Here's the Spreadsheet for you to confess all!

I hope that you've seen good results, and that they have convinced you that this WOE works - if you weren't already convinced, of course Grin

Here's to a good second week. Hopefully all of you suffering from carb flu will be through that now, and will be feeling much more energised.

Good luck to all Flowers

You're right Biwi but we sign up because we are going to try. Surely? If it was just for those who know in advance they are going to succeed it would out a lot of people off. I have had to try really hard and was rewarded with a good loss the first week. This week, other things have overtaken me,and yes, I haven't tried hard enough, but I didn't join to fail. I joined to give it a go.

Musicianofbremen · 17/02/2017 18:51

Difficult again today mainly because of this horrible cold.

Anyway I stuck to it...

B: some goats cheese and prossutio
L: Cajun spiced chicken breast with salad leaves, mayo and some cucumber
D: steak burger topped with mozarella and lots of buttery broccoli and spinach.

Snacks have been a cold sausage, babybel and one of the crustless quiches I made earlier in the week.

I am so proud of myself for sticking to this have really broken the cup of tea and something sweet cycle.

BIWI · 17/02/2017 19:17

I realise that, demented! But to fall off the wagon before we've even finished 2 weeks? It's not really trying, is it?

dementedma · 17/02/2017 19:34

Ok Biwi as you have absolutely no idea what has happened this week, I'm going to firmly bite my tongue( hope no carbs in it) and leave the thread.
Dinner was vegetable frittata. Should fit into my judgy pants soon.

BursarsFrogs · 17/02/2017 19:38

Truly chastened, Biwi.

As to reasons for joining up, I guess they vary. I obviously planned to do things properly. Ultimately my own main aim was to help me cut short a binge and purge cycle, since I was having health issues from it, meaning that I felt I needed to do whatever to keep myself from purging - mainly. I've usually been able to keep off it for long periods when low carbing. I need my insides to heal a bit. Indeed it's 18 days since the last time. So despite the fail of wine, I'm in a way a bit pleased with how it's been going for me.

wombattoo · 17/02/2017 19:53

To those who feel a bit miffed - can I just say please do not take it personally. BIWI commits a lot of time and energy to arrange the bootcamps. She does not get paid or any other rewards for it. We know and accept that she will bring us back into line if we stray, but it is done to help us. It does not make one tiny bit of difference to BIWI if we succeed or fail. She is doing it to help us. Without 'the big stick' we would be eating and drinking with free abandon. It would make more sense not to post the full details if we get derailed but still post for support.
demented and Bursars I hope things improve for you both. There is no need to leave the thread. Thanks

PlumT · 17/02/2017 19:53

Gosh MN is so full of pent up anger. I've been looking at several threads on different topics and people are getting pissed off with each other left, right and centre. Let's chill out, we're all in this together, right? Not doing boot camp but have been low carbing for a week - I have eaten nuts, seeds and artificial sweeteners, I have drunk a fair few glasses of wine and I have not drunk litres upon litres of water (which doctors say can actually be lethal) and have lost 3lbs. Happy with that. Do what suits you. Extremes often result in people falling off the wagon - that's exactly what the billion pound diet industry relies upon. If bc isn't for you, start (or in my case, lurk on) a different thread. Good luck peoples.

BIWI · 17/02/2017 20:05

@dementedma No, of course I don't know what kind of a week you've had, or what any kind of week anyone else has had.

You, equally, have no idea what's happened in my week, or my life.

But we're all here for the same reason, aren't we? To lose weight.

And I'm here because I've created a way that will help people.

It works. I've been doing it on MN since 2012. And I do one of these at least 3 times a year. Giving up a lot of my own time, putting in lots of effort and giving total random strangers a lot of consideration.

Why do I keep doing it? On top of a (very) full time job? Because I know it works. I know it can help people. And it's really satisfying when people lose the weight.

Why do I keep thinking I'm not going to bother any more? Because people don't bother doing it properly.

It's so frustrating when people talk about cheating or falling off the wagon.

I truly understand that life's a bitch. I've fallen foul of it many, many times. But ultimately we're all responsible for our own eating, and the choices that we make.

I'm sorry if you don't think I'm sympathetic to you. But sympathy isn't going to help you, is it?

@PlumT - I really don't see how on earth you think that post is helpful?

PlumT · 17/02/2017 20:10

I was simply stating that extreme diets aren't for everyone and if bc doesn't suit you do something else, that's all

BIWI · 17/02/2017 20:12

Of course it's not for everyone. No diet ever is. But this isn't part of the 'billion pound diet industry' either. This is me (and others like wombattoo and Sayrra) who give up their time for nothing to help other people.

PlumT · 17/02/2017 20:19

Didn't say ' this' was part of that. Jesus you're all such a chippy bunch. I actually think what you're doing is commendable. But I'll leave it there.

Downbutnotoutyet · 17/02/2017 20:25

Can I jump in here and say as a lurker I am so very appreciative of everything BIWI, Wombatt and Sarrya do? I have read several bootcamp threads and took the plunge and started two days ago. I am not brave enough to join in with recording my weight but I am genuinely in awe of the support you three, and so many others, give to everyone. I apologise for staying anonymous and not more publicly stating how extremely grateful I am to you all for providing me, albeit unknowingly, with so much support and motivation. Forgive me while I disappear back into the shadows but I will be here, in the background, thanking you, from the bottom of my heart for all you do, every time I open this thread. You are so much more than you will ever realise. Thank you.

Downbutnotoutyet · 17/02/2017 20:28

Oops! Sorry about spelling your names wrong wombattoo and Sayrra. I apologise!

wombattoo · 17/02/2017 20:37

Down Thank you for your kind words. Can I just say that you do not need to record your weight to join us. Just jump in and post on the thread. There are many posters who do not record their weights. It is not compulsory. If you choose to lurk, that is also ok but feel free to ask any questions if you have any. There is no such thing as a stupid question and there is always someone about to answer you. Good luck with your weight loss journey Thanks

wombattoo · 17/02/2017 20:40

And also for anyone who is lurking - there is no need for thanks.
If you have a look at the spreadsheet (always linked in BIWI's opening post) there are tabs along the bottom which contain useful info, the rules and details of carb counts of vegetables. It is very useful - thanks to Sayrra*

Imissmy0ldusername · 17/02/2017 21:04

Pork belly strips and courgettes for dinner - is there such a thing as too much pork belly? I do hope not!

Bovril & a piece of cheese from the tesco selection pack I got the other day as an end of week treat. Are hard cheeses generally better than soft cheeses?

I think this might be the longest I've stuck to an eating plan in about 10 years. So thanks BIWI for setting this up - the rules are simple enough even for me! I've been lucky enough this fortnight to be able to swerve any major social / eating things.

Looking forwards to next week, I've done my shopping list, and I'm going to stick with Bootcamp, as opposed to popping onto the Light plan. I've got a dinner thing with work which I'll have to surprise the life out of everyone & not drink pints of lager. I'm thinking I'll stick to water, as my tolerance to alcohol will be very low, and I'm likely to make shocking choices as a result!!

Hope everyone's Friday evening is going as planned Flowers

Kleptronic · 17/02/2017 21:12

Aw. Everyone. Big hugs. And lashings of good fats.

dementedma · 17/02/2017 21:14

Sorry for derailing. Not a good time for me. I will keep trying in my own way. Good luck to all.

Downbutnotoutyet · 17/02/2017 21:23

Okay wombattoo, you said I could ask questions so here goes. One huge problem I have is I can't cook. I mean I am truly, seriously bad. Also, I live alone so there is a limit as to what I keep in my stock cupboard as it goes off before I can use it. So my first question is can I flavour my protein and veg using things like powdered garlic, paprika etc? Or is there an easy, low carb sauce that I can use to accompany my protein. I am a very simple eater so anything will help. I can only eat so much mayonnaise as an accompaniment. Secondly am I best roasting, steaming or frying veg? Or is that not so important? Thank you to anyone who can help in advance.

wombattoo · 17/02/2017 21:42

Down yes you can use herbs and spices. Beware of some rubs. Nando's do a packet of spice rub and the largest ingredient is sugar. But stuff like powdered garlic and paprika should be fine. Read the labels as they will show the carb content.
You can cook veg any way you like. I tend to boil stuff like cabbage but then serve it with butter on. I'll post a link to the recipe thread

wombattoo · 17/02/2017 21:44

wombattoo · 17/02/2017 21:47

Down one of the popular cheese sauces is to warm some double cream in a pan and add grated cheese. Simples!

dementedma I hope you realise that you don't need to leave the thread, and/or you can return at any time. Many of us have fallen off and had a thwack from the stick, but get right back on it. I hope you are ok Thanks
