So our last week! Here's the Spreadsheet for its penultimate outing

One more week could see another couple of pounds off.

Fingers crossed, and good luck! Flowers

HappyGoLuckyGirl have a coffee with double cream or when you cook your dinner, add more butter to veg :)

readyforsunshine · 10/04/2017 17:37

Thanks kleptronic Smile

Dogblep · 10/04/2017 18:58

I like eating a spoonful of coconut oil. I like olives. I like coconut meat and dessicated coconut. I also love avocado.

I think it's very easy to fall into 'low carbing' while really eating quite a lot of carbs. It sounds really stupid but for a while when I was maintaining, I had an imagine in my head of 100g of, say, tomatoes as being about 1kg. I mean, I bake, I know what 100g is but I'd read the carb counts and think 'I can have loads of tomatoes. They're just veg' when, nope!

I've mostly cut fruit now and that has helped a lot. I don't miss it, either. I'm just so much more careful about choosing the lower carb veg too, but eating as much of it as I want. And I still eat a little sweet potato and still lose weight so you really don't have to be in ketosis to properly lose.

Dogblep · 10/04/2017 19:02

Oh and bizarrely whenever I lose weight and my clothes get baggier, I often get a bit angry. It's so bizarre, because I should be thrilled. I am thrilled, on one level! I think it's because nothing ever quite fits me properly and as things start to get baggy I not only have to spend time buying more but I look a bit crap because baggy things can make you look a bit bigger. I can't wait to get to goal weight and just have things fit and stay fitted.

But if I take a step back, clothes getting baggy is of course fantastic! V nice dress by the way Hesdead and congratulations on losing so many inches.

FinallyHere · 10/04/2017 19:16

Welcome Happygoluckygirl. I started this boot camp just a kilo or so higher than you and was 66kg cough cough few more years ago. It would be fun to keep. each other company. It doesn't feel like any kind of deprivation to me yet. Hurrah, onwards and downwards.

PissPotPourri · 10/04/2017 19:36

Hi all. Missed posting last week but was lurking. I've stayed the same more or less the last two weigh ins which is disheartening as i feel like I'm not doing anything wrong rather than the (not so) odd alcoholic drink. But i know I'm basically at my body's natural, healthy weight and anything else I lose is a bonus. Which is when it's always harder to lose.
Anyway, I'm thrilled i lost my stone on this BC and would like to say thank you to BIWI, STUNTNUN and all of you others for your support and company.
I for one will koko albeit in a more relaxed manner as suggested by somebody on the previous thread. I'm sure i will be returning before too long when i get a little too relaxed.

CaptainBraandPants · 10/04/2017 19:54

Welcome ready and Happy
Well done all you losers - great baggy dress pic Hesdead
Happy birthday Stunt Cake

Oops! Meant to attach a photo of my chart showing my recent plateau. Am I allowed to call it a plateau, is 18 days long enough or do I have to wait longer?

Oddsocks15 · 10/04/2017 22:44

I'm guessing it is too late to start this challenge? When does the next one start? I'm on holiday over long Easter weekend with limited internet access so don't want to miss it!

Kleptronic · 11/04/2017 00:49

Oddsocks I'm guessing it'll be in a couple of months, BIWI and Stuntnun will need a rest I imagine...it's not too late though, the spreadsheet linked at the top of the thread has the rules, recipes and resources on various tabs, and they don't tend to change much between bootcamps. There'll be some of us on the continuation thread after this one, so do join in!

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 11/04/2017 06:04

Morning all been around the same numbers 214 to 212 for a couple of weeks.

So thought I'd plug my food ito fat secret app and see what I'm doing wrong again.

Well turns out eating a 3 lb rotisserie chicken with salad or stir fry or in a soup every other day is to much protein and a tablespoon of butter just doesn't cut it. reason is science www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb-high-fat-not-protein
Doh. BIWI gonna learn 1 week I promise.

So reset Saturday, had fat - 2 two days no poop / no hunger either saw no new number this morning 213. Got the fat and water sorted today 4.5 liters and pooped, tonight 211.0 appeared on the scale. yeah. new number this year.

So gotta stay focused for 4 more weeks before the holiday hoping for under 200. Which would be a first for about 20 years. Was 206 last year before 6 week holiday travel and xmas helped tempt the beer drinking decisions up to 238.

If I get to 200 before end of April be around the doctors for the medical, lower some of that insurance premiums :)

Have fun and KOKO folks.

StuntNun · 11/04/2017 07:07

Oddsocks it isn't too late to start, there is always an ongoing thread for support. Check out the spreadsheet on the first post of the thread to get the rules.

Oddsocks15 · 11/04/2017 07:37

Thanks Smile I've weighed in this morning Blush and Shock

I'll start reading the spreadsheet

Almahart · 11/04/2017 07:47

I started out on this boot camp but fell off the wagon and never got back on. If I'm honest it's because at the time I found it too difficult to give up wine so saw few losses though I did, as always, feel great on this woe.

I've really enjoyed reading this thread and hearing about all your losses.

I am slowly easing my way back in, but just wanted to ask, have others found it harder to lose weight through lc third or fourth time around?

thenightsky · 11/04/2017 11:33

Gah. A pound on. I suppose it's not as bad as I thought it would be, given I've still got no kitchen and I'm pretty much eating crappy food, plus had wine this weekend.

Onward and upward. Kitchen man just rang to say worktops will be delivered tomorrow and I'll have a working hob and oven in time for Easter Smile

FinallyHere · 11/04/2017 12:23

Glad to read that the threads continue beyond the weeks of bootcamp. I'm really enjoying this way of eating and can honestly say its no hardship. Have the occasional wobble when i want to eat for fun, rather than hunger, 'part from that, its all good. Thanks all

Dogblep · 11/04/2017 12:46

I think people do find it hard second or third time round but usually because you go into a kind of denial about how many carbs you're eating. It creeps up.

I tried so hard last year and lost 8 pounds. I was convinced that was it. I just couldn't lose weight.

Really being strict this year has seen me lose 7 pounds in a month and it's definitely still going.

Cut the carbs and eat enough generally and you will lose

Hesdeadjim · 11/04/2017 13:46

Seem to be doing ok this week, I've found my mojo again :)

Menu for today:
Creamy coffee for breakfast
Half an avocado, gravadlax and salad for lunch
Duck breast, asparagus and port sauce for dinner (50ml port between 2 of us)

nekobus · 11/04/2017 14:41

I'm in a similar position Almahart, haven't quite managed to get back on track this bootcamp after an ok start.

I seem to be gaining and loosing the same 7 pounds since doing really well on LC a few years ago.

For me, it gets more and more difficult each time I try a strict LCHF diet - but I'm not sure that's anything to do with my body, could be carb creep like dogblep suggests.

I've not coped well with social situations where eating is a big part even though I managed fine on previous BC and other times I was LC-ing. I now have a goal of losing weight before a summer wedding where I'd like to feel confident Smile

I may join you on the threads after bootcamp but I've really not been doing this one properly Blush

Whyarethebestnamestaken · 11/04/2017 15:39

I have been lurking and reading and doing low carb but have only lost about 5 lbs in 4 weeks. I only have about 10lbs to lose so understand it will be slow.

I also struggle with the concept of high fat after having done the traditional low fat diets for years.

I don't drink coffee so cant add cream to that but also worry that cream is dairy which is not good for some people on this diet I have read. I do have avocado but hate fatty meat etc. but could eat lots of cheese and cream but is this bad? I also love greek yogurt and have to curtail that somewhat as I could easily eat a 500g tub in one go!

I am happy eating like this if for no other reason that it seems to have totally cured my insomnia that `i have had for years!

Patapouf · 11/04/2017 16:52

Well done on your losses everyone, I'll definitely be on the inbetween chat for those carrying on.

I haven't weighed yet this week but using my Sunday morning weight puts me at a 4lb loss this week, and 24lbs on BC so far. I'm thrilled but I've got a long way to go, especially with my attitude to food.

I crashed and burned on Sunday afternoon and my daily carb count was probably in the region of 200g, which is why I have avoided the scales. I'm trying to be strict but I need to do uber BC to get back into it. Far too much dark choc and wine on a near daily basis has crept up.
The worst part is I was so consumed with guilt at eating the carby shite I didn't even enjoy it.

I'm going to attempt my first fish pie tonight with Swede topping. All the recipes I've found contain boiled eggs which seems disgusting so I think I'll go with chucking in spinach, cauli and spring greens.

Dogblep · 11/04/2017 18:14

5lbs in 4 weeks is honestly very respectable. Well done.

Almahart · 11/04/2017 21:55

That's interesting. I was super strict first time I did BC and saw it right through to the end as I was desperate for it to work. I was cheating a teensy bit this time and I guess those tiny cheats were what did it for me.

Also using it as a license to snack a lot, especially on cheese.

boatgirl81 · 12/04/2017 08:33

I have a 10 at the front of the scales! It is probably the first time in at least 6 years so am really chuffed. I am only 4 foot 10 so my bmi is still in the obese range (currently 30.9) but it is coming down and I feel in control.

According to the NHS my healthy weight for my height is 6 Stone 8 pounds -8 stone 12 and that just seems so far away at this stage so just going to continue to take it half a stone at a time.

Well done to all the losers and keep it up xx

Hesdeadjim · 12/04/2017 09:23

Morning everyone, I need some help:

It's our 9 year anniversary, and our 1 year pre-versary (1 year before our wedding) on Friday, and as a gift DP has bought us an experience day at the wedgewood museum (I LOVE ceramics and I've always wanted to have a go at it). Problem is it includes lunch. I've found the menu online and it's typically carb heavy for a tea room/ cafe. What would you have?

I'm thinking about smoked salmon and scrambled eggs without the bread?
