Here's the Spreadsheet for you to confess all!

I hope that you've seen good results, and that they have convinced you that this WOE works - if you weren't already convinced, of course Grin

Here's to a good second week. Hopefully all of you suffering from carb flu will be through that now, and will be feeling much more energised.

Good luck to all Flowers

Give me half an hour and I'll be round ...

@beachestoexplore

The only caveat is that some avocados are more carby than others - if you bought them in a packet, check the carb count on the back

I'm exhausted today! In a good way though.

Stepped up the horses fitness for the season ahead so had a long 3hr ride with a good long canter. I rode mostly in forward seat so burny thighs!

Food today

B: bacon and egg muffins, coffee with cream
L: 2 chicken thighs, mini cheese (before ride)
S: 2 more chicken thighs
D: tuna steak, veg

Almahart · 18/02/2017 20:11

Breakfast, 3 eggs scrambled with cheese and parsley

Lunch 2 homemade burgers, salad

Dinner 2 lc sausages, cabbage with butter

Snack, pork crackling

Hesdeadjim · 18/02/2017 23:32

Hey you lovely lot :)

Just checking in really, I'm still on track and food blemish free Halo

Couldn't finish my breakfast (omelet) or my dinner (steak) today and I've had no appitite at all.

My sleep is back to normal, I didn't take a sleeping tablet last night and slept fine so I think that was just a freak ketosis side effect!

Hoping to lose 2lbs this week but if it's less i won't be annoyed, I lost over half a stone last week so it would be understandable!

Veryflummoxed · 19/02/2017 00:16

Just caught up with the thread. Things have been hectic but I'm still here Smile

Youcandoit36 · 19/02/2017 05:51

I have been struggling with a very sore throat over the past week . Is this related to low carbing? And how can I help it?

CaptainBraandPants · 19/02/2017 09:25

Morning all. DS1 has now joined us for the weekend. Cue teenage strops and arguments. Grin Despite, that, I'm so pleased he's well enough to be here.
I bloody ache all over today. And the only activity any of them want to do is the caving experience. So, I'm taking Ds2 and 3 this morning. I have to contort myself into a variety of poses my poor, stiff, middle aged body is not used to. SadGrin
Food wise, wasn't bad yesterday. Have a bacon and Brie burger for lunch. Didn't eat the bun and had it with salad and coleslaw rather than chips. It was very filling, so wasn't that hungry for dinner and didn't fancy another salad, so I had crispy king prawns. I didn't use the sweet chilli dip. I know then covering wasn't LC, but I thought it was a reasonable choice form what was available.
I haven't had any alcohol yet. I'm saving that treat for tonight when we eat at the country club. I think I will have to stick to one glass as I haven't had any alcohol since Xmas day and I don't want to be drunk in charge of a bicycle. Grin
Youcan I don't think a sore throats is a LC side effect. Are you coming down with a cold? Maybe Hesdead gave it to you. Glad you are sleeping better Hesdead.
Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow everyone.

Imissmy0ldusername · 19/02/2017 09:30

@Youcandoit36 - quite a few of us have had either the snots or a proper full on cold, but I think it's more to do with the time of year than what is being referred to as Carb Flu, which is the "bleh & meh" feeling while your body is adjusting to the lack of sugars to convert to energy.

The scales are moving in the right direction again - hoorah! I am, however, very annoyed with the cat, as she woke me up while I was in the middle of a very pleasant dream involving James McAvoy. We were having a very grownup discussion about special effects companies, and he introduced me to his mates. Very nice they were too.

B: Avocado (as long as it's still in decent condition) with prawns & scallops
L: Roast pork, crackling & tonnes of veg. All of the crackling. Crackling-tastic!
D: leftover beef shin from last night.

DH & I are having a film day today, so loads of water & crocheting some squares for Candy's Hugs are on my horizon for today.

Have a good day, all, and may the sugar beast not burden you with its' presence.

Musicianofbremen · 19/02/2017 10:15

Still at it here.

I have had an absolutely streaming cold for over a week and now a very heavy period yuk. Forced myself out for my first longish run since starting BC (8.5 miles). Usually I would have a bottle of Lucozade sport or a gel or something but I didn't. Frankly the entire thing was a struggle but I think that's as much down to being ill as anything else.

Will anybody make any changes next week? I am going to start having berries for breakfast but that's the only thing I think milk in my tea and chocolate will not be making a return.

B: Parma ham and goats cheese
Brunch: spinach omelette
L: Greek salad
D: roast lamb, broccoli, asparagus

playmobilpeacock · 19/02/2017 11:07

Musician I think I'm going to stick with BC for a few more weeks.

I want to see steady weight loss before I move on.

I went out for dinner last night and it went well enough. I had lobster and prawn cocktail for a starter and steak and salad for a main course.
I wasn't tempted by pudding but a glass of wine would have been nice.

I took egg muffins away with me so I had those for breakfast.

I hope I've lost some weight but I don't have high hopes after my huge gain earlier in the week.

Veryflummoxed · 19/02/2017 11:12

Hi BIWI. Will the flaxseed and ground almond loaf be allowed for BC lite? I usually try and continue strict BC but thought I might have this sometimes this time.

ASDismynormality · 19/02/2017 12:13

I've be doing this for almost 6 weeks now, for the first time I am really craving some bread! I won't give in as I feel so much healthier without heavy carbs but it's tough!

Imissmy0ldusername · 19/02/2017 12:27

I'll be sticking with BC. I'm no great fan of fruit or seeds anyway. Do you think I should be taking a supplement, or something? I'm sort of sticking to broccoli, courgettes, aubergines, shallots and garlic on the veg front, which is a bit limited on the vitamins front, isn't it?

Breakfast went a bit off piste - I seem to have misplaced the avocado. So I went with a version of a Gok Wan recipe I really crave every so often. In the rice compartment of my steamer, I put a knob of garlic butter, then beat 2 eggs with some double cream and a good dollop of soy sauce. Added 2 low carb sausages, chopped up & a couple of shiitake mushrooms, also chopped up. Steamed for half an hour.

I need to make up some garlic, ginger & spring onion butter for the next time I fancy it. I'll probably do some other flavoured butters while I'm at it to go on steaks etc. I think I read somewhere about fat & spices working together to make meats really tasty or something.

StuntNun · 19/02/2017 13:46

Imiss the Idiot Proof Diet cookbook has some good recipes for low carb rubs, marinades etc. I can have a look and post some if you like.

If anyone is worried about missing out on Shrove Tuesday, here's a recipe for LOW CARB PANCAKESS*. I leave out the sweetener and serve them with a little butter on. They do taste somewhat omelette-y so don't expect them to taste like "real" pancakes.

Imissmy0ldusername · 19/02/2017 14:16

Thanks StuntNun - I've got the book, and bloody hell, some of those look fabularse!

BursarsFrogs · 19/02/2017 14:42

I think I'll be switching to BClight. I just think I'm much more likely to stick to it, and I do miss having milk in my tea, and wouldn't mind having the odd nut here and there.

StuntNun Thanks for the pancake recipe - I think I'll give that a try and maybe have it with a few berries.

B: Greek yoghurt
L: Two boiled eggs, salad leaves and a chopped tomato, with some mayonnaise.
D: Sea breame and courgettes with pesto.

Veryflummoxed · 19/02/2017 15:15

Breakfast. FF Fag total Greek yogurt

Lunch. Sausages (LC) fried cabbage with bacon, celeriac mash.

Ds 10 had the same. Doesn't ask where's the potato?

Dinner will be the same or a salad.

Week 2 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - how was the first weigh-in?!
nekobus · 19/02/2017 15:57

Looks good, very, we'll be having sausage and cauli mash tonight.

Well, lesson learned - stick to olives and salad in pizza express!! I looked up the nutritional values of the calamari (just a few breadcrumbs I thought) and the melanzane (it's mostly aubergine, right?) only to discover 46g carbs in the calamari Shock and 26 in the melanzane!!

I'm keeping going but after reading the diet doctor link about cheating I'm more determined not to cheat from now on as I'm only hurting myself. Back on it today and have lots of LC food in for the week.

I'll stink with BC apart from maybe skipping breakfast or having BPC instead.

nekobus · 19/02/2017 15:57

Stick with BC that should say!!!

BIWI · 19/02/2017 16:13

I should hope BC won't make you stink Grin

OP posts:
BIWI · 19/02/2017 16:14

@Veryflummoxed - yes that would be allowed on BC Light

OP posts:
BIWI · 19/02/2017 16:18

So next week you can decide what you want to do. You can move on to Bootcamp Light if you like, which is a little more relaxed. (The rules are posted ^^ up there somewhere!)

If you prefer, you can stay on Bootcamp - or you could do a hybrid. So stricter Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Be aware that weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for lack of weight loss - something to do with your body adjusting and switching to fat burning - so if this happens to you, DON'T PANIC! You know that low carbing works, so just KOKO (keep on keeping on) and you'll be fine

Hesdeadjim · 19/02/2017 16:59

Afternoon :)

Food shop is done, evening meals for the week are:

Homemade lamb burgers
Pork roast (crackling... nom)
Steak with peppercorn sauce
Satay prawn stir fry
Chicken curry (cream)
Cauli cheese wth chicken

Lunches will be an avocado, bacon and tomato salad (very little tomato, lots of mayo)

Tonight we're having a takeaway... yes, A TAKEAWAY. I'm having donor meat, Salad and mayo and I've racked it all in MFP. The choice was the gym or cooking so we chose to go to the gym and order in, but the meal I've chosen is within my budget so I'm happy :)

wombattoo · 19/02/2017 17:00

Afternoon everybody.
I will be sticking with BC for the next 2 weeks before my holiday. I'm not expecting a loss this week for I have sinned.
