Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

Thank you for the redirection Thumbwitches! Am repeating my hello to all, hope I'm not too late to join up? Have Low carb and boot camped some years back and lost about 10lbs, it's crept back on thanks to the horrors of menopause. Tried feebly to drop the gained weight last summer but failed abysmally, and really need to get back to my normal size this year.

Could a kind person please add me to the spreadsheet? I've looked but nervous to amend in case I mess it up!
Thank you (144lbs)

mustbemad71 · 25/01/2016 14:16

Guy from the research that I've done I know that stress can impede weight loss - it's all to do with excess cortisol. I think that leads to stubborn belly fat - just to add insult to injury! I hope that you are finding time to take care of yourself as well as everybody else!

recyclingbag · 25/01/2016 14:19

argh - how to cope with afternoon cravings?

I haven't felt like this since I gave up smoking! I'm jittery and feel a bit anxious. I just can't concentrate.

Today I've had
B - admittedly not very nice nutribullet
L - 3 egg omelette with butter, parmesan & chorizo

I've just refilled my water bottle.

blackteaplease · 25/01/2016 14:28

Recyclingbag you aren't supposed to be starving yourself. Why don't you have a low carb snack or a salty drink.

recyclingbag · 25/01/2016 14:30

I've got no low carb snacks in the house (I need to go shopping this afternoon) but I do have some miso soup. I'll try that.

What are your favourite snacks?

I'm not hungry, just jittery.

blackteaplease · 25/01/2016 14:33

Hmm cheese is probably my go to snack. Miso soup will help, is there anything you can do to take your mind off the jitters?

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 25/01/2016 14:36

I just made some swede chips and they were ok.

knowclue · 25/01/2016 14:51

Nope. Definitely useless at entering my name and weight on the spread sheet!

Miso is too carby, surely? I have some in my cupboard that would be anyway.

recyclingbag · 25/01/2016 16:05

Dear God surely not! Let me go and check!

antimatter · 25/01/2016 16:17

I think it is important to remember that an appetite for snacks is a sign that you had something too carby in the last 48 hours.

Only fatty snack will curb it but if possible no snacks.
Our bodies should find calories in our stores of glycogen in the liver or start breaking up fat.

In my experience if I start snacking I am on the road to failure Sad

Mookbark · 25/01/2016 16:26

I've joined the gym Shock. I have been running the last couple of years, rather than going to the gym because I find it more convenient. However, I've been really nesh recently and don't want to run in the cold, so thought I would join a nice lovely expensive warm gym. Just got to go now...

BetsyM00 · 25/01/2016 16:45

knowclue - I've added your (and mine) weight to the bottom of the spreadsheet. The rows are locked so cannot add them alphabetically. Hopefully the spreadsheet queen will sort it out when she sees it.

VagueIdeas · 25/01/2016 16:45

Ok, miso soup. Technically too carby per 100g, but carbs per serving is small. I'm never sure whether something like this is excluded when LCing, or whether it would be OK for Bootcamp.

I am known for being too much of a rule follower Grin

BIWI, what's your opinion?

Week 2 - 2016 Low Carb Bootcamp - our first official weigh-in!
recyclingbag · 25/01/2016 16:54

I'm not sure I want to live in a world where Miso soup is considered decadent :-D

Wombatinabathhat · 25/01/2016 16:57

knowclue You are already on the spreadsheet.

I've stayed the same which is more than I deserve. I've drawn a line under last week.

Fantastic losses everyone and it's good to see the thread so busy.

B: 2 hard boiled eggs
L: Bolognese with courgette
D: Lamb shank with sprouts and buttery cabbage
S: Pork scratchings

'first' day today has been ok -

L:mushrooms fried in butter on watercress

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 25/01/2016 18:04

Had a ricotta stuffed mushroom with my bolognese, was rather nice. Just finishing litre number four and will take a cup of herbal tea (red berry tonight i think) up to bed with me :)
