Really sorry everyone - I've been stupidly busy recently and was at work really early yesterday so completely forgot to start the new chat thread.

It's an especially heinous crime too, seeing as I should have been guiding you all into the careful decision that you need to make for week 3 - i.e. whether to move on to Bootcamp Light, stay on Bootcamp or do Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend

Anyway if you haven't already, here's the spreadsheet for you to input your latest weight

It's also time for me to issue the standard week 3 warning:

IT'S VERY COMMON IN WEEKS 3 AND 4 (AND SOMETIMES 5) FOR YOUR WEIGHT LOSS TO SLOW RIGHT DOWN OR EVEN STOP. THIS IS NOTHING UNUSUAL. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, DON'T DESPAIR - JUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON AND THINGS WILL START TO MOVE AGAIN SOON

Love M&S for some low card snacks - Like thing the crackling strips are the best thing ever!!!! Also they do parma ham (possibly salami) wrapped around cheese, lots of antipasti stuff which is great for on the go eating!!

Today will be the same as usual:
B - Total Grek yogurt
L - Pork belly and chorizo stew, cauliflower and broccoli
D - Mackerel pate wrapped in lettuce and some buttered mushrooms, and tomatoes!

Will have to draw a veil over last night's meal - went out and didn't make the world's best choices. But that's my only blip so far this bootcamp.

Today is a new day...

B - berries and yog
L - tuna mayo, boiled egg, salad with dressing
D - cauliflower cheese with chorizo and salad

Veryflummoxed · 09/11/2016 15:57

Brunch was tuna mayo and ice burg lettuce.

Dinner will be fried prawns, halloumi, avacado, olive oil, Mayo and salad leaves.

Doing OK with water.

Just realised I don't have any cream so can't follow the recipe thread Cauliflower Cheese. If I melt a pack of normal cream cheese with some Boursin and use some full fat milk to slacken it, will that be ok?

plumstone, that pork belly and chorizo dish is amazing! It was so tasty, thanks for sharing.

pop the weight loss could slow down before you reach your target weight. As BIWI has pointed out above, weeks 3 and 4 can be notorious for weight loss stalling. I wouldn't worry too much about saggy skin.

Thank you wombatoo. And it's perfectly normal to lose this quickly?

I stayed this same this week which is fine. Finding it harder today when at home with the kids. Find work days easier

Random question about scales. According to mine, I put on 8lb in15 minutes! So, should I weigh a few times and take the average, or take the lowest and run with it? Do anyone else's scales torture them fluctuate this way?

Report
Veryflummoxed · 10/11/2016 08:12

All the time Pop. On my scales I always go up so I record the lowest weight on a Monday. I always take note of the highest and as long as I see the range on a downward shift I know I'm losing.

Report
PopGoesTheFuckingWeasel · 10/11/2016 08:21

Thanks very. The logical part of me says no one could put on 8lb in a day (and yup...I checked for Haribo Strawberries 😁) but it's still gutting. My first weight showed exactly the same as yesterday (daily weigher and tracker). Should I just go with this one?

Also, I drank bovril as my last drink last night, and it was only about 9 hours ago. Water retention, you think? No water in between then and when I weighed.

BIWI · 10/11/2016 08:30

Sounds like you have either dodgy scales or that they need a new battery!

Don't worry about the saggy skin - you're really unlikely to keep losing weight at this rate.

But bloody well done!

Thanks BIWI. I think I'm going to quite the daily weighing. Instead I'll weigh once a week at Tesco. WAY out of my comfort zone, but, hey, so was mainlining cheese until a few weeks ago Grin

Not showing the same rapid loss that I did over last week (half a stone! Smile) this week and yes I do step on the scales daily Blush, but not showing a gain after the horror that was sitting up through the night on Tuesday night - and a few glasses of wine and pretzels to numb the shock Shock - I'm ok with just STS.

On a more positive note, I'm managing to start getting motivated to do things again. And I even did the Shred on Monday - the first exercise (except for a weekly Pilates class and the 3.5 mile cycle there) I have done at all for over 6 months ShockBlush

Haven't managed to repeat the Shred - Pilates class on Tuesday and yesterday was too depressed tired - plus dh has a few days off (he'd been hoping to be celebrating) so is in the way. But it's a start! Smile

On the subject of saggy skin - I may be talking rubbish here, but I'd imagine that all the fat that gets consumed on this WOE would help in that regard. Plumping cells and all that. Don't we always hear how good oils are for our skin?

Feel weight loss has stalled, but will KOKO.

Just checking in with yesterday's food:

B - leftover chicken breast wrapped in bacon, stuffed with cheese and pesto, mayo
L - the other leftover chicken breast, babybel
D - my new go-to quick meal - shallot and courgetti fried in coconut oil, add a pack of king prawns, curry powder, cream and heat through. I had this with leftover swede and cabbage.
S - babybel, ham and Boursin wraps, coffee and cream
Water - nearly 3L - getting easier!

Loving some of the food ideas on here, thanks guys - going to try the pork and chorizo stew and the chicken with cream and sundried toms.

Had to nip out from work to run errands and OMG the hunger that struck me was terribl - however I had two little packets of cheese and chorizo wrapped cheese things from M&S - feel so virtuous and fecking saint like especially when there was this incredibly rude woman stuffing a sausage roll in her face on the bus - I may or may not done a smug judgy pants look at her - it was that or mug her for the sausage roll - I could tell it was still warm and fully of flaky, crispy deliciousness!!!!

I have had such a mad day for cooking today. I have made:

  1. Coconut and lime chicken with courgette rice.
  2. Broccoli and mature cheddar soup
  3. Leek and sour cream soup
  4. An entire roast chicken so I could scrounge the bones for my ramen on Sunday.

I am exhausted. And all I've actually had to eat today is some FF yogurt for breakfast and about half a roast chicken as I laboriously deboned the thing. I'm beginning to see how the mumsnet chicken works. There was meat in places I hadn't even thought to check before.

Plumstone, that's the worst! I had a guy pacing up and down the platform in front of me with a McDonalds burger while I was waiting for my train yesterday.

I thought I'd escaped him once I sat down, but he came wafting it through the carriage, for no apparent reason. Luckily it was just the once.

Plumstone That is a large victory. Well done for having the snacks. It is always worthwhile being prepared.
I have lost a couple of pounds this week which I am very pleased about but I am having cravings for something sweet this evening. I won't give in - I won't give in - and repeat Grin

Oh that lime coconut chicken sounds delicious

No breakfast. Meeting over ran so very late (4pm) lunch of leftover prawns, halloumi and salad greens with mayo. Then not hungry at dinner time so no dinner and a supper of a bacon rasher and a slice of Stilton. I don't think I've had enough water though.

Same food as yesterday!

B: scrambled eggs with cheese, avocado, coffee with cream
L: tuna mayo salad
D: cheese filled chicken breast, celeriac mash, broccoli
S: still peckish after tea so had a spoonful of peanut butter

Had very long day with long periods between eating and wasn't really hungry which is good! But still a bit hungry now.
