Welcome all!

I see that there are almost 130 of us signed up for this one, which is brilliant.

I'm starting the week 1 thread a little early, as I'm away this evening and won't be back home until mid-morning tomorrow, and I know you all want to get cracking Grin

So, without further ado, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

If your name isn't on it, just add yourself at the bottom. Don't worry about the alphabetisation - wombattoo will sort that out later. Add your weight, but don't touch the blue cells!

It's up to you when you weigh; I'll start a new chat thread each Monday, with a link to the spreadsheet, but if you feel happier weighing on a Friday (or any other day) then it's totally up to you.

Today I feel has been dairy overload so am steering clear of any more for a while!

B - ff greek yog and cream with flaxseed. It was a huge bowl and more than I probably needed
L - stick of cheddar and some celery sticks spread with Pate
D - will be salmon, roast fennel and salad with oily dressing

PigPigTrotters · 28/10/2016 13:00

Am I too late to join in?

BIWI · 28/10/2016 13:52

Of course not! Just head to the spreadsheet and add your name to the bottom

On phone on way home (not driving) but will post the thai curry recipe when i get back for the person who asked for it.

achangeisgonnacome · 28/10/2016 15:18

Breakfast : poached eggs and bacon

Lunch : teriyaki chicken

Dinner: not sure yet.

achangeisgonnacome · 28/10/2016 15:21

Can I ask, I realise nuts aren't carb free but as a snack I ate a teaspoon of cashew butter. Not too bad or a definite no no? Was in my mouth before I realised Blush

nekobus · 28/10/2016 15:52

Hi pop, this is the butter chicken recipe I got on here (from last BC I think) I make this one a lot! Swap out the onions for shallots it's even more low carb:

http://foodess.com/recipes/butter-chicken/

This might not be the one you are looking for (it uses double cream not yog) but it it delicious Smile

MNRandom · 28/10/2016 16:10

Great thread. Can you add me please? I'm at 149lb. Thanks in advance.

MNRandom · 28/10/2016 16:12

I tried adding my name myself to the spreadsheet. Downloaded app and everything. But can't find doc in app and the doc as it stands won't let me add to it. Frustrating to say the least.

wombattoo · 28/10/2016 16:14

Furry and PigPig - I have added you to the spreadsheet. PigPig you didn't post your weight so I couldn't add it

wombattoo · 28/10/2016 16:15

Random I 've added you.

Ndotto · 28/10/2016 16:31

Wow Mary thanks for the Diet Doctor site - lots of great recipes on there!

BIWI thanks for the advice. I always have protein at breakfast (when I eat it Halloween Blush and lunch and add fat to dishes - so cream or coconut cream in curries, avocados and full fat mayonnaise on salad, eggs cooked in butter etc) but it is just a bother having to cook a vegetarian dinner and then go and make some meat for me. Might get a joint at the weekend then I can add slices of beef etc to my version of their veggie meals.

Big fry up for breakfast today - eggs in butter, mushrooms, onions, bacon and some grated cheese on the eggs. Cold chicken and salad for lunch. Will be a curry for tea I think but have a bit of leftover chicken to add to mine and I don't eat any rice, just stir spinach through to mop up the creamy sauce!

Have a good weekend everyone

MNRandom · 28/10/2016 16:40

Thank you Wombattoo 💐

Pengweng · 28/10/2016 16:52

I've had really bad heartburn for the last few days and i am prone to it but think it might also be too much cheese so i'm going to cut it back and also stick to just soft cheese which seems to be ok.

The recipe for the thai fish curry is this one:

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/coconut-fish-curry

Sorry i can't remember who asked.
I use shallots not onion
I leave out the sugar
And i don't have any shrimp paste so also leave that out

It tastes pretty good. Doesn't actually have mussels in it but i have some so will be throwing them in at the end.

PigPigTrotters · 28/10/2016 16:52

Thank you Wombat, I'm in denial about my weight and don't know Blush.

Pengweng · 28/10/2016 16:53

Thanks for the inspiration about cheese sauce too. I have loads of mushrooms so have bought some garlic soft cheese and cream and will have those for dinner with my bacon chop and some buttered cabbage tomorrow. Mmmmmm

Veryflummoxed · 28/10/2016 18:16

B. A cup of hm chicken and veg soup.

And I'm drinking my waterGrin

wombattoo · 28/10/2016 18:42

Hello flummoxed
PigPig - I may just call you Trotters - you can add a made up weight of 100 and then deduct whatever loss you have from that (so you don't need to disclose your weight if you don't want) If you don't have any scales and don't want to know your weight, then maybe you could measure yourself and then compare every couple of weeks?

BIWI · 28/10/2016 19:21

So we head into the weekend - and generally this is the time people find the most difficult!

Try your best to keep your resolve. Remember that Monday morning is weigh-in day, so if you go off piste this weekend, you'll see it on the scales when you weigh!

Most people find it hard to do without alcohol. The thing that you have to bear in mind with alcohol is that even if you're drinking the lowest carb alcohol you can, alcohol is the easiest source of fuel for the body. So it will burn this in preference to any fat. So even without the carbs, you're preventing weight loss.

Sidling in to admit to a bloody awful day today. I've always had problems with eating, particularly comfort eating when stressed / depressed, and just completely blew today. Started with it being someone's leaving day, and they brought in cakes. Managed to restrain myself to one (very small) flapjack, but then the stress of the last few weeks caught up to me and I ended up eating a massively carb-heavy lunch, crisps and a chocolate bar.

I think I need to get over the voice in my head that says "You've already screwed up today, so why bother" because apart from anything else, it then goes on to beat me up about screwing up so badly. Eating for me has always been fairly closely linked to my mental health, but I thought I had really come through that...clearly not.

However, from a mental health point of view, I'm being much better at not beating myself up - tomorrow is another day, and one rubbish day does not make me some awful person.

bettyblueeyes83 · 28/10/2016 19:41

Thanks BIWI. Definitely the bit I find most difficult, and I've got a friend's surprise birthday coming up this weekend where we've planned a cocktail bar followed by dinner. I know they are going to call me out for being a spoilsport if I don't drink, and I usually cave in these situations....

Bit more energy today, managed a short run.

B: yog and cream with vanilla, coffee with cream
L: salad with smoked salmon, avocado, olives and a lemon mayo dressing
D: low-carb moussaka (the IPD one) with courgettes fried in olive oil, garlic and chilli
S: some cheese, black coffee

Still feeling a bit hungry and planning Friday night in front of telly, so will need to be careful not to snack! My Ocado is arriving in a bit so will be all organised for weekend and next week, I love that feeling.

wombattoo · 28/10/2016 20:14

Achmed - I have struggled with the same mentality. Once I eat something I shouldn't, I go mad thinking well I might as well eat everything now. It is very hard to break the cycle, but I have found that if I stick the bc rules, and not have anything sweet/carby, the cravings go after a few days. It is the one slip up that spirals me out of control. A colleague recently said to me that I am normally so controlled (there are always biscuits, cakes, birthdays in the office) but if I have one thing, I can't stay away from the sweet stuff. It is disturbing that others notice! Grin
You are right though, tomorrow is a new day. Let's keep on keeping on together.

RaisinGirls · 28/10/2016 21:10

Didn't weigh myself today as couldn't face the thought of more weight going on, just going to persevere and trust in the plan...

Breakfast: two sausages (very meaty French ones), grilled tomato, two slices of crispy bacon, two scrambled eggs made with cream and butter melted on top

Lunch: was decidedly full after lunch so went for just a selection of hard cheese

Dinner: home made chilli made with lots of butter and no beans, topped off with chilli.

Water: about 5 pints

No exercise today as rest day.

Still got that carb flu, so still popping pills and sniffling

wombattoo · 28/10/2016 21:14

Raisin well done for not weighing but watch out for the sausages. Many contain carbs, even the high quality ones.
