Is anyone up for an interim bootcamp?

I've put on 2kg due to holiday, wine and carb only options at work catered events over the past few weeks and it needs to come off!
I'm back on BC today, anyone like to join me?

pseudo - it was nice but not as fabulous as the price!

Missfit - no specific count on Bootcamp. Just follow Bootcamp rules and you'll be fine. And stop worrying about fat! It's the carbs that make you fat not the fat.

ShebaQueen · 09/09/2015 22:41

Congratulations BIWI and Mr BIWI, wishing you many more years of happiness.

I'm in for interim bootcamp. I have so much weight to lose that I've been going all summer. I downgraded to bootcamp lite whilst on holiday and managed to stay the same - hurrah!

Since I got back I've been back on bootcamp and losing every week, albeit only small amounts. The last time I was this weight was 10 years ago! So grateful to BIWI and everyone for their support.

AStoneBeforeChristmas · 09/09/2015 23:30

I'd like to join in too, please. My stone before Christmas has crept up to two, possibly 2.5. Shocking. There's about 14 weeks until Christmas - is a 35lb weight loss even remotely achievable??

MissFitt68 · 10/09/2015 08:04

I think it's possible

My weight loss seems to have stalled a bit. Not sure why, but I'll keep going. I had a bit of veg stir fry last night with some carrot and peppers in... Tasted so so sweet. And scraped the sauce off a hunters chicken but the remnants left on it were sickly sweet as well

HumphreyCobblers · 10/09/2015 08:50

Don't worry about a stall MissFitt, the weight loss will not necessarily be regular. You may lose inches whilst not losing any pounds also. I stopped weighing myself because of stalling, it seems easier now just to keep on with the low carbing as I know it is a long term solution.

I have very nearly stopped breastfeeding. I am so pleased about this as I really hope my enormous boobs will shrink a bit.

NeverHadANickname · 10/09/2015 13:16

I did bootcamp ages ago and loved it. Really need it again. I have never eaten much meat but eat less now so might be hard to get my head into an almost vegetarian approach.

whitershadeofpale · 11/09/2015 20:05

I salvaged a difficult evening today, after dinner I was badly craving something sweet (which only happens every few months when I'm hormonal). Instead of reaching for cake I made a crumble- I cooked some blueberries with a dash of vanilla powder. Then I used a flax seed and nut mix, mixed with butter and a little bit on cinnamon on top, baked for 20 mins or so and served with double cream. It was delicious and I didn't miss sugar at all. In fact, earlier someone poured me 1/2 a glass of what had been my favourite wine. It tasted so sweet I couldn't drink it!

ShebaQueen · 11/09/2015 20:20

That sounds delicious Whiter, it's good to have an alternative you can turn to when you crave something. My saviour is a mix of Greek yoghurt and double cream with a couple of crushed strawberries stirred through. Has saved me from feeling deprived many times Smile

HumphreyCobblers · 11/09/2015 20:57

I have just eaten blueberries and yoghurt. I needed it. Poor toddler Cobbler has been poorly and I have been feeding him all day....so much for giving up breastfeeding Grin

dementedma · 11/09/2015 21:03

Yes please. I want to do it.

HumphreyCobblers · 12/09/2015 12:57

hello everyone

had a good day as i woke up feeling much thinner. I don't weigh but am def noticing an improvement in the way my clothes fit. Yay.

DH has been doing a very light version of bootcamp (he eats brown rice and lentils) and has lost loads. I am so jealous he can do this with that amount of carbs on board.

BIWI · 12/09/2015 13:32

It's not fair, is it, Humph? Men lose weight more quickly and can eat more/more carbs.

Working today with catered lunch and dinner so probably quite carby Sad Nothing I can do so will have to minimise as much as possible and then tomorrow is a new day!

I hate days like that!

glenthebattleostrich · 13/09/2015 10:38

Hello, Can I join in?

I started bootcamp last week and have lost 3.5 lb this week.

Put over 1 stone on over the summer holidays and want it gone (plus a little) by Christmas. I've bought a water jug so I can get 3 litres of water a day, cut back to the occasional can of diet pepsi (from over 1 litre a day) and am feeling loads better for it.

But I know the sweet cravings will hit soon, especially as I have a bag of chocolates left over from my birthday so will need someone to kick my backside.

BIWI · 13/09/2015 11:13

Of course you can join, glen! Well done on the loss so far.

BestIsWestOfGallifrey · 13/09/2015 11:23

I need to join . I've put a stone back on after having an op in July and doing nothing all summer and not paying attention to what I eat. When is the next official bootcamp?

FinallyHere · 13/09/2015 12:32

Bookmarking. Ive fallen off the waggon on a few separate occasions and plan to jump back on , well, now.

And congratulations BIWI and Mr BIWI on 25 years. We are off to Sydney and points north on Tuesday. Hope you enjoy the wedding, ours is to see grandchildren.

glenthebattleostrich · 13/09/2015 19:47

Thanks BIWI. Congrats by the way.

How easy is 5:2 with low carb? I get cranky when I get low blood sugar

FinallyHere · 13/09/2015 20:17

Hi glen, one f my major reasons going for low carb, is exactly because i find it gets rid of the rollercoaster of low and high blood sugar. Im not very clear about the science of it, i jnust know that with low carb i can easy go from meal to meal, i dont need a snack to keep me going in between. Its really brilliant.

BIWI · 13/09/2015 20:28

I think, from everything that I've read, that 5:2 and low carbing would go very well together. The health benefits of both seem very similar. And if you're low carbing, and your blood sugar levels are stable, your appetite is suppressed so you should be able to cope with a lower level of calories.

glenthebattleostrich · 13/09/2015 21:50

Thank you.

Think I'll try it this week and see how I get on.

Yddraigoldragon · 13/09/2015 22:43

It is interesting to do low carb and 5:2 together, each fast day seems to boost the low carb process. Low carb really does stabilise blood sugars, I am diabetic so have tested frequently in the past to ensure my levels are safe on a low carb woe.

I test at two hour intervals throughout each fast day (for my own peace of mind) and always carry food just in case levels drop too low. So far I have not needed it.

Fast day diet is two large eggs plus about 5g of butter for breakfast, no lunch, then about 120g chicken and a little butter and a stock cube for tea with a mountain of white cabbage. I aim for 500 - 600 calories on a fast day, and do not weigh or measure anything on a non fast day.

BIWI · 13/09/2015 22:46

Thanks, Yddraig - that's really interesting!

Yddraigoldragon · 13/09/2015 23:00

Just to add, I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic two years ago, HbA1c was 78. Last test it was 38 which was noted on the results sheet as below diabetic range, and in theory indicates that levels have been stable over some weeks.

Control of blood sugar is my main aim - which is why I low carb. Hopefully by avoiding high sugar levels I can reduce the galloping scary nastiness of diabetes as I get older.
