Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

Afternoon everybody!

If you're worried about coping with exercise on low carb, don't be.

For breakfast this morning I had:
2 egg omelette with grated cheese and a large helping of butter.
I don't usually have any carbs at breakfast but I thought, seeing as I'm doing some intense excercise mid morning, I would include veg at breakfast.
So along with the omelette, cheese and butter I had 1/2 tomato, 2 baby sweetcorns and a big helping of lettuce. and

I Survived!!! Smile

I think adding the veg and the extra butter helped. It was a good combination. I drank LOTS of water before and during my class.

styledilemma · 26/05/2017 12:20

Herman If I can get hold of some ice lollie moulds , I'm going to have a go at making sugar free almond milk ice lollies.

I'll make a few with milk only and a couple with added cream. I'll add some vanilla as well.

Did you manage to make any?

Yorkshirebornandbred · 26/05/2017 12:28

C4 that sounds incredibly hard, so I think one slice of toast was definitely understandable. Flowers

Another hot day in sunny Wales (never thought I'd say those two words in the same sentence Grin )

Breakfast was the rest of the egg mayonnaise from yesterday and two cold low carb sausages.

Lunch will be the remaining pork shoulder steak with salad.

Dinner will be hm burgers (no bread bun) with roasted cauliflower and leeks in butter.

I'll prepare more egg mayonnaise and cold sausages for snacks.

Feeling positive and on top of it, although I don't feel thinner.

Also having vivid dreams, but that's normal for me Blush

Naschkatze · 26/05/2017 12:28

Has anyone else tracked calories on this WOE? I'm eating far more than I usually would calorie wise, but I am still feeling hungry...
Breakfast was a small piece of leftover frittata (bacon, spinach, feta), a spoonful of tinned tomatoes, slice of ham, some cheese. Plus coffee with cream! Came to over 500 calories. I'm hungry already - I've drunk loads of water too. Where am I going wrong?

SayrraT · 26/05/2017 12:32

Eat more naschkatze am I correct that you are bfing? I am not an expert (no children) but I'd think you need more calories than the rest of us.

stunt is probably best placed advise for someone who is bfing.

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 26/05/2017 12:35

Afternoon!

I did much better yesterday with the snacking. Still snacks. But no where near as much as the munch festival the day before.

I had:

B: creamy coffee with Celery and Pate
L: broccoli and stilton soup
S: Celery, cucumber, cheese, some chorizo crisps and some smoky bacon pieces.
D: Egg salad with loads of mayo.
And enough water!

Today I am determined that there will be no boredom snacking.

I am feeling quite jittery today, don't think the heat is helping.

Naschkatze · 26/05/2017 12:36

Yes I am - I'm just surprised that I am eating far more calories each day than when baby was tiny and I was mainlining cake and crisps and everyone says you feel more satisfied on this woe!

SayrraT · 26/05/2017 12:51

Please ignore my grammar above Hmm

CaptainBraandPants · 26/05/2017 13:00

Nasch my, not expert, opinion is to eat more fat and ensure you are drinking enough. Plus, give it time, we are only on week one of this BC.
I've just gone 24 hours in between meals - the only thing I had other than lots of water was a large creamy coffee. I'm not advocating this, it was circumstances rather than design, but now I've been LCing for a while, I can do this without wanting to chew my arm off.

ASDismynormality · 26/05/2017 13:11

Naschkatze. I was counting calories at the start but seeing how many I was eating was off putting. Despite my calorie intake being high I am losing weight!

I made a turmeric latte from the clever guts diets book and am surprised at how nice it is, feels like a really decadent drink. I used coconut milk and omitted the honey.

lisbapalea · 26/05/2017 13:23

this is a great recipe for a cheat's caesar dressing: www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2516/chicken-caesar-salad

C4, I am glad today is a happy day. Enjoy your shopping!

Nasch I have not long stopped BF and IME as baby gets bigger the demand on your supply increases as they need more, up until weaning is more established. Hence wanting to eat everything in sight! I would not have been able to think of low carbing while BF, the cravings were so strong. I am full of admiration for you! Relax, enjoy your food, and enjoy feeding your squish, I miss it a bit

Naschkatze · 26/05/2017 14:56

I'm definitely drinking lots - I do normally anyway but I'm up to about 3.5l at the moment.

Old books Glad to know it's not just me! I'd like to continue bfeeding for a while so I need to find a way to lose some of this weight. I tried just eating less but that didn't work at all! I was hoping this WOE would help me to not feel hungry. I'm going to stick with it -DH is going to get cross at the amount I'm spending on food though. Why is all the rubbish food cheap?!

FallenMadonnawiththeBadBoobies · 26/05/2017 15:06

I haven't been posting and I haven't had the time to read everyone's posts, but I'm still here. I'm sorry for everyone who is having a hard time, especially you, C4. You are having such a bad time, I hope it doesn't seem insensitive to mention my woes.

I had an infusion of zoledronic acid on Wednesday (I've been having treatment for breast cancer & this little beauty is to prevent spread to the bones). I had been assured that there wouldn't be any side effects, but it seems they were mistaken. Yesterday was a complete wipe out - I felt so ill, I could barely move. Today, I'm feeling a little better, although my energy levels are very low.

On the positive side, I have completely lost my appetite. I am having to force myself to eat - which is something of an experience - and I have lost 5lbs since `Monday !!

OldBooks · 26/05/2017 15:21

Nasch rubbish food is full of rubbish, cheap stuff to make it cheap to produce. All of my friends who BF wer ravenous all the time. When you stop it takes about 3 days and then your appetite suddenly halves. It's a relief! (Disclaimer I only went to 6 months so don't know if it is different if you feed for a long time). I would be drinking double cream out of the pot if I were you well I do it and my baby is 10 months so no excuse

Bibs2014 · 26/05/2017 15:26

naschkatze - I am calorie counting while low carbing as I have less to lose. Only want to lose a stone.

CodLiverOil556 · 26/05/2017 15:44

@Bibs2014 I'm the same only have 21lbs to lose so am calorie counting too...trying to stick to 1200 and am finding it easy and have to find an extra 200 calories of a night time Grin

Naschkatze · 26/05/2017 16:44

Oldbooks Ha, it has come close! The coffee is probably more cream than coffee.

Would also like to lose a stone to get back to pre-pregnancy weight - but I don't seem to be able to reduce calories at the moment. Hoping the low carb will work. I'd imagine even just cutting the sugar will make a difference!

Bibs2014 · 26/05/2017 16:48

IloveKermit - me too, can easily only eat 900 cals on this woe! Usually bump up my cals with halloumi! Would be good to share menus? X

CaptainBraandPants · 26/05/2017 16:48

Just made an iced coffee, similar to how was posted up thread. Almond milk, crushed ice, cream and a shot of espresso all whizzed up together. It's delicious. I felt like I needed/ deserved a treat and this has really hit the spot. Smile
Fallen (love your NN) and C4 Flowers for you both for your inspiring stories.

BIWI · 26/05/2017 17:02

@Naschkatze you really need to relax about this! We haven't finished week 1 yet! You're feeding your baby so you need lots of calories to do this.

To be honest, I don't think you should be worrying about weight loss as much as you are.

EAT THE FAT AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PLENTY OF CALORIES!!!

OP posts:
Yorkshirebornandbred · 26/05/2017 17:20

I had some soya milk in the fridge as dd is dairy intolerant, it's 0.5 carbs per 100 so I used a little to make iced coffee with an espresso and ice cubes in the blender... it was lovely!

HemanOrSheRa · 26/05/2017 17:21

The iced coffee is really good isn't it Captain? I had one this afternoon after lunch. I snuck home to pick my lunch up from the fridge as I didn't want to keep it in a baking hot car and I whizzed up in iced coffee to take with me Smile. I might have a look in sainsbos to see if they stock the Beanies Vanilla Flavoured coffee and try with that. I think I may have some flavoured nespresso pods lurking somewhere too.

I haven't got round to making ice lollies style. I had to go shopping after work. I picked up some pork scratchings and I thought I'd have a munch - I've broken the corner off one of my molars. Wah! Sad.

Anyway, I've got Shawarma Spiced chicken marinating for dinner. I think I'll have a couple of different salads with it - mixed leaves with avocado and Greek. Plus a dollop of FF Greek yogurt with fresh mint and red chilli. It's this recipe www.skinnytaste.com/shawarma-spiced-grilled-chicken-with-garlic-yogurt/. Obviously I'll pan fry the chicken not grill it. It's too hot to faff around with the grill anyway Confused.

Patapouf · 26/05/2017 17:23

Grin they are okay for BC without the raspberries, and just as moreish style

I think I now love Sainsbury's as I can fit into their size 14 jeans! I can get into stretchy loose size 14 stuff from some stores, but I've got another pair the same size from primark and the muffin top is indecent so not quite ready for those. I started 2017 as an 18 so I'm really pleased. I would like to eventually fit into a size 10 for the first time in my life!

B: creamy coffee
L: hm coleslaw rolled up in salt beef slices. Very yummy and very filling
D: pork belly with Swede mash I reckon
S: iced coffee with cream
Been a bit crap with water today as I've not been in the office, I've managed just under 2l so far, will chug more this evening as I'm going to the gym.

Im off to make some coconut milk chai latte ice lollies with a bit of vanilla powder.
