Morning all

<a class="break-all" href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vwh_9-y9ejMjg_sFMCK38uoPqZZFps39T7RY-VdUaI8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vwh_9-y9ejMjg_sFMCK38uoPqZZFps39T7RY-VdUaI8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

No point me weighing in today as the weekend has been lovely shocking. My official weighing-in day is Friday, so hopefully all will be back to normal by then!

Those of you for whom the scales have slowed/stopped, in weeks 3 and 4, hopefully things will get moving again now.

I'm off to Leeds with work for a couple of days, so who knows what I'll be eating? I have, though, packed some boiled eggs, a pot of Total yoghurt and a couple of sachets of tuna in my little cool box, so I know that I have something to eat if the choices available to me aren't low carb.

Good luck all, and hope this is a good week for all of us

Go for it betsy, love me prawns and actually got to eat them as dd is at her grandmas (she inhales them)

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/02/2016 07:40

My 3lb up over the weekend are stubbornly staying put. It's probably because of AF because I've been pretty good all week - only exceptions have been tiny bits of apple in the grain-free crumble (it was 1 apple in 4 portions - surely a quarter of an apple isn't that bad?).

Yesterday:
B: Greek yoghurt with double cream, BabyBel
L: Plain rotisserie chicken with salad and ff mayo
S: Greek yoghurt, cream and raspberries
D: Roasted veg (aubergine, cherry tomatoes, shallots) in coconut oil, mixed with some feta and chicken thigh meat. Also a fair bit of DD's chicken thighs because she wanted to see the bone before she would eat them.
3 litres water, 2 cups tea with ff milk.

Is no one else still drinking some real milk? I'm trying to limit it to 2 cups a day.

BIWI · 20/02/2016 08:28

It could be that you're eating too much dairy, TooExtra?

I have been reading back my old posts. I realise that when I made my first spicy chai latte with almond milk, I used a twinings spice tea and loved it. More recently I used the Pukks vanilla chai and loathed it.
So, it is not the almond milk I disliked, but that combimation. And I thought they would be about the same. It is nice without the milk though, but sometimes I want the comfort of a "milky" warm drink.

FelicityFunknickle · 20/02/2016 09:08

Well done on the cinema coffee smiley
Yesterday (oh dear)
B: bpc and cold porksteak from previous night's dinner
L: iceberg with some cheddar and mayo. Atkins advantage bar (they were selling them for 19p each in Tesco!)
I had a black coffee while everyone else ate hotdogs and fries out at lunch
D: spag bol with spinach instead of spag.
A fair bit of champagne (sorry shouldiblowthewhistle. It was sort of by accident.
However, I didn't subsequently launch into cab-snacking afterwards even though everyone else was eating chocolates and ice cream.

ShebaQueen · 20/02/2016 09:56

TooExtra, I have a little milk in tea every day, usually 2 cups in the morning. I am a long time lowcarber though and dairy isn't a problem for me, however it can be for some.

I've also trained myself to try different teas and now have a stash of various varieties, some of which I absolutely love - peppermint, ginger, salted caramel (haven't managed to find the buttermint mentioned on a previous thread but wish I could).

Keep I must admit that I have my old faithfuls that I fall back on regularly. I find that if I am not prepared, that's when I slip, however I have been stuck in a rut a few times and bored with my food. There's really no need though, there's so much you can eat and some great inspiration on here too - have a look at Gcalgske's posts Smile

StuntNun · 20/02/2016 11:51

I haven't seen the Buttermint tea for ages either.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 20/02/2016 12:24

Hello hello!
I forgot to sign into this thread at the start of the week Blush and have been a bit shit all week too BlushBlush

So - STS this week, which isn't at all surprising and I partly blame DH, and mostly myself for lack of willpower. The silly sod only went and bought me fecking chocolates for Valentine's Day - so unreasonable!
I truly meant to not eat them, but didn't manage it. And have been a twat all week since, really. Not helped by DH being away for half the week, having PMT fit to bust and generally wanting to kill everyone and everything around me.

So, enough of the excuses - back on the wagon again, have managed to still STS over the whole week (did go up a bit but have come back down again) despite the twattery, so all is not lost.

I need to make some more crackers for the rest of my duck paté - I wasn't that impressed with the last lot, am wondering if anyone has tried parmesan crackers with e.g. almond flour? Would that work? Should I add an egg to bind it better, as the ones I made with cauli-flour just spread all over the place?

Today has been a bit of a cheese and meat fest - had cold roast beef and cheese slices wrapped in lettuce for lunch; and then dinner was fillet steak with beans (and carrots - DH!) with mushroom sauce. Have just had Babybel for snack as am craving Something and am determined not to eat chocolate.

Am quite pleased with myself for NOT falling facefirst into the Maltesers as DS2 did his "passing out and failling to breathe" thing again this morning; and it took significantly longer to bring him round this time. So, I'm taking him to the GP again on Monday to have a more in-depth chat about it all (they don't know, it just happens, should grow out of it between ages 3-8, depending on which source you believe, probably doesn't do him any actual harm). So I stayed off the chocolate but probably only by dint of having 2 glasses of Pimms with fizzy water.

Tomorrow is another LC day!

Mookbark · 20/02/2016 12:57

So, I've finally had my whoosh over the last two days. I had essentially stayed the same from 4th Feb until two days ago. Since Thursday, I have lost over two pounds! Aren't bodies funny things?
Today,
B - 2 x creamy coffee
L - planning scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and spinach but the day isn't quite going as planned at the moment.
D - sausages with veg

DH has gone on a 5 hour round trip today to pick up an expensive item he has bought himself on eBay. Yay, what joy. Meanwhile, this is the first day I've had at home in the last 13 and have a shed load of jobs to do. Will be sitting down with a spicy chai latte and my crochet for sometime this afternoon or heads probably the children's will roll.

BetsyM00 · 20/02/2016 13:35

Thumb I've just posted an easy crackers recipe on the recipe thread. We love them and go through them at the rate of maltesers!

nekobus · 20/02/2016 13:56

Thanks for all the new recipes, here and on recipe thread. I need some inspiration while I write my shopping list!

So, a week away for half term has meant I've stayed the same - not surprised but just a bit frustrating as I thought I was eating less than usual but I also have my 3rd period since starting BC and maybe it is the wk 3/4/5 stall too...

Back on sensible LC today:
B - avocado with dressing, coffee and cream
L - roast chicken and salad, avocado, dressing, LC mayo
D - will be bolognese with courgetti, might try the fathead garlic bread too!

Thumb, Good luck at docs, sounds like they are a bit clueless. You do so well to stay calm through those episodes Thanks

BIWI · 20/02/2016 14:01

mook have you checked the carbs in that chai latte? The ones I've seen are really high!

MissSmiley · 20/02/2016 14:03

Thumb is your son suffering from reflex anoxic seizures? One of mine had several from 8 months to about two. Hers were always from a pain stimulus but they aren't always. Message me if you want any more info.

MissSmiley · 20/02/2016 14:05

Anyone know how I can do the spreadsheet thing?

B plain yoghurt with a few chopped nuts
L bacon and scrambled egg
D cauliflower cheese and some kind of meat (not sure yet)
2 X coffee with cream
2 X tea with normal milk

Mookbark · 20/02/2016 14:30

BIWI I make it with the twinings spicy chai tea bag, which is just tea with spices, so I am assuming relatively carb-less? I use 250mls of the unsweetened almond milk, so only 0.25g carbs. I sometimes add a splash of cream as a treat, but not usually as it is lovely without it.
Smiley people can struggle if they are on an iPad/phone. If you tell us your starting weight for last Monday, or whenever it was, someone will add it for you.

Wombatinabathhat · 20/02/2016 16:55

Miss I've added you to the bottom of the spreadsheet. Scroll across to last mondays date (15th Feb) and enter your weight. Please don't touch the blue columns.

BIWI · 20/02/2016 17:08

That's OK mook! I was worried for a minute there!

Wombat Flowers for all the help you're offering with the spreadsheet - it's much appreciated

OP posts:
Wombatinabathhat · 20/02/2016 18:18

No problem BIWI Wink

shouldiblowthewhistle · 20/02/2016 18:44

Felicity not to worry. But it's going to stall your otherwise good work, so make your choice (I'm swishing BIWI's big stick!).

Half term is over and so is my carb ingesting. I wasn't too bad, really, but definitely enough to knock me out of ketosis. And interestingly, I don't feel particularly well since having some carbs.

So now the main influences (holidays) are gone I'm back with a vengeance. I'm ducking the dairy now too, as I strongly suspect it's a problem for me. It's been causing me IBS type issues for years and I've been told (at some health spa in Thailand, and once by the Dr here) that I can't handle much dairy.

And no more alcohol either! Blush

feekerry · 20/02/2016 19:23

I have been signed off work for a week with multiple infections and all sorts so have been holed up in bed last 2 days and feel bit better. Not really eaten much of anything tbh. Having had 2 bed rest days (which with 2 toddlers is unheard of!) I am back on it tomorrow and going to use my free week off work to plan some meals etc since I will actually have a second to breath! Stuck in a bit of a lc meal rut. Eat the same things over and over so going to have a good look thru the recipes and chose a few we can all eat. Picky ass toddlers included!!

feekerry · 20/02/2016 19:26

On the dairy front... I know someone mentioned they hated it up thread but for me by a mile almond milk is a winner. I don't notice much difference really. I'm not a big milk drinker tho but the unsweetened natural stuff really isn't much different. Now soya milk.... That's a different story.... Blughh

LexLoofah · 20/02/2016 19:43

oh feekerry hope you feel better

B - courgette & cheddar omelette, yummy
L - ham hock and leek pie made with fathead dough, cauli slathered in butter
D - lc crackers drenched in butter, 2 slices cheddar, cucumber, mayo
dark choc brazils and just having a buttermint tea, sorry for those who can't get hold of it, I got mine in the co-op

shouldiblowthewhistle · 20/02/2016 19:44

fee I hope you're ok.

I'm going to take your tip and go through the recipes as I'm also in a LC rut. I actually love almond milk but thought it was too carby.

feekerry · 20/02/2016 20:20

Just ran of and checked my almond milk in panic... 0.3g carbs per 100ml so no not too carby at all compared to 4.8g per 100ml for normal semi skimmed milk.
Ye there are tonnes of recipes on three. Need to pull my finger out!!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/02/2016 20:34

I really really hope dairy turns out to be ok for me! I'll give it until AF vanishes again and see what happens. I forgot to mention the large glass of dry white wine last night too - that won't have helped!

B: 2 eggs scrambled in butter, cup of tea with ff milk
L: McDonald's - I had a Bacon Clubman with no sauce, and left the bun, so it was essentially burger, cheese slice, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Bit crap, really! I also pulled the coating off a couple of DS's scorned chicken nuggets and ate the chicken.

S: Cup of tea with milk, cup of coffee with cream, BabyBel, some raspberries coated in coconut oil and rolled in cocoa and ground almonds. They were lush!

D: Chicken curry on roast cauliflower. This was amazing - the cauliflower was roasted in coconut oil and it was delicious.

I've only drunk 2 litres of water today, though - I'm struggling because I started very late, having left my bottle at home. My tummy is bloated with water and I just can't face any more right now. I'll try to down the rest by bedtime.
