Evening all!

I'm starting this thread now as I have to leave early for work tomorrow. and I know how keen you'll all be to weigh-in first thing, so won't want to wait until I can get round to getting it up and running Grin

Here's the link to the lovely shiny new Spreadsheet of Fabulousness ]] for which many thanks, SayrraT.

Your name should be on it, but if it isn't, just add it at the bottom. Don't try and re-alphabetise the list - Sayrra or Wombattoo will do that later.

And don't touch the blue cells!!!

For those who like the keto bread the muffins I have are made similarly and can be adapted to be sweet or savoury.

1 egg
2 TSP coconut flour
Pinch each of salt and baking powder

Mix in a cup until smooth
Butter a ramekin
Pour mixture into ramekin and microwave until firm (about 1.5 mins for an 800w microwave)
Cut in half, butter and enjoy.

I like them with cheese or cinnamon and nutmeg.

Zero carbs Yorkshire. ZERO! I don't know why I thought it wouldn't be OK. I was very close to having a hissy fit, I was so hot and pissed off. This is the one I bought. I dare say it would taste a little better with a sprinkle of sweetner/stevia but it still hit the spot in this heat. Better than a 15g of carbs ice lolly anyway Smile.

B: 2 boiled eggs mashed with butter
L: 2x20g snack cheeses, spoonful of Greek yog (Rubbish I know, was rushed off my feet)
D: 3x heck sausages (2.9% carb) with big green salad, smoked cheese and mayo

2.5l water, 1 black coffee, 2 teas with soya milk

wombattoo · 25/05/2017 19:30

Hello everyone
Welcome Duckie - jump right in.
C4 Thanks
Got you bingefest
Cob from the meal you posted yesterday, you don't seem to be eating very much.

Someone mentioned piri piri. Can I just advise that if you are using ready made rubs/sauces, watch out for the sugar content. I have made this mistake in the past. A sachet of Nando's dry rub is 50% sugar. It is the first ingredient listed.

Everyone seems to be enjoying a real variety of meals. All very inspiring. Smile

I just popped my last babybel in the microwave for 2 mins and it went waaaay too crispy and burned. House now smells Sad I was excited about that too!

Have been much less hungry today and avoided cake at an office do 😇 also found a cafe on campus has several lc options in their salad bar and does almond milk drinks 😁

TimeIhadaNameChange · 25/05/2017 19:47

I decided to turn the leftovers of my chicken traybake into a (pasta) sauce. And very yummy it was too. Of course, I didn't actually have any pasta, just ate it as it was, but I did throw a pan on for himself.

Met my first temptation, though, roast potatoes! There were a few left with the chicken (had overestimated one portion) so I chopped them up to reheat and add to the pasta, and the smell was so appealing. But I didn't succumb.

I'm sure I did come up with a varied idea for lunch tomorrow, but have no idea what it was. Will probably take another salad in, again, unless it comes back to me...

Need help peeps...I'm going on a 4 day business trip and looking which are the best places to eat out and low carb. Don't want to mess up my hard work by making the wrong choices

Just found this so will try and follow it Smile

Kermit No specific suggestions but I'd say somewhere that does good tapas would work - cheese, meatballs, oily veg dishes, prawns etc. Burger places if you ask for no bun and courgette fries/salad?

HemanOrSheRa · 25/05/2017 20:13

Where are you going Kermit maybe someone knows the area and may have suggestions?

ilovecherries · 25/05/2017 20:19

Evening check in

B: Felt sick, nauseated and unwell. Managed about half a cup of coffee with cream, my stomach was clenching at the thought of food
L: much perkier, small trout panfried in butter, large green salad with hot fried mushrooms on top. Was very yummy.
Dinner: large mixed leaf salad dressed with olive oil and fried halloumi 'croutons', small rump steak pan fried in butter.
S: A costa coffee with cream :)
W: 5L of the stuff!

CodLiverOil556 · 25/05/2017 20:19

I'm off to Glasgow and don't really know it very well

ilovecherries · 25/05/2017 20:22

Kermit, if it were me, I'd choose steaks, chops, fish etc and ask for it with no sauce, plus a large green salad. Then I'd ask for butter and olive oil, dump the butter on top of the hot protein, and olive oil on the salad. Breakfast I'd do eggs with mushrooms.

ilovecherries · 25/05/2017 20:23

Oh, I used to live in Glasgow. Loads of good Indian restaurants that are accommodating, and in the west end around Byres Road lots of decent places to eat.

ChesterDrawers · 25/05/2017 20:27

Scooby if you like the crispy bacon strips you should definitely NOT try them spread with cheese and onion sandwich filler! It's a little bit carby but is literally the LC equivalent of a supernoodle sandwich!

Delicious, tasty but oh, so wrong. And only to be eaten behind closed doors!

imustbepatient · 25/05/2017 20:28

Everyone's food sounds amazing, very inspiring.

Today I've had

B buttered ham and cheese roll ups x 2
L large salad with prawns, avocado, a couple of cherry tomatoes and dressed with olive oil and apple cider vinegar, followed by some pork scratchings
D pan fried salmon fillet with crispy skin and some pan fried asparagus, then a small-ish bowl of total yoghurt with a bit of double cream stirred in with some of that vanilla powder someone recommended up thread, (which reminded me I already had some in a cupboard, thank you!) and cinnamon sprinkled on top. Very tasty.

I've had over 3.5 litres of water so far, the heat definitely helps with that!

CodLiverOil556 · 25/05/2017 20:44

@ilovecherries thank you, I'll see what they say, I live in Germany and they don't do low carb at all here! It'll be nice to get back to uk where they are accommodating

ScoobyDoosTinklyLaugh · 25/05/2017 20:45

ChesterDrawers

My mouth watered reading that.

ShastaBeast · 25/05/2017 21:04

Yoghurt and creamy coffee
Finished off crackling and chorizo crisps with salad, avocado and Brie
Snacked on prosciutto, soooo hungry. Two teas with full fat milk.
Leaves and chicken thighs with skin on for dinner plus a sneaky gherkin - sour vinegar so v low carb. Pork crackling for dessert.

Carbs 22g Fat 89g Protein 84g. Drinking lots but much less weeing now.

Saw something online disputing the low carb diet. It's crazy how there is no agreed healthy way to eat for normal, fairly sedentary, people (in the western world).

HemanOrSheRa · 25/05/2017 21:10

I sure you will find loads of places Kermit. If all else fails and you find an M&S store you definitely be able to pick up loads of low carb food.

I have just eaten the most lush dinner. Very late for me as I just wasn't hungry. I have gone about 7 hours without eating Shock. I cannot remember the last time that happened.

Food today -

B - last piece of crustless quiche and a low carb sausage.
L - tomato, avocado, mozzarella and olive salad with olive oil and a spritz of lemon juice. Handful of pork scratching crisps.

D - pan fried chicken breast, green leaves, half a weeny avocado, celery, cucumber, dressed with oil and lemon. I had a small amount of garlicky mushroom and cream sauce left from last night. I crumbled some Silton into it and zapped it in the microwave until the cheese melted, then crumbled a little more in so it just kept it's texture. Then spooned this over the chicken. It was lush and only took about 15 mins!

No snacks until I include the iced coffee I had.

Water - 3l so far. Still drinking now Smile

TheWayOfTheWorld · 25/05/2017 21:18

Dinner has been sausages, buttered spinach and tomatoes. Not done the spinach before but very quick and tasty.

SayrraT · 25/05/2017 21:25

Hmmm, cheese burgers in lettuce wraps.

cabbage67 · 25/05/2017 21:35

Evening everyone

I've been invited to friends on saturday night for a Chinese takeaway. Can anyone offer advice as to which food, other than stir fried veg, will be the least damaging please?

Bloody typical as we haven't been out for weeks and I start bootcamp this week and get two invitations to dinner. Almost tempted to say no as I don't want ruin the good I've done this week (although still not seeing any weight loss) :(

Thanks

MOIST · 25/05/2017 21:40

I was feeling a bit fatted out earlier. Made some of those pancake things and they were foul. With spinach.
Then went to Roller derby training, thought I was dying. Sweated like a horse. And felt better afterwards Grin

antimatter · 25/05/2017 21:54

I am so tired today. I did 30 min today:
