Week 2 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - how was the first weigh-in?!

BIWI · 13/02/2017 07:19

Here's the Spreadsheet for you to confess all!

I hope that you've seen good results, and that they have convinced you that this WOE works - if you weren't already convinced, of course Grin

Here's to a good second week. Hopefully all of you suffering from carb flu will be through that now, and will be feeling much more energised.

Good luck to all Flowers

Im hoping for a loss tomorrow but I'm not optimistic. I've only managed 2.5l a day on average this weekend and it's the TOTM (again!).
B: mini Cumberland sausages (Tesco finest, v LC)
L: spring onion filling (pork & crab meat with herbs, basically the sausage and I left the mouth watering pastry outer. Beef pho- ate the beef and bean sprouts and stock, left the noodles.
D: buttery scrambled eggs, streaky bacon and 1 butternut squaffle which tasted gross. Unsure whether it was off or just unpleasant.
S: a teaspoon of extra thick double cream

SayrraT · 19/02/2017 20:53

Another long ride today, our fastest speed was apparently 20 mph.

Food really bad again but all LC, just not any veg!

B: egg muffins, coffee with cream
L: chicken thigh
D: 2 chicken thighs
S: mascarpone

nekobus · 19/02/2017 21:02

I just had to google squaffle pata never seen those before! Would you not recommend then Wink
Anyone tried the Waitrose 'mushotto' ???? Or cauli and kale couscous? I've not seen them in my local yet!

RupertsMum2 · 19/02/2017 21:31

I've made two flax and almond loaves, sliced them into 10 slices each, separated the slices with greaseproof paper and frozen them. This way I should be able to take out a couple of slices occasionally and they won't go off.

I plan to stick to bootcamp during the week (except for a few berries at breakfast) and go lite at the weekends. Hopefully I will be able to stick at it.

dementedma · 19/02/2017 22:16

Dreading the weigh in s have undone all the good work of week 1 and probably weigh more than when I started. But it's my own fault and a lesson learned that comfort eating in difficult times is not going to help in the long run.
Am back on it tomorrow

SayrraT · 19/02/2017 22:16

Right, I've set up the living room and set out my stuff. I'm getting up and doing the shred tomorrow morning.

Now I'll have to do it since I've told you all that I am!

SayrraT · 19/02/2017 22:19

Oh no demented just try to put it behind you and move on. It's really hard to remember that comfort eating doesn't help isn't it. It feels so good at the time!

BIWI · 19/02/2017 22:32

... and we've all done it! It's truly difficult because you have to eat, so it's very easy to fall into the comfort eating (and drinking) trap.

Yeah. Going to write off last week and start again!

Aderyn2016 · 19/02/2017 23:33

Hi all. Have been really bad at this for the last 2 weeks. Had period, which didn't help so am dreading weigh in.
Starting again tomorrow, not least because eating too many carbs makes me bloaty and makes my stomach hurt.
Best wishes to everyone for the weigh in tomorrow.

BIWI · 19/02/2017 23:40

Have been really bad at this for the last 2 weeks

So basically you haven't been doing Bootcamp?!

Hesdeadjim · 20/02/2017 06:36

Morning all,

I weighed in and I've lost 1lb. I'm a bit disappointed with that, but to be fair I've been full of cold all week and felt rotten but still stuck to the diet so that's an achievement i think.

I also lost 8lbs last week so I was unlikely to have a big loss again. I tend to lose in a 2 week cycle, one big week then a small week so hopefully this coming week will be better :)

I'm loving the extra energy and I'm sleeping deeper than I ever have before, so aside from the crappy weight loss this week I'm still feeling motivated :)

MyShinyThing · 20/02/2017 06:39

So I fell of the thread at some point last week & have only just managed to catch up.

I'm not even going to say how many bad decisions I've made this weekend & there's absolutely no defence for them.

Anyway I've now gained back all the weight I lost in the first week & I feel like a twat.

I'm back to it this week, I have to stick to it as the only clothes that fit at the moment are 1 pair of jeans & a few loose dresses.

B: scrambled eggs & spinach
L: salad, olive oil, salmon
D: bolognese & corgetti

GrassWillBeGreener · 20/02/2017 07:20

On daily weighs last week I didn't get the impression that I'd been losing anything. Had Saturday evening "off" completely (big black-tie dinner booked in months ago), and even cheated with a bit of fudge last night. But did keep up the water. Properly weighed myself this morning and 3 lb down which was what I was hoping for after 7 lb the 1st week. Really pleased.

My children made their dad's birthday cake for yesterday and I got them to make it with normal flour so I won't be tempted. (I'm coeliac)

Musicianofbremen · 20/02/2017 07:21

Ilb on Hmm

I can make my peace with it though> I have still lost what I wanted over the two weeks and have managed to curb my sweet tooth which was the goal.

Hope everyone expecting big losses gets one today.

BursarsFrogs · 20/02/2017 07:31

I've lost 3 lb - very pleased with that. Expecting less from this coming week, since will be going to BC Light. Also, I've not properly meal planned for this week - just have a fridge full of ingredients.

Looneytune253 · 20/02/2017 07:42

Frustrated. Gained 0.8 last week then a further 1lb this week. Technically its week 3&4 for me but its still really frustrating. Story of my life though. Ive always really struggled whatever I'm doing i just cant seem to get lower than i am now.

PissPotPourri · 20/02/2017 07:57

2lb off here which is not too bad after my 8lb over the first week as a half (i started a few days early).

Aderyn2016 · 20/02/2017 08:02

No, I haven't BIWI. I always seem to start off well and then self sabotage with weight loss. I know I am doing it - I don't know why. I think I might be scared that I will try really hard and nothing will happen and then I will be forced to accept being this weight forever, whereas if I fall off I can tell myself this weight is temporary and under my control.
Going shopping today to stock up on appropriate things to eat. Will start again.

CaptainBraandPants · 20/02/2017 08:14

Morning all. Well done you losers and koko those that haven't got the results you want Flowers
I read the article about cheating on the diet doctor website that BIWI linked to a couple of days ago. I think it's worth a read for anyone who is struggling. I found it really useful, plus some tips on how to not cheat - I like the "I'll have it tomorrow" technique, because tomorrow never comes. Grin
Our last day here today. Yesterday I had a planned cheat, but in fact hardly cheated at all.
So, lunch was crispy king prawns again with salad and coleslaw this time. Dinner was supposed to be my cheat meal. I had a large glass of wine (first this year) and it was divine. Smile Then, a sharing platter to start. I had one BBQ chicken wing, one breaded calamari and one breaded garlic mushroom. Not great, but not the end of the world either. Then I had chicken, with BBQ sauce, cheese and bacon, but with salad rather than chips. I had told myself I could have a pudding, but actually, there wasn't anything on the menu that I really wanted, so I didn't.
Will weigh tomorrow as we won't be home until this evening and I don't know if I will have lost anything as I've essentially just eaten out for four days and I know there will be hidden carbs. However, I am proud of myself and how I've coped. Plus, I'm not really hungry or craving, so I don't think I've eaten that many carbs.
Back to work tomorrow, unfortunately.

Veryflummoxed · 20/02/2017 08:44

Good morning all and congratulations or commiserations.

Well I've stayed the same. I've decided I need to shake things up. My plan for this week is to eat no dairy apart from Greek yogurt. I've read that eaten regularly it's supposed to help with stomach fat and I'm an apple, all tummy no bum. Also I'm going to try some intermittent fasting. Having had three months of very disturbed nights (a care situation) this ends today. So I'm hoping I won't be hungry in the mornings. Also if I don't see a shift this week I might stop weighing as it's interfering with my resolve.

So onwards and downwards.

Could you add me please.

Veryflummoxed · 20/02/2017 08:47

Oh and yes that cheating article was well worth the read and thanks for the the thumbs up re the flax bread BIWI.

BIWI · 20/02/2017 09:00

Sorry I forgot to post the link to the Week 3 thread!

-2 today (-3 since start of BC and -8 since I started)
Have been really good food wise but less exercise on half term so forced myself to do 2 runs this weekend)
Hoping this week will see another good loss as mine tends to go in fits and starts.

Musicianofbremen · 20/02/2017 12:13

Finally finally starting to feel a bit less coldy.

I whisk my Greek yoghurt in the mixer with double cream and sometimes some vanilla. Don't really need the vanilla any more now. The more cream, the less sour it is.
