Really sorry everyone - I've been stupidly busy recently and was at work really early yesterday so completely forgot to start the new chat thread.

It's an especially heinous crime too, seeing as I should have been guiding you all into the careful decision that you need to make for week 3 - i.e. whether to move on to Bootcamp Light, stay on Bootcamp or do Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend

Anyway if you haven't already, here's the spreadsheet for you to input your latest weight

It's also time for me to issue the standard week 3 warning:

IT'S VERY COMMON IN WEEKS 3 AND 4 (AND SOMETIMES 5) FOR YOUR WEIGHT LOSS TO SLOW RIGHT DOWN OR EVEN STOP. THIS IS NOTHING UNUSUAL. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, DON'T DESPAIR - JUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON AND THINGS WILL START TO MOVE AGAIN SOON

Interesting!

RJnomore1 · 11/11/2016 21:33

Hey BIWI I managed to fall off these threads - as you know I'm doing. Bastardised version for my weight lifting following most of the rules and I'm down about 2kg and wearing a jumper I bought in may thst was too tight. I've lost even more fst than that Aa I have definitely grown new muscles.

I'm having a night off but I know it's just a break this time and not back on the slow slide, I feel controlled - and I'm eating a metric fuckton of fish and eggs 😁

PlayNice · 12/11/2016 01:13

I've been so good today.

B: leftover roast chicken thigh
L: Broccoli and cheddar soup
D: a variety of cheese from tonight's cheese themed party, with no bread or crackers or wine.

I deserve to lose at least 4 stone for that level of willpower.

That's good to hear, RJ. (Well, not so much about the fish and eggs!)

Very jealous of your cheese night PlayNice!

We're off to a fireworks party tonight, where friends have brought in outside caterers, so not quite sure what will be on the menu. But the food is always lovely, and there's usually something sufficiently low carb as long as I dodge the pudding. But I won't be dodging the Champagne

And this is a really interesting article about how to make sure you're in 'optimum' ketosis

It's weigh in morning for me is it possible I have dropped 2.8kgthis week or are my scales broken????

DearPrudence · 12/11/2016 10:25

Morning everyone.

This is my first boot camp and I have all the irritating zeal of a newbie. Can I share it with those who are struggling?

That said, last night I could have been tempted to wine but I stayed strong and was glad I did.

Have had a couple of days this week where I felt I ate more than I needed or grazed instead of eating meals. I re-focused on the rules, upped my water, ate proper meals with veg and now feel back in the swing.

Going to try that lime coconut thing tonight.

DearPrudence · 12/11/2016 10:28

Oh well done RJ Smile

plumstone · 12/11/2016 11:52

Random change of plans for today, breakfast was smoked salmons and mushrooms and spinach followed at 6:30am and just finished an early
Lunch out: bacon, tomatoes, two fried eggs, mushrooms, no hash browns, no toast and two fried eggs - good thing about going to artisan foodie places for a meal is their breakfasts can have the carbs changed out for avocado. Thank god they don't do chips as a side order may have fallen head first into a plate of them!!!!

Off to cinema - as I am nice and full - will not need snacks for the duration!!!! Xozo

Visaste · 12/11/2016 13:08

Had a terrible day yesterday. Won't go into detail but suffice to say I fell off the wagon big time Sad. Felt full of self-loathing and disappointment but feeling brighter today and am back on track (so far). Need some of your zeal DearPrudence!

I've been LCHF for a few months and had gone ultra strict for this bootcamp to accommodate my doctor's recommendations (no dairy, caffeine, red meat and various other things), but I just cracked and then got the "ah fuck it" mentality. So I think I'm going to have to allow myself caffeine from now on because I'd been feeling very 'deprived', which I hadn't felt at all when I was just doing LCHF and if I'm at least allowing myself coffee I won't feel like everything's off limits. Anyway just gotta KOKO!

BIWI · 12/11/2016 14:56

One of the things I always say to people on Bootcamp, Visaste, is that it's absolutely not about deprivation. In your case I'm amazed you've lasted so long without cracking!

And FWIW, I've never given up coffee. The only thing you have to be careful about is the amount of milk you might be having in it.

Thanks for that link BIWI. I think the thing I find most challenging is planning my food well enough so that I don't eat too much protein. There was someone on the last bootcamp who was amazing at it. Was it gcal?

bettyblueeyes83 · 12/11/2016 16:19

Pleased to have found a good non-omelette option in a cafe today - 'Mediterranean breakfast', which without toast was the ideal LCHF meal, although as I wasn't planning to have it I've rather overdosed on feta and tomatoes today.

B: omelette with feta, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, spring onion, coffee with cream
L: turkish sausage, halloumi, feta, cucumber, tomato, salad (with olive oil), olives, fried spinach, poached egg; vanilla tea (this was amazing)
D: will be leftovers from last night: pollock and pancetta stew with tomatoes, olives, artichokes, and rosemary - with celeriac mash and broccoli
S: had an almond milk cappuccino and will have small about of 90% Lindt and a glass of merlot tonight...

Visaste · 12/11/2016 17:42

Thanks BIWI Flowers. I've only got another 10 days on this no dairy/red meat thing so I'm going to power through, helped by coffee!

nekobus · 12/11/2016 18:14

Having spent most of last night up with a poorly DD and all the cleaning which that entailed (yuk!) I have had hardly any appetite! She's fine now but I've been a bit of a zombie today Confused I don't do well without sleep Grin

Today:
B - 2 hb eggs and butter
L - m&s manchego wrapped in Parma ham
D - 2 small chipolata sausages and 2 bits of broccoli.
S - copious amounts of coffee to stay away. May still have some cream and Greek yog with cinnamon and vanilla later

DearPrudence · 12/11/2016 19:38

Hope DD is better today nekobus

I had delicious food today

Brunch - 2 heck sausages, mushrooms in butter and fried tomatoes
Dinner - lamb koftas, salsa made with toms, shallot, chilli, lime juice & coriander. Total yoghurt with grated cucumber and mint.

Veryflummoxed · 12/11/2016 19:59

Very little sleep last night really threw my appetite. I was very hungry at breakfast time and had three eggs scrambled with butter. Mid morning I had Pork scratchings so not hungry for lunch. This afternoon a baby bel and coffee with cream. Dinner was the butter chicken. So delicious. With buttered courgettes and roasted cabbage. I had seconds. I have had loads of FAT. I am hungry now. I'm hoping if I post it will keep me in check.

Veryflummoxed · 12/11/2016 23:49

I had some more butter chicken and two exploding babybels. I m due a disturbed night again tonight and again feeling hungry. My stomach is even rumbling.

nekobus · 13/11/2016 08:28

Hope your night wasn't too bad flummoxed? We only had one interruption when DD wet her bed but even that has thrown me a bit, early to bed tonight I think!

Your butter chicken looks delicious must make that again soon.

I ended up having 2 roast chicken thighs last night and a G&dietT so much for me saying I'd be doing BC proper Blush I think a more practical approach will be BC in the week and BC light at the weekend.

wombattoo · 13/11/2016 11:35

Hi everyone
I love seeing your pictures flummoxed
neko I hope DD is better today.
margaritas You are correct - it was GCal She is very knowledgable about this woe.

BIWI · 13/11/2016 14:31

veryflummoxed sorry to hear you're having a hard time - but agree with others, your food looks lovely!

If you're still hungry, one other thing to think about is drinking more.

OP posts:
margaritasbythesea · 13/11/2016 18:06

Thanks wombattoo.
I could do with tips in eating less protein. I think it is too much protein that is holding me back.

Veryflummoxed · 13/11/2016 19:10

Thanks all. And BIWI you are right. I find it easy to let the water slip. So downing some now as I write. I'm another one probably eating too much protein so very interested on anything any one says on this. Any way appetite a bit more under control again today I'm going to have a creamy coffee now and will have some yogurt later if I'm hungry.

Breakfast the rest of the butter chicken and cabbage.

Lunch park scratchings and babybel ( more like snacking really, I had an open bag I was returning too)

Dinner roast pork, roast celariac, sprouts, creamy leeks and jus.

Very late to check in but just wanted to share my dinner

Raw Spinach with roast courgettes and meatballs with grated cheese and small dollop of pesto. Rich but very tasty.
