Don't despair! There will be an ongoing chat thread, until the next Bootcamp starts. Which will probably be some time in May.

romey the oven has blown the fuse on the circuit panel in the garage. It means I can use the hob and grill, but I can't use the oven.

Glad to hear it beyond

Just watching the sugar programme now.

Gcalgske · 20/03/2015 14:44

Yay biwi! My toddler is poorly and I have had little sleep but LOTS of coffee! I need wine.

Romeyroo · 20/03/2015 15:30

Have you got circuit breakers sass - or is it a fuse box? (Maybe out of my depth here electrically...)

sassandfaff · 20/03/2015 15:41

Dp says ours is a fuse box, but because they don't do them anymore, he has had to buy a circuit breaker.

He is an electrical/electronic engineer though, so I don't know how easy it I'd for the layman.

sassandfaff · 20/03/2015 15:47

romey

Dp says- (he typed it)

Turn off cooker, Go to the fuse box, turn off the main power switch to the box, remove the blown fuse, then unscrew the fuse holder behind it, buy new circuit breaker (32amp for cooker) screw in new holder that comes with circuit breaker and then fit circuit breaker(just push it in).

sassandfaff · 20/03/2015 15:49

Don't forget to turn the electrics off. I don't want a death on my hands!

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 20/03/2015 15:50

You have to be a qualified electrician or get a qualified electrician to certify the installation of a new fuse box iirc. Dad installed one (he is also an engineer) but had to get it certified when they sold their house due to regulations that were brought in. It is possible the certification was precautionary/to help the ease of sale though. But worth checking out for the layman prior as I know Dad had problems finding an electrician willing to provide the certification on work they had not done.

Food ok-good, coffee intake bad, water intake needs work.

sassandfaff · 20/03/2015 15:54

bitchy dp says its not a new fuse box. It's just swapping a fuse for a fuse except they don't do fuses anymore, so you need to swap a fuse for a circuit breaker instead, but its the same principle.

The fuse box itself is still intact/the old one.

BitchyDoesWitchyThings · 20/03/2015 16:00

And now that is easy, sorry totally misunderstood you. We have a main house circuit breaker as well as circuit breaking fuse things in the fuse box. I forget not all houses have this set up Blush Bless over pre-cautious over protective fathers Wink

sassandfaff · 20/03/2015 16:12

S'ok. I don't understand at all. Goes right over my head i find it utterly boring
If dp weren't here, I'd ring my dad too.

Smile
BeyondDoesBootcamp · 20/03/2015 16:42

I've got a poorly one too gcal, ds1 possibly has scarlet fever and has been cwtchy all day. After dh had spewy/pooey-ness yesterday too.

Yet im the one with the compromised immune system and (yet) nothing! Must be the diet Wink

Pisseslikeahorse · 20/03/2015 17:35

really trying to keep it together today, I've got my run in the morning and just feel despondent, still haven't shifted the last few pounds and am starting to crave sweet things...

LexLoofah · 20/03/2015 17:35

hello all, sorry to hear about poorly cookers and poorly DCs, hope things improve for the weekend on both fronts!

Didn't post food yesterday as much the same, today too really. Not getting bored just in a routine now I think. Spent a bit of time on pinterest last night whilst doing shopping list so feeling all inspired but then of course it depends on what they actually have in, so annoying when the boat does not come and they are out of half the stuff you need.

Anyway last of the dark choc in my desk drawer went yesterday too so must not buy any more, also must not buy mini eggs at the shop, must not buy mini eggs at the shop, must not buy mini eggs at the shop ...

Mrsstevejones · 20/03/2015 18:39

Rubbish day food wise, lots going on and i feel like i am been pulled in 10 different directions and not giving anyone enough time.

Pics taken, i didnt get to see as i had to take mother home and visit poorly gran, she has just found out she has cancer - devastated doesnt quite cover it. Strangely no desire to comfort eat yet. She is being very brave and positive but has sorted out her affairs :(

I did manage to negotiate a 50% reduction in agents fees however even after DH agreed to pay full price!

B- 2 X BPC
L- 2 mini pepperami, 2 slices of corned beef and cheese with mayo - nothing veg like
D -Will be - Green smoothie

Not nearly enough water again but will try to sort that out now as massive headache.

Gcalgske · 20/03/2015 19:11

beyond hugs for your little uns. dons hazmat suit I took dd to the dr yesterday to get extended disco remix version of "it's just a virus, you're wasting my time" with a chorus of "overprotective mummy alert". Dr is a smug arse who i'd rather not see but it's always him on emergency appointments (guess no one else wants to see him either).
I do get less bugs when being good with low carb , feel less weepy at TOM too, low carb has all sorts of extras. DH has agreed to take Bubs over night (I've had about 4 hours total sleep in the last two nights while he snored on) so no doubt she'll sleep through like an angel.
I had a Big Mac (no bun) at lunch - I know it's shite but all I could manage to get hubby to bring me/ face. Dinner was better - rescued a low carb curry from the freezer. Was lovely (microwaved to defrost then resuscitated with some cauli, chilli flakes, extra coconut oil and coconut milk)
I'm going to have wine and soda and codeine then pass out.

BIWI · 20/03/2015 19:46

Pisses

You will be fine!

Quadrophenia if your optician has seen cholesterol deposits in your eyes then go to your GP and tell then what has happened and ask for a lipid profile, which is usually total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides. Do not be fobbed off with just total cholesterol as that single result is worse than useless on its own. Low carb high fat diets tend to cause a slight increase in total cholesterol and LDL and a big drop in triglycerides. This is usually taken to mean that your LDL particles have got bigger and fluffier, it's the small dense LDL particles that do the damage so while it seems counter-intuitive to want LDL to increase it is actually the ratio between LDL and triglycerides that is all important. In my case my LDL went up by 0.3 but my triglycerides dropped by 0.6 so the ratio was much improved.

Mootime I found intermittent fasting 14:10 worked well for me when I was near my maintenance weight and trying to get the last few pounds off. I would count ten hours from my last food of the night before before eating again. You can have up to 50 calories during your fast so you can will have a cup of tea in the morning. I usually ended up having a big brunch around 11 on my fasting days. If I woke up and I was really hungry then I didn't fast so I ended up fasting three or four days a week.

CharlieSierra · 20/03/2015 20:03

Wow on all the losses! I'm still bunged up and refusing to weigh myself Confused

I'm meeting DD and DDil for lunch tomorrow, they've picked Zizzi's so I've looked at the menu and it looks like a chicken and prosciutto salad for me. Anyone tried it?

Gcalgske I wasn't going to buy anything this month but now you've posted that link to the shoes there is a very expensive pair of sandals calling my name! Maybe I deserve a treat though, I've been very good Grin

Pisseslikeahorse · 20/03/2015 20:44

Thanks BIWI just what I needed to bring me back to reality, well that and ds projectile vomiting over the back of my seat whilst I was driving home tonight. I couldn't eat a thing the way I smell at the moment Grin

Gcalgske · 20/03/2015 21:50

I love united nudes, do it charlie they are so comfy and lush. Viva la diva used to sell them so before I was a SAHM and actually had money and places to wear shoes work(not wellies/converse as is the SAHM uniform) I had a few pairs. Couldn't wear them now though with the dodgy back. Flats only. :(
Sigh...

ijustwanttobeme · 20/03/2015 21:52

Back after a lovely few days away.

Tried sticking to BC and for much if it, I was ok. On our last night though, I had my first full carby meal in 56 days! Thought I'd be ok when I got home, switching back to BC properly.

Didn't quite go to plan as carb cravings kicked in, plus I've been stressed at work, so used eating cake and biscuits, like an emotional crutch.

In the last two days I've got my act together though.

Weighed myself and damage has not been too bad. Not adding to spreadsheet and will see outcome on Monday.

B: poached eggs and smoked salmon
L: latte x2
D: tandoori chicken, with an okra and vegetable curry

LexLoofah · 20/03/2015 22:40

Snack attack, OMG have discovered dill pickles: crunchy & salty mmmm

Romeyroo · 20/03/2015 22:46

Thank you for the oven help - bless your dp sass, though I suspect he may have just confirmed my cluelessness. I think I have a mains circuit breaker, the house was re-wired when I moved in and it has switches for different circuits if something goes. When the oven went, I had to switch the oven off at the wall and re-set the RCD switch to get that part of the circuit going again. I can't change a fuse on an RCD switch can I?

Hob still works, thank goodness.

For the bungs, I have been following advice on here - having the coconut and flaxseed breakfast mainly. Contrary to advice on here, I do think eggs make it worse for me, so I am sparing with them. I ditched the iron supplement I was using as well, but the outcome was worse tiredness, so now have a different supplement which includes iron. Waiting to see the effect of that - stomach ache mainly, I think.

MrsS really sorry to hear about your gran Sad

hope things improve for those with poorly DCFlowers

Somewhat chaotic food:
Coconut milk and flaxseed breakfast
No lunch as b was late and out and about
S when got home - cucumber and Mayo
D which was too late and possibly why my digestive system is complaining - courgetti bolognese - it was yummy

Definitely run out of energy for today ...

trashcanjunkie · 20/03/2015 23:25

Hey pisses sorry you're feeling low. I done dp with your 'orrible camel nip and he was dead impressed. Come on post run, we'll be waiting to clap you on the virtual back buddy.

Mrssteve that's horrible news, I'm so sorry to hear that.

And pity for all those with lurgy bairns.

I have a lot of dogs this weekend. One extra in the house, which is decidedly yappy. I've also got a new client to meet in the morning with a view to taking her two dogs out twice tomorrow and twice on sunday as they are away Shock I really hope she has some one house sitting, as I don't think I will agree to leaving them unattended overnight. Is that even allowed?

Saw the eclipse this morning with the dcs. They absolutely loved it. But I had to get up before seven and do collecting dogs. Gah. My children are far too old for that kind of getting up time.

I have been hungry today. And cos I haven't been shopping and planning, food has been under par imo

B - Bacon, egg, 3 fat sausages, tomato half black pudding

L - 2 babybell and some salami sticks

D - Roast chicken, avocado, olives small splodge of houmous

Need to chat with dp about carb creep. If he's doing the meals, he's being a bit of a bell end with certain choices, and I am adamant that he does the tea a couple of times a week, but he must do the thinking for the meal as well, otherwise that's lame.

Houmous is not acceptable.

Went to the climbing wall all together though. Great fun. Oh and I did running today. For a very short time. Nearly brought up a lung, but special foot and knee held out splendidly Grin
