LC just in case that's where you are.

Bibs2014 · 02/06/2017 17:47

Red beanie - I brought the M&S deli style coleslaw as it was the lowest carb. Was delicious!

boldlygoingsomewhere · 02/06/2017 17:55

I've also binged today but in my case on butter. Was feeling hungry and had no real low carb snacks about so ate a few spoons of salted butter. Blush It was very tasty though.

I've felt much hungrier today. Think I need to up my water as didn't drink as much as usual and increase the fat. Had a good glug of olive oil over my salad which helped.

RedBeanie · 02/06/2017 17:58

Thanks Bibs, will stock up at the weekend.

I'm craving chocolate so much right now ... and cake :( Must be strong, must be strong ... hope it will pass soon.

Going to a kids birthday party tomorrow, if I feel like this I'm sure I'll cave in to all the high carb buffet food!!! I can see why people don't get to Week 10!

socialengineering · 02/06/2017 18:25

I'm on week 4! I've lost 1.5 stone so far (I've 7 stone of baby weight to loose!) I had two days off from the dc this week and stuck to plan religiously, but feeling a bit despondent.

Is there anything I can do to kick start again? I could murder a takeaway!!

HemanOrSheRa · 02/06/2017 18:25

Ta Dah! ilove's low carb Moussaka for dinner tonight. It smells delicious. I just need to let it cool down so I can tuck in Smile.

Week 2 - Pre-summer low carb bootcamp
AdalindSchade · 02/06/2017 18:47

1.5 in 4 weeks?!
Relax. Weight loss isn't linear. Your loss so far has been amazing.

Flibbertyjibbit · 02/06/2017 18:47

I've made it to the end of my first week (started later) so instead of my usual reward of chocolate I am treating myself to a new book.

Is it OK to have eggs every morning? I feel like I've exceed my quota of eggs allowed in one week! I've got through 10 eggs in 7 days!

Cookingongas · 02/06/2017 18:50

Mmmm- thank you for the moussaka recipe
ilove- my whole family enjoyed it :) Grin

Week 2 - Pre-summer low carb bootcamp
socialengineering · 02/06/2017 18:59

Thanks, I've lost at least one of my chins, but I have a family wedding to go to at the beginning of the summer holidays and they have never seen me overweight! I used to loose .5 stone per week but I struggle with mobility now and don't get much exercise in.

Mandelinka · 02/06/2017 19:09

The moussaka looks fab, may give it a go tomorrow.

B: duck pate mixed with butter, egg, salami, celery, radish
L: ham and cheese roll ups, soured cream, tomato
D: romaine lettuce and half schnitzel topped with melted cheese.
S: exploded Port Salut, 3 cream coffees, square of dark chocolate

I felt very sluggish, sort of dizzy and sleepy the whole day - hence 3 coffees ( really out of ordinary for me) and choco

Water/green tea 2.5 l

ChesterDrawers · 02/06/2017 19:13

captain sorry to hear about your dad, must have missed that up thread Flowers

I've walked over 20,000 steps today. Am shattered. Just need the energy to get DS to bed and make courgetti to go with my Bol and it's all good.

None of my clothes are feeling loose yet which is a bit disappointing. I think it's cos they were so painfully tight when I started. Am spurred on by everyone's NSVs though so keep em coming.

StuntNun · 02/06/2017 19:13

RedBeanie resist the carby temptation. But if you don't then climb straight back on the wagon again. Lots of us messed up a couple of times in the first few weeks but you can make it to week 10, you just need to be determined to keep going.

Social it's absolutely typical for weight loss to stop or even reverse at around week 4 so you don't need to do anything different, just KOKO.

Flibberty you can have as many eggs as you want. I tend to panic when our supplies drop below 40!

ASD some people find a protein snack at bedtime helps reduce morning blood glucose. If your blood glucose is coming back into a good range after mealtimes then that isn't so serious as it's a temporary peak rather than high all day.

I had an awesome low carb lunch out at the Tower of London today. Asparagus, field mushroom, two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and a side salad with vinaigrette. I was stuffed!
