Morning all

<a class="break-all" href="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vwh_9-y9ejMjg_sFMCK38uoPqZZFps39T7RY-VdUaI8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Vwh_9-y9ejMjg_sFMCK38uoPqZZFps39T7RY-VdUaI8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

No point me weighing in today as the weekend has been lovely shocking. My official weighing-in day is Friday, so hopefully all will be back to normal by then!

Those of you for whom the scales have slowed/stopped, in weeks 3 and 4, hopefully things will get moving again now.

I'm off to Leeds with work for a couple of days, so who knows what I'll be eating? I have, though, packed some boiled eggs, a pot of Total yoghurt and a couple of sachets of tuna in my little cool box, so I know that I have something to eat if the choices available to me aren't low carb.

Good luck all, and hope this is a good week for all of us

Today so far:

B - ff natural yoghurt
L - M&S salad (mixed leaves, cherry toms, cucumber, radish and a chive dressing, with some corned beef
D - who knows! I'll be working from 5-10.30pm, so will have to see when I'm hungry.

I've got a couple of hard boiled eggs, some bits of cheese and some tuna with me, as well as a bag of mixed, salted nuts - so plenty of BC-friendly things to choose from, should there be nothing suitable when I'm actually free to eat.

Thanks BIWI and Stuntnun - wise words.

I'm trying to think of other things to motivate me as some wise soul suggested up thread. So far I have come up with:

  • more energy
  • clearer skin and no more "wine face"
  • fitting into all my lovely Mint Velvet clothes sitting in my wardrobe unworn for the last 12 months whilst I'm stuck in my frumpy "fat" clothes
  • not having my tummy in the way at yoga with my DD
  • getting rid of that constant bloated feeling
  • breaking the awful cycle of comfort eating when under stress which only leads to even more over-eating

We can do it! Felicity please don't leave us and do KOKO.

Equiem89 · 15/02/2016 13:22

Can someone add my weight of 141 please

prettybird · 15/02/2016 14:09

I promise not to mention any of my off-piste adventures next week! Grin

And I will be trying to stay on the straight and narrow while I'm away but I suspect that it's going to be difficult.

I just need to be sure that I've got plenty of LCHF supplies in for when I get back.

hefzi · 15/02/2016 14:44

mustbemad great idea! I have noticed an embarrassing benefit - I am far less flatulent Blush on this WOE than on my previous high carb/low fat one. I wasn't exactly going around performing the trumpet voluntary in public before, but it was sometimes a worry - so I think I'll add it to my positives list. Though that might be TMI!

I'm still sticking with BC because I'm trying to break the cycle of self-soothing with food, and I know that I am more than capable of inhaling a punnet of berries without pausing for breath, not through hunger but through desperation (and the less said about nuts the better: I did cave and buy 100g of brazil nuts last week, but they went very swiftly, and not because I was hungry Blush) but I can feel my attitudes to food very slowly starting to change, especially now I'm not actually craving things any more. So nearly there - and it would be amazing to break the cycle completely, as I have never been able to do that before: even cutting it down to this extent is a blooming miracle Grin

But the recipe thread is so helpful - there are so many yummy possibilities out there, and I also find the weekly threads really helpful, knowing there are other people out there like me (only much slimmer!) facing the same challenges, sometimes having a good week, sometimes having a struggle: it's really motivating me to KOKO

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 15/02/2016 15:11

I too have had a terribly cheaty weekend, but I have put my lowest weight of last week on the spreadsheet because I'm too scared to weigh. Still, onwards and downwards!

mustbemad71 · 15/02/2016 15:38

Hefzi me too - far less windy when I was sticking to it.

Another positive and also probably TMI. Looking forward to getting back to swinging from chandelier as it were without the worry of what wobbly bits are on show instead of missionary under the duvet with lights out. I like sex, a lot, but I know I like it much more when I weigh about a stone less than I do now!

shouldiblowthewhistle · 15/02/2016 15:49

mustbemad I'm going to do that too. Right, positives are definitely:

Less flatulence (thanks hefzi for breaking the ice on that, and I was trumping impressively before)

Much less bloated

Much more energy - have to force myself to bed around 10pm now (up by 6) whereas before I used to drop off in heavy exhaustion around 8.30pm

Much easier PMT with less pain and less mood swings

Consistent energy throughout the day

Less anxious - this one is interesting. I'm biting my nails less and feeling more grounded (although part of this is a new job but this is also a cause for stress, which I'm handling much much better than in living memory)

Much less aches and pains.

Yummy food.

Frankly, it's worth doing for this alone. But some loss would be gratefully acknowledged too must do it properly Blush

BIWI · 15/02/2016 16:14
Grin

I'd also add:

No IBS symptoms/pain

No thrush

No dry skin - used to get this terribly on my upper arms and torso

ShebaQueen · 15/02/2016 16:16

Hello all, I have STS, but for those of you struggling and in need of motivation, I thought I'd mention that I am 43 pounds down since I started this woe in April last year. As Stunt has explained, weight loss is rarely linear and it's also worth taking measurements because I found I sometimes lost inches even when I didn't lose pounds. So KOKO all of you, I am in the healthy BMI band for the first time in years - only just though so I would still like to lose more.

Re benefits, I find I'm managing my menopause symptoms much more easily, I have far fewer aches and pains - especially my back) and most exciting of all, I can buy clothes from virtually anywhere now - whoop!

BIWI · 15/02/2016 16:39

Oh yes - will also add 'no/minimal hot flushes' if any of you are peri menopausal or menopausal

OP posts:
feekerry · 15/02/2016 16:47

142 if someone lovely can add me in so sts which is fine as I am 2lbs off what I hoped to achieve so it's going to get tough. Can't wait to see where I end up!

B fast-

Smoothie made from 250mls of almond milk and 1 tbsp of lowest carb p nut butter I can find.

Lunch
Left over roast chicken from last night and all the skin!!

Dinner
Will be salmon and green veg of some description

NigellasGuest · 15/02/2016 17:35

I'm down 3lb, having STS last weigh in. Glad I didn't fall off the wagon this time last week!

Gcal your garden sounds amazing, much bigger than mine (although no flying trampolines here Grin)

Can erithrol (sp)? cause headaches? I had one all last night and most of this morning, after having the LC custard linked to earlier. I also had one after eating some LC meringue around Christmas time. My meringue was made with a product that just said "erithrol" on the box, and the custard was made with Sukrin Gold.

I've made the cream and chocolate dessert which is great - so rich that 2 teaspoons at a time is quite sufficient. (unheard of for me.... pre-LCing I could easily eat a bag of maltesers for breakfast Blush)
One ramekin of it has lasted so long that I've now put it in the freezer so that it doesn't go off!

hefzi · 15/02/2016 18:45

Oh yes, I completely forgot (was too embarrassed about my wind! Though glad I am not the only person who was depleting the ozone layer before Grin) but BIWI has reminded me -
IBS has virtually vanished already!

As for swinging from the chandeliers mustbemad - I know what you mean: not that I have anyone to swing from them with atm, mind you (and I don't think they could hold me up even if I did!) but it makes you feel so much more confident if you're not giving half a mind to whether this is a "bad angle" etc etc

I'm also going to look out for blowthewhistle's improvement in anxiety: that would be something lovely and very motivational! And as for Sheba and everyone else who mentioned the aches and pains - I think that's right too, on reflection. But sadly my hot flaming flushes have turned out to be a side effect of tablets, and nothing seems to keep those buggers at bay Grin

Onwards, anyway - and who-hoop to feek getting so close to target!

shouldiblowthewhistle · 15/02/2016 18:48

Stunt I just had a close up look at your monthly loss graph. So far, I'm one mark across, so even I don't get a sudden loss when I stop drinking wine soon it's still very early doors. Really inspired me so thanks.

Chicken and bacon salad for dinner tonight.

shouldiblowthewhistle · 15/02/2016 18:50

*fewer aches and pains. Apologies for awful grammar Blush

Moanranger · 15/02/2016 19:14

Hi, complete arithmetic fail on my part - the amount lost is correct, but the total should be 189.
If the spreadsheet elf can make that correction, I would be very grateful😬

Wombatinabathhat · 15/02/2016 19:21

Equiem and Feekerry I've added you.

Pretty much stayed the same. Going to try for strict week

Felicity I hope you are still reading. Can I just tell you that on the bc before christmas, I lost a stone. The scales don't always move much. Since then, the scales haven't really moved much, but my clothes have become looser. A colleague told me the other day that I looked as though as I am still losing weight but I haven't really.

Can you give it another 2 weeks and see how you feel? Thanks

Wombatinabathhat · 15/02/2016 19:23

Moan I've added the correct weight

Just tried on a coat that was impossible to wear. It does up! Not perfect yet but much better.

But I've not lost a pound. Weird.

Patapouf · 15/02/2016 19:59

1lb off this week if someone wouldn't mind adding it to the SoF for me?

Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with butter and a bit of grated cheese
Lunch: peperami and cheestring 🙈🙈
Dinner: m&s 97% pork sausages with leeks, spinach in a baked omelette thingy. Looks a bit like egg toad in the hole with veg in.
S: tablespoon of leftover 90% choc ganache from last night.

feekerry · 15/02/2016 20:01

Ta wombat

momofgirls · 15/02/2016 20:17

Thanks wombat had forgotten the changeover to new thread on a Monday thought it had gone quiet. Just tried courgette grated and cooked in olive oil with a spoon of pesto and meatballs (it was filling and had a nice crunch). Too try cauliflower rice later in the week.
For lunch had avocado, cucumber and garlic herb cream cheese (another tasty dish)
Good luck and KOKO nearly half way and what happens next Biwi?

knowclue · 15/02/2016 20:18

BIWI huge benefit for me being the minimal hot flushes! Feel sooo much better in that respect.
Wand I use MFP for weight tracking and macros, I find its okay on the whole, sometimes surprises me that I've eaten more carb value foods than I expected., same as you with the cal intake.

Horrible horrible day, glad to be home.
B: egg
L: salad
D: LC soup, brocc, little cheese

Could some kind person put me on the SOfF please? 137.00 thank you!
