Low-carb bootcamp

Week 6 - Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - it's all downhill from here!

Evening all.

I'm starting this thread earlier than usual because I have to be up and out of the house by 7.30 tomorrow.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness as usual

And don't forget the Weight Tracker

I hope the God of Wooshes is looking favourably on you all!

From tomorrow I have 19 days until I fly off to Somewhere Hot, so I will be super vigilant and fighting off those pesky carbs with much vim and vigour.

Welcome, Alannah! Of course you can join in Grin

How much do you have to lose?

And yes, pumpkin soup could derail you at this stage - especially if it has potato in it. But don't worry.

Are you following Bootcamp rules? Are you eating plenty of fat and drinking plenty of water?

Chester I would like this advent calendar but I don't think I'll be getting it at £150!

Hello Alannah I think yes, if the soup has potato in it might have derailed things a bit but not for long - you should start losing weight soon as long as you stick to the rules.

Yankee candle advent calendar. Although I got it from a shop for £18.99.

I may not have told DH how much it cost.

I've had loads of parcels delivered this week and I've forgotten what half of them are...

Wow Sarah that is amazing. And for £420 worth of stuff for £150 is clearly a bargain Grin

Cheers Clash I've told DH I'm getting one with the money I've saved us on wine and chocolate since I started BC. Will have a look in town at the weekend and if not I'll order online.

I know what you mean about parcels - between DS's birthday next week and christmas our poor postman is pretty much a family friend - apart from the dog, the dog hates him!

Hello everyone, I haven't been round much this week but have stuck to low carb post trip away. Fingers crossed I'll see a shift in the scales next week. I've not been recording my food because frankly I'm embarrassed by how disorganised it is, but here's today:

Coffee with cream
Yogurt with cream and raspberries
Tuna mayo and salad
Two burgers with cheese and crispy bacon, broccoli and tomatoes

thanks Biwi and sarah,

At least if I know why I might not have lost weight it helps to keep going ! I have about 10lbs minimum , possibly a stone to lose which might not sound much but makes a big difference as I am quite short and it is all round the middle.

I am eating lots of fat and drinking water and suprised how full I feel. Will keep reading.

BIWI · 07/11/2014 22:13

In the great scheme of things, 10lbs isn't that much, so you will find that your loss won't be huge each week. And it's really important in the first couple of weeks when you're switching to low carbing to be strict and to stick with it!

Done a whole hour and half of full on, forget to breathe lungs burn and hate ya kinda stuff, and had a post training snack of some baby bels nuked to explosive gooey loveliness.

Did a lot of think about what worked for me first time around (1 year ago) bootcamp wise and what has been different since then. Realised that it was the training that was the big difference. So, if at all possible I am going to try to haul myself off to training at least once a fortnight, although I might have to be a tad more realistic and pace myself a bit better. Was having HUGE amounts of fun though Grin

We had a power cut last night so had to go out for dinner and the kids chose Chinese. What a disaster, everything tasted so sugary sweet that I couldn't even enjoy having an excursion and I felt pretty nauseous afterwards so the sauces must have been full of sugar. What a waste of carbs.

Off to a bonfire party tonight so keeping low carb through the day and hoping for the best.

Plan is:

B: eggs in butter, 3x bacon, mushrooms in butter
L: prawns, avocado, mayo, salad leaves
S before party: BPC
D: sausages no bun, red wine Grin

Theres nothing like LC for altering your taste buds Stunt Grin I haven't been able to enjoy a bought Chinese for years as they are death to coeliacs but I have noticed the sweetness in almost everything I eat. Even the daftest and most savoury things seem to be sweetened now. Hubs offered me a sweet the other day and I actually cringed at the thought! Never thought that day would ever come. Grin I had reached the point where things could never be sweet enough!

They look interesting Tanukisan. More like a baked egg than a quiche but I'm thinking I might try the bacon idea filled with my quiche mix. I have family who wont eat yolks and ones who don't like whites but will demolish eggs if they are mixed up!

Possibly a silly question, what does bpc stand for? Have seen it a few times and meant to ask earlier

Bullet proof coffee. Some ghastly mix of coffee, butter and coconut oil, I think! It's a way for some people to get extra fat into their diet.

I only have salted butter here, otherwise i'd try one in the morning. I'm just worried it'll be a waste of the blardy expensive coconut oil Grin
