Really sorry everyone - I've been stupidly busy recently and was at work really early yesterday so completely forgot to start the new chat thread.

It's an especially heinous crime too, seeing as I should have been guiding you all into the careful decision that you need to make for week 3 - i.e. whether to move on to Bootcamp Light, stay on Bootcamp or do Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend

Anyway if you haven't already, here's the spreadsheet for you to input your latest weight

It's also time for me to issue the standard week 3 warning:

IT'S VERY COMMON IN WEEKS 3 AND 4 (AND SOMETIMES 5) FOR YOUR WEIGHT LOSS TO SLOW RIGHT DOWN OR EVEN STOP. THIS IS NOTHING UNUSUAL. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, DON'T DESPAIR - JUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON AND THINGS WILL START TO MOVE AGAIN SOON

Have to admit to using my "hot drink and cake" John Lewis voucher today Blush. Got a cream chocolate eclair - and hated it Shock - left half of it uneaten should have got the lemon drizzle cake - despite not having had breakfast.

Then went and had lunch with dh: had baby prawns in chili garlic butter - and gave dh the Italian bread toast. Then had panfried hake on a tomato and caper sauce and the crispy polenta replaced by garlic spinach Smile Watched dh drink a large glass of white wine while I downed a jug of water.

Supper was the pork belly and chorizo dish (third time this week!) with Brussels in butter. This is how much is left after 3 nights (11 portions already eaten - probably another 3 or 4 left - but am going to freeze it) - plus a pretty picture of my plate (dh and ds had it with rice)

So after a bad start, finished the day well! Smile

I'm really struggling this bootcamp, I just can't get my head back in the zone.

DH has lost 20lbs since September on LCHF after watching me low carb all summer, and now he's lovely and slim and I'm eating like a twat!

Work is my biggest issue - lots of cake and biscuits around and even when I have LC breakfast and prepare LC lunch I find myself mindlessly grabbing carby shit as I walk through the kitchen (I can't avoid the kitchen as it leads to our meeting room)

It's fucking ridiculous. I know how good I look and feel when I do it properly, and I know it's good for me with PCOS in my family. Yet I still insist on eating beige food. Angry

I don't know if you're the same as me, Fliss, but it gets so much easier after the first few weeks. You need to push yourself past the point of craving carbs. Every time you eat them, you'll make the cravings worse.

This is the coconut lime chicken btw! Although I just mixed a chicken stock cube straight into the coconut milk, thus reducing the need to thicken it/add corn starch www.asaucykitchen.com/coconut-lime-chicken/

That's funny pretty bird about the eclair. I treated myself to a chocolate yesterday and it tasted rank, just if palm oil and sweet.

I like the idea of that chicken. Thanks for the link play nice.

I had added in some nuts to what I eat as I love them but I'm cutting them out as I have no self control with them.

PlayNice oh absolutely. It's just ridiculous, I know I can so it's just me sabotaging myself.

Last night on my way home from work I are a family Dairy Milk mint thing and felt REALLY sick and then found out DH now weighs 2lb more than me - I'm 5ft 6, he's 6ft 2 and now his ideal weight! I'm not sure if that's shocked me into sense as coming back to the BC thread is the first thing I've done this morning after weighing myself.

I think it's a good sign Smile

I had a bad day yesterday too tbh! I got broken up with, and sulkily ate half a Skyr mixed berry yogurt (5g carbs), a teaspoon of peanut butter powder and a teaspoon of strawberry granola before I caught myself and sent myself to bed. Thank god there was no chocolate in the house. I feel stupid for risking reigniting cravings.

Today I'm going to a cheese themed party in the evening, so avoiding carbs should, for once, be easy. I'm taking a burrata and bresaola salad.

B: boiled eggs
L: leek and sour cream soup, with chicken stirred in.

A cheese party? Sounds brilliant.

I think you were remarkably controlled for a break-up day Flowers

It wasn't a particularly long relationship, or I would probably still be buried in ice cream now.

I hope your DH can help motivate you, Fliss. He must appreciate how hard dieting is. My ex was always tempting me with dessert etc, so the break-up is somewhat of a blessing.

Sorry to hear about the break up PlayNice. Even if it wasn't a long term thing, it's never nice to know that someone doesn't want to be with you any more

But we want you! Flowers

I get you, Flisspaps. My head is in exactly the same zone as yours at the moment Sad

Not so much food, but booze. This week I haven't been able to keep to the straight and narrow and have had a drink every night. And boy can I feel it. My trousers were uncomfortably tight this morning.

Something has to be done!!!

I think I need to be hit with the big stick too. Grin

In the spirit of optimism - onwards and downwards and all that Grin - here'a picture of my lunch day before yesterday. My 'no pizza pizza'.

One large tomato, sliced and spread out on a plate
A couple of sliced spring onions over the top, and a chopped chilli. (This is optional, but I love chilli and so it goes in most things!)
Drizzle with olive oil and cook on high in the microwave for 1.5 minutes

On top of this, put some sliced cooked chicken and slices of pepperoni, black olives, half a ball of mozzarella, sliced thinly and a handful of grated mature cheddar. Season with salt, black pepper and dried oregano.

Cook for another minute or so on high, until the cheese is melted to a consistency that you like, then top with some fresh basil.

Hello - I've had a really strange few days. Been starving and just adding extra chicken or olives or drinking more water, but still wanting 'something' then had a right falldown last night with a hot cross bun. I've been very tired this week and wonder if it's yet another deilght of hormones/cycle/premenopause? Have been exercising but finding it really hard and LCHF food just not hitting it (although I have stuck strictly to rules apart from last night) - last week I was poster girl for the whole Bootcamp!

Hmm I'm having some really weird symptoms, not sure if they are LCHF related or not. This may be TMI for anyone eating or thinking about food!

Last Sunday and today I woke up feeling really queasy. It's strange, I don't feel off food but I get a sick feeling in my stomach and my mouth and a slight stabbing pain in my left side. On Sunday I had some coffee and breakfast and it went away and I was fine - went to gym etc. Today I was actually sick but it was just bile sorry TMI. But then I was hungry and ate breakfast no problem and have felt OK since. I'm worried it's my gall bladder reacting to too much fat, although I haven't increased my fat notably this week and have been doing LCHF for months. And gall bladder is right side and my pain is left. Has anyone else had anything like this? Definitely not pregnant.

Of course will take self to doctor if it continues.

oh dear betty doesn't sound good - hope that's it passed now.

I've been a real grump and very snappy with the kids so I think period on its way. Otherwise I'm keeping on most of the time except slipping up on some 85% choc last night, then some more, then some more. I usually have the little Aldi bars which means I stick to 25 grams but I "treated" myself to some fancy waitrose stuff in a bar a few days ago and now the bar is gone :(

yesterday
B - coffee and cream, 2 hb eggs and butter
L - avocado, salad, dressing, bacon and feta
D - avocado & dressing, bacon, haloumi, spinach
S - babybel, made a marmite drink (don't have bovril) for upping my salt it was ok but

today
B - 2 hb eggs and butter, chicken breast and mayo
L - celery and cucumber dipped in LC pate, chorizo & boursin, tea with normal milk (was out and about)
D - will be 2 Heck sausages spread with dijon and mayo
S - 2 babybel (melted in oven) some of the kids leftover scrambled egg

Off to cinema tonight hoping to avoid any temptations!

Fliss I have times like that. I have done many bc's over the years but I am better at some than others. The last bc I ate my own body weight in biscuits/cake whilst in the office. It made me feel crap and really bloated but I couldn't seem to stop myself. This bc I have been ok. In general I tell myself that I will stick to lchf every day but it doesn't always work.
I was once so out of control that I declared it on the thread and said I was bowing out because I felt like a fraud. Luckily for me, BIWI and Stuntnun came to my rescue, gave me a pep talk and I stayed. I don't think there is a magic formula for getting our heads 'into the zone' but I keep on trying to keep on track. Stick with us, good or bad and we will offer support where we can Thanks

Yesterday I was so hungry, but today that seems to have gone. I think if I wasn't so stubborn I would have gone carb crazy last night!

Today's menu was
B - bacon and cheese
L - chicken salad with lots of mayo
D - creamy chicken and mushroom curry with cauli rice.

Will be 3.5 litres of water once I've finished the pint I've got. I find the water really easy to drink now.

Thanks BIWI I will. I'm sure it's not BC causing it, I just feel a bit paranoid as my mum has gallstones and goes on about how bad fat is for you all the time...so I'm worried that LCHF is too good to be true and is now making me sick!

Report
BIWI · 11/11/2016 20:54

The irony is that gallstone problems are actually thought to be caused by excessive low fat diets.

Let me see if I can find a link for you ...
