So our last week! Here's the Spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

One more week could see another couple of pounds off.

Fingers crossed, and good luck! Flowers

It is slowly changing though. When I first went low carb it was next to impossible to find low carb food out and about but now you can get all sorts of things. Some of those Graze snacks can be adapted, I got one with dark chocolate buttons, Pecan nuts and dried cherries and just left the cherries (DS4 ate them and said they were the best 'raisins' ever).

greengoose21 · 15/04/2017 09:16

Stuntnun I wouldn't have been able to leave the cherries. Dried Fruit is one of my favourite things, and something I've really missed.

All's well that ends well anyway...the scales have dropped a smidgen this morning. I was looking at finishing the last week of boot camp with my first gain, but I'm hoping I can avoid that now.

BIWI I've found it surprisingly easy to find low carb alternatives when I've been at home in my kitchen, or in a supermarket. But limited choice snack bars are a different story altogether.

CaptainBraandPants · 15/04/2017 10:02

Sayrra you are doing brilliantly, don't give up now. Flowers. Worse case scenario, you eat crap until Tuesday, put weight on, then get right back on the wagon and lose it again.
Better, harder way, is to try to detach your emotions from your eating. I am an emotional eater, I suspect most of us on here are. I used to eat if I was bored/ stressed/ angry/ felt I deserved a treat. Now, it is still hard at times, but I have little conversations with myself. I ask:
Are you hungry? If so, have something lc
Why do you want to eat that? Usually can't really answer that. it's a "just because" which is a crap answer
Will you enjoy it? Yes, for about 30 seconds, until the guilt creeps in
How will you feel in the morning? Usually crap, bloated, sluggish and ashamed.
Will it make me feel less bored/ stressed, etc? No.

You'll be pleased to hear I have these conversations in my head. Grin They don't always work, but they are starting to, and I think the more you do it, the easier it gets next time.

Dog I've just had an 18 day period where I didn't lose anything, but my clothes definitely felt looser. I persevered and this past few days, I've started to lose again, so stick with it. They are just numbers on the scales, the important thing is how you feel. Flowers

green Well done. When I was in a similar position once, I bought an egg mayonnaise sandwich and just ate the filling and left the bread! Wasn't the best meal I've ever had, but better then the alternatives and I'm not sure I would have made it home otherwise, I didn't have your will power.

I'm KOKO here and really excited that I am only a day away from completing bootcamp. I am proud of myself and everyone else who is still here. Grin

CaptainBraandPants · 15/04/2017 10:06

Oh, BIWI I wanted to ask a question about the BC recipe thread. It used to be stickied to the top of the BC topic, but it isn't anymore. It's getting quite a way down the first page and I think it may soon end up on the second page, which is a shame as it is such a wonderful resource. i'm concerned new people won't be able to find it as easily.
Do you know why? Can we do anything about it?

SayrraT · 15/04/2017 10:16

Thanks everyone, I ended up having a good lc day despite the fact that things went very wrong at work.

B: coffee with cream
L: omelette with cheese and ham, with salad
D: salmon fillet, kale with butter

I will koko as I really want to do this!

CaptainBraandPants · 15/04/2017 10:19

Well done Sayrra.

wombattoo · 15/04/2017 11:14

Well done Sayrra

BIWI · 15/04/2017 11:16

Thanks for letting me know Captain. I don't know how that happens, but it keeps happening! I'll contact MNHQ and get them to re-sticky it

No problem BIWI. I didn't know whether to report it myself, but didn't know if it became unstickied because it was almost full up.

Had a tuna and cucumber sandwich for lunch, with flax bread.
Then, this evening just had a prawn thing adapted from the diet doctor website. Fried the prawns in garlic and chilli. At same time, made cheese "tacos" - grated cheddar with a pinch of cumin and baked for about 10 minutes.
Let the prawns and tacos cool, then made a salad of the prawns with avocado, tomatoes, coriander, lime and mayonnaise.
Served with the tacos and a green salad. It was really lovely.

BIWI · 15/04/2017 22:50

It's reported, and hopefully fixed!

Er. There's a billion ton of chocolate in my house!

CaptainBraandPants · 16/04/2017 07:28

Kleptronic Resist - or have nice square or two of 90%
My teenager has already eaten most of his . The younger two seem to have forgotten it is Easter Sunday and therefore Easter Egg day. Can you tell we are not religious?. I've got to go to work soon, but will be back late morning, so they can wait until then and I will do the egg hunt.

Hesdeadjim · 16/04/2017 07:31

I buggered up yesterday big time :(

I started well with a creamy coffee but then had quite a bit of dark chocolate, probably 160 grams ish :(

THEN I had an Indian takeaway with was butter chicken, and chicken on the bone to start.

It doesn't sound too awful but this morning I feel anxious, my tummy really hurts and I have a really bad headache so I think I definitely kicked myself out of ketosis. Bollocks!! Angry

CaptainBraandPants · 16/04/2017 07:40

Hesdead Today is another day. Forget about yesterday, drink plenty of water today and get back to it.
TBH, ok, 160g chocolate isn't great, but it is not the end of the world and butter chicken and chicken on the bone both sound like good choices for an Indian takeaway. Did you have rice/ naan? If not, well done for avoiding those.
I've eaten far worse than that in the past and then slunk off the thread in shame before, which was the big mistake. Stay with us and we can help you through this. Flowers

Kleptronic · 16/04/2017 07:46

Thanks Captain I have resisted!

Hesdead get that water down you, you'll feel better soon. Yesterday's gone, today's a lovely day for climbing back on wagons.

Sunnymorning20 · 16/04/2017 08:46

Morning all, I had a trying day food wise yesterday. I hadn't prepared so was a bit caught out with choices. Started with 125g of FF Greek yoghurt then came home from work to a bareish looking fridge. Ended up eating 3 pork sausages I'd cooked form the night before. Went for an hours walk with the dog. We had a night out planned last night with friends so had to have something before we went. I had a breaded 🙈 fish fillet and salad then on the night out stuck to 3 vodka and diet coke.
Woke up earlier starving, AF had started (hence the 1lb on yesterday), but 2lbs lighter this morning. Today we have a Sunday lunch in a local hotel that we won in a facebook competition. It's 3 courses so I expect there may be some damage today. After today there are no further foodie events planned until 30th April so another few weeks where I can hopefully stick firmly to the plan.
Have a good Easter everyone!

BIWI · 16/04/2017 08:50

@Hesdeadjim

Don't panic! This is a really important lesson for you (and all of us). These days will happen - either by choice or circumstance. You need to learn to accept it, but also deal with it, by which I mean don't let it become and excuse to dive head first into more carbs.

And it's a lot easier to say than do, I realise.

But if you look ahead to when you reach your target - which you will - these days are still going to come along. It's called 'life'. Smile

Easter Grin Happy Easter everyone

StuntNun · 16/04/2017 09:38

I agree Hesdead, the most important thing is that this experience helps you to establish low carb as your way of eating. There are always going to be occasions where you don't manage to stay low carb but what matters the most is how you react. And definitely don't worry about whether you're in ketosis or not. It's not necessary for weight loss.

Hesdeadjim · 16/04/2017 10:13

Thanks guys I didn't have rice or naan or anything so that's ok.

SayrraT · 16/04/2017 10:33

jim if you didn't have rice or nann then that's good! Well done Smile

Food Yesterday (to keep me on track)

B: coffee with cream
S: nkd bar (I know these are not the best but at times of stress I eat badly so I'm trying to at least do bad but lc (ish)).
L: creamy garlic mushrooms
D: sirloin steak (no veg though, I wanted steak but wasn't that hungry and could tell that I'd end up with something unsuitable so decided that steak without veg was better than an Easter egg)
S: pork scratchings

I weighed this morning and I'm 219 lbs (24 lbs lost), I don't deserve it but I'm happy!

Here are some of my nsv which I've also been thinking about.

  1. My watch is loose.
  1. My lab coat doesn't strain anymore Blush
  1. My cousin and brother both noticed I'd lost weight when I saw them last week.
  1. A dress I couldn't do up at Christmas fits perfectly.
  1. I look AMAZING in the proofs from my pole photoshoot, I really wish I could show you all but I can't.
  1. I can buy some new (size 16 Grin) jeans for my conference, in Cuba Grin, next week.
  1. I will look fabulous in my costume on the beach in Cuba
wombattoo · 16/04/2017 11:29

Yay Sayrra well in woman!

nekobus · 16/04/2017 12:43

Loving the nsv's sayrra!

Off to catch up with the thread - not a great signal where we are for our Easter break.

The Easter bunny was very thoughtful - see photo - I think this will last me a long time it is so strong!!

CaptainBraandPants · 16/04/2017 13:23

Well doen Sayrra Flowers and I love hearing other peoples NSVs.
Hesdead No naan or rice? I think you can count that as a win.
nekobus 100% Shock I love 90%, but that's a step too far for me. I've only tried it once, but it was too bitter. We don't do adult eggs and the DC won't share, so no temptation here.

Had creamy coffee x3 (as it's a BH, I had an extra one)
Then, tuna mayonnaise omelette with green salad for lunch
Dinner will be pork, with lovely crackling, mashed cauli and veg.

Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow everyone.
