Morning campers!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I hope it was a good week, and I hope that those of you who have been suffering from carb flu are starting to feel better. Remember, keep up the electrolytes - sodium, potassium and magnesium. Which means firstly that you have to make sure you're getting plenty of salt - so salt your food during cooking and add salt to cooked food.

For potassium, you could also consider Lo-Salt. Good foods for all electrolytes include salmon, avocado, spinach and full fat (of course!) natural yoghurt.

A note about weighing in

If you're a daily weigher, you have several different options. You can either just record your weight every Monday (or whatever regular day of the week you choose - I am going to start weighing in on a Saturday, because my trainer records my weight as well, to keep me on track!).

Or you can record the lowest weight you achieved in that week

Or you can average your weights and record the average.

Whatever you decide, I hope it's a positive result!

The cabbage carbonara is amazing! I love proper pasta carbonara and this totally replaces it. OH and I had it as a side but I could have eaten a whole bowl full Grin

Wombatinabathhat · 25/01/2016 20:54

mom I have added it. Just be careful not to put anything in the blue columns.
Disco I've added you at 166.8 pounds which is what safari converts from kgs

momofgirls · 25/01/2016 21:08

Thanks *Wombatinabathhat for correcting.
Looks like me & Disco are the same weights.

VikingLady · 25/01/2016 21:37

Only 1lb down! Could someone add that for me please?

But I started a bit late, and I don't think I've drunk enough water. I'll try harder this week! Just bought loads of reduced meat at Morrisons so I'm good to go, though the mince is lean so I'm adding fat when I cook it. God I miss butter though (allergy-ridden child)

Gcalgske · 25/01/2016 21:47

Viking my dd has just grown out of her dairy allergy (so I know where you are coming from). The BEST thing I ever found was biona cuisine, a non scented/ flavoured coconut oil (but unlike the cheap and cheerful brands it's lightly steamed, not highly processed so it retains the MCTs etc)
Weirdly it makes things like scrambled eggs taste buttery.

AuntieMaggie · 25/01/2016 21:56

I'm weighing in kgs... would it mess up the spreadsheet to enter it like that?

I'm 2.5kg down so really pleased Smile and not hungry most of the time

Well done everyone on your losses

Gcalgske · 25/01/2016 22:03

Thanks lex

guy sorry to hear what you are going through. It's tough to lose under stress. Cortisol is the bane of my existence (I have PTSD so it's all over the place). Cortisol promotes 'central obesity' (round the middle) and loss will be slow but does happen. Hang in there.

Food today:

Creamy coffee
Bacon rib and cucumber eaten in the car (one of those hectic badly planned for days)
Chicken breast roast in olive oil, swede mash with garlic/shallot/chilli, lots of melted butter

Seeing as I can be open about BC lite now I also had 3 squares of 85% green and blacks and a creamy coffee in the afternoon.

Had lots of water and tried the new lidl bargain 19p fizzy water (it's not nice - I'll stick to my luxury Aldi 4 for 99p Wink)

Also tried the salted caramel green tea, I infused for the reccomended 2 minutes and it tasted ok but like a weak version of buttermint.

FelicityFunknickle · 25/01/2016 22:05

Well done dailywhale and viking

Living off scraps Grin but I went shopping today so I have a week of meals planned and a large feta and spinach crustless quiche to work through.
B: bpc (i kniw, not a meal but very busy morning and i wasnt really hungry
L: 3 slices air dried ham, small wedge of "quiche"
D: leftover celeriac dauphinois, cold roast beef salad with horseradish mayo.
A few coffees with cream
I am genuinely not hungry most of the time but when I cut the DCs choc cake up I did feel a pang, and as DH has annoyed me today I could have murdered a glass of wine.
But all swerved with minimal discomfort and maximum smuggery.

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 25/01/2016 22:49

Bad pain day so weird on the eating front as comfort eating.
B: 2 eggs scrambled in butter
11:30am 3 eggs poached (in a poaching pan so extra butter)
4pm Cauliflower cheesy mash
8:30pm ds did me 2 eggs scrambled in oil

Had almost 4 cups of coffee which is bad, however have managed to drink 6 ltrs of water and still thirsty so will probably drink another before bed. Ds made me a herbal tea with supper and I am about to also go get a hot oxo cube drink.

MollyRedskirts · 25/01/2016 22:53

5lb off for me if you count lowest weight, or 3lb off if you count today's weigh-in. I think I overdid the cheese and I've certainly not had anywhere near enough water. I've bought myself a sports bottle to try and keep beside me to remind myself to drink.

Er, I think I already know the answer to this, but is kebab meat low-carb? I know it's very very processed and we're not supposed to have processed things on strict Bootcamp. Asking for a friend, honest. Wink

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 25/01/2016 23:20

Re cauliflower pizzas - I've not got around to trying these yet, but when I do normal pizza base (well, spelt flour), I usually cook the bases on their own first for a few minutes, otherwise I find they stay soggy in the middle. Would this work with the cauli pizza bases as well?

hefzi · 25/01/2016 23:31

Gcalgske great idea! Thanks - I've been scarfing cucumber with cheese a lot, but noshing it alone would work perfectly for crunch and juciness.

DiscoDancer · 25/01/2016 23:38

Had some boodles from sainsbos earlier, butternut squash noodles! With chicken green Thai curry and veg. Only a handful of boodles though but were quite yummy tossed in coconut oil.

Feeling really tired today. Am drinking lots of water, at lease 3 litres but think am exhausted with work too.

Well done everyone on the weight loss! It's brill to see everyone going on the right direction Smile

Gcalgske · 25/01/2016 23:38

I always cooked the cauli base separately then topped and cooked again but I've also had the same problem as biwi. They are a bit soggy. It would easier if my hands were actually made of asbestos Grin but as they are not I found the most effective way to remove liquid was to steam cauli then wrap in muslin and use my potato ricer to squeeze. It's about 90-95% effective but I think the fathead crust is far superior now (and allowed as can have a few nuts in BC Lite) X

FlorisApple · 25/01/2016 23:44

Hefzi, I know what you mean about fruit. A few years ago, I was eating loads of it, thinking "at least it's a healthy snack!" Duh. But, the good news is, that once you get over the cravings and really get used to this WOE, then when you have the very occasional piece of fruit, it tastes like the sweetest dessert imaginable and is quite satiating. I found I really do lose my sweet tooth (eventually!) and you start to taste how sweet things actually are. Where, perhaps once, I would have added sugar to strawberries and cream, they start to taste like little sweets on their own, and it's easier to think of them as a special treat.

RomiiRoo · 26/01/2016 05:31

I agree about losing taste for sweet things over time. I have reduced the sugar in DCs diets as well (best result being that they eat 70 or 85% chocolate in small bits, not whole bars of mostly sugar chocolate). DS is a carb monster, I need to be careful with his diet - I have got him on low glycaemic index which is a bit different from LC and more manageable for school.

Wand I found addressing my diet and emotional eating opened up space to look at (rather than ignore by reaching for the chocolate) other aspects of my life. Self-awareness is not always an easy path, but probably a healthier one.

Guy Flowers

Have a good day everyone.

ICJump · 26/01/2016 06:12

Good so far

B fried egg salad and mayo 2 coffees and cream
L BIWI coleslaw, burgers (homemade full fat mince), skinless sausage, salad, tatszki, humous(I know but it was a friends home made one)

D will left over roast chicken and veggies

ApplySomePressure · 26/01/2016 06:40

Not a daily thread updater, but still here! 7lbs off.

I hope everyone has a great week!

StuntNun · 26/01/2016 06:53

Molly kebab meat is usually full of rusk so it won't be particularly low carb. Does your 'friend' like chicken kebabs? I order one of those without pitta or chips yes without pitta or chips, yes just the meat, salad and sauce, no I don't want chips from my local takeaway sometimes.

mustbemad71 · 26/01/2016 07:34

Morning all

Plan for today:

B scrambled egg avo and spinach
L left over pesto chicken from last night with broccoli
D lamb steaks with Cauli mash and more broccoli

No snacking in cheese today, plenty of water instead!

Did anyone see how to lose weight well
Last night? Lady doing our woe lost 8lbs in 14 days!

BIWI · 26/01/2016 07:36

ICJump - just because it was homemade doesn't reduce the carbs! Grin

Congrats everyone!

Mookbark · 26/01/2016 08:49

Morning all.
mustbe I missed the LC one. From the ones I saw, the bloke doing the cookie diet did best! He complained about being hungry all the time though, so not keen on that.
I feel in the swing of this again now, had another good day yesterday.
Today, I will mostly be eating;
B - coffee and cream x2, may even have an avocado mashed with butter
L - hm mackerel pate with lettuce and cucumber
D - I think a chicken carbonara type thingy with cougetti.
S - spicy chai latte

I'm also going to go to the gym and sign the paperwork after work today and I may even stay and do a workout. Grin Go me!

lavenderhoney · 26/01/2016 09:02

Dreadful night as I still feel awful and now another symptom of feeling completely exhausted. DC both got into my bed, which meant I couldn't sleep at all what with their fidgeting about. Ds woke me up to moan his dsis was snoring(!) arghh!

That's v interesting a pp mentioned cortisol hinders weight loss- I am mid a v acrimonious court schedule re divorce and it keeps me awake at night and I wake up v early worrying about it.

B- coffee with cream, LC sausage which is good as I don't feel hungry at all. I made myself:)

Im drinking lots of water and plan to get the DC into bed early, then sit in a hot bath with a book and a bottle of water. I must get a good nights sleep.
