Evening all.

I'm starting this thread earlier than usual because I have to be up and out of the house by 7.30 tomorrow.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness as usual

And don't forget the Weight Tracker

I hope the God of Wooshes is looking favourably on you all!

From tomorrow I have 19 days until I fly off to Somewhere Hot, so I will be super vigilant and fighting off those pesky carbs with much vim and vigour.

Blush meant to say yes will be perfectly fine once the side effects have worked their way through my system. but I have to be kept an eye on until they do Hmm

Oh bitchy hope you are ok, are you in hospital just now? Hopefully meds will clear quickly and at least you, and the doctors, know not to give it to you again!

Yeah BAB sounds good. I reckon friend will have a long lie when she is here, she is always busy and gets up early (5am) to muck out 5/6 horses (including mine) before she goes to work then same again in the evening in addition to lots of other things. In that case a BAB could actually be brunch.

I didn't have any chocs etc. in the run up to Christmas last year but I did plan my excursions for Christmas Day. I had half a slice of rye bread with my smoked salmon starter, one roast potato and a little bit of stuffing with my main course and the tiniest bit of pudding. Having that planned really helped with staying low carb in the weeks before. My downfall actually happened after Christmas when everyone on the Bootcamp threads was feverishly finishing up all their carby cr*p before Bootcamp started. Coupled with the stress I had over Christmas that precipitated a massive fall off the wagon and a 5lb weight gain that took all of that Bootcamp to shift again.

Worse Sayra my mother is keeping her eye on me ConfusedHmm Doc did say that as I'd had the lower dose and only a couple doses that it should be sooner rather than later. And as much as I'd rather not have my mother watching me I am grateful to her helping with ds. Just need to educate her on this woe and the unhealthiness of carby twattery. Saving that for another day though as just don't have the energy to deal with it.

So we need to be aware of cravings being triggered by new BCers who are in "I better eat it all before I start" mode?!

Report
SayraT · 05/11/2014 14:27

Oh dear bitchy

At least you've got help with DS when you aren't feeling yourself and you'll be better soon and DM can stop watching you.

Right, I have allowed myself to get distracted again, I promised my supervisor I'd have a chapter finished this week so I had better get on!

I could murder a BAB Grin

Chester I think I'm going to have to join you in ditching the dairy, I know weight fluctuates but I'm 3lb up on Monday and don't know whether its the coconut porrige, the FFF or what, I've been mainlining butter and haven't touched the sweets/biscuits colleagues have brought back from their holidays. Just tried on my going out dresses as I can't afford/justify something for the works xmas do and I need to do something drastic to reduce my tits because they all look obscene Grin

Bitchy hope you're feeling a bit better and you're winning the battle with your mum.

Some animal pics for Yongy, I had to whizz past the horsey pics because I'm allergic to them - any closer than 3ft and within minutes I start to resemble a wheezing elephant man, first discovered on a romantic horse and carriage ride which ended up with me being rushed to a Spanish A&E and sort of ruined the holiday. The halloween costume was an epic fail Grin the Diva was not impressed Grin

I've just made and eaten the most delicious leek side dish!

sliced frozen leeks baked in a shallow dish with double cream a couple of spoons of Seriously Strong Cheese spread and a squirt of marmite not sure how carby marmite is but it was just a little bit finished off with a sprinkling of grated cheddar

it went really well with roast pork and DH and DD enjoyed it too Grin

Phew, day over, time to catch up with the thread.

Sayra I do "bit and bobs" lunches when I have people over, especially if we've had a big breakfast or I don't want to discuss low-carbing Blush. Cheeses, ham, salamis, salad, olives, salads, a couple of dressings and bread on the side for those that want it. I also mix mayo with harrissa or tapenade or anything similar to made a really quick dip. Lidl is good for stuff like this.

Chester Fab results! Asian inspired recipes are good for being both dairy-free and full of flavour; we had this for dinner last night (obv no rice!).

Fourarms What is THD? I need to be disciplined enough to work out what works for me and what doesn't - I'm rubbish at sticking to a plan for long enough.

Re:Christmas- I was starting to think about Christmas last night too. BIWI/ Stunts warnings are very timely - I'd thought that I would have Christmas off, but in reality that would be a recipe for disaster. I didn't have even one mince pie last year as I'd given up sugar during December. But so much of Christmas is gorgeous and low carb! So easy to do a sausagemeat-based stuffing, turkey, sprouts, braised cabbage. Smoked fish starter? Smitten kitchen has a good recipe this week if you ignore the crackers. Love the venison idea MrsKoala.

Hope you're feeling better Bitchy

Notso Grin your dog!

Coconut porridge for breakfast left me so full I didn't eat anything until just now when I had chicken curry and some lettuce. I made it with lacto free milk at 3g of carbs so should be about the same as coconut milk. Now need to drink 2 litres of water by 10 pm. I shall be up all night weeing.

Hello all

bitchy I hope you're on the mend soon.

Having a think about my eating plan over christmas - I actually don't think Xmas day will be too bad - apart from the vodka.

I'm planning on making sure there's plenty of low carb snacks and picky bits on hand, and not buy all the Christmassy crap that I usually do, then have to eat it all really quickly so I can start dieting in January!

I'm going to try and identify the higher-risk days and counteract them with being extra good on other days...that's the plan!

Curry with cauli for tea tonight yum!

Bitchy - hope you will soon be on the mend. x

When I got to bed last night, it dawned on me I hadn't had any meals yesterday, was a mad rush of a day, do remember having a pepperoni but think that might have been it. So not good, and I woke in the night feeling so hungry.

So on Tuesday I write - Back on track
Yesterday's comment would be - Gorn tit's up.

Bitchy, hope that you are feeling more like yourself.
BIWI , Barbados for 5 days just sounds fantastic. I can hear the wind howling outside this morning.
Another pound off this morning and I can see the difference. This weekend is going to be difficult with three meals out. Less wine, more water required.

Hi all, checking in to keep myself honest:
Yesterday
B: spinach, ham, avocado, tomato salad, Coffee, 1 L water
L: None Blush. Too busy at work. About 1.5 L water and more coffee.
D: 3 egg omelette with spinach, tomato, ham, cheese, shallot, 1 L water.

Today's plan:
B: spinach, turkey, avocado, tomato, mayo, Coffee, water
L: Meatloaf, green salad
D: pork stir fry

How do we feel about water chestnuts?
Looking at ingredients they aren't wildly carby. 4.3g per 100g, 0.7g of this being sugar.

Scales up a touch this morning, but I did cave and have cheese and sour cream on my chilli last night after a very stressful time with my delightful (!) nearly 4-year old. I am fine with that though, still plenty of dairy free days ahead this week to shake off the gain - and hopefully lose a bit more.

I am also wearing a pair of trousers that at the start of bootcamp were painful and looked horrendous, if I am honest. They now fit perfectly Grin

Today's plan:
B: eggs, butter
L: Left over chilli - NO cheese or sour cream (don't have any anyway as I am in work)
D: Cajun spiced chicken, guacamole, bit of salad with olive oil

Heading into a difficult week or so as it's DS's birthday so I will be making cakes, buttercream, pizza, sausage rolls etc while trying my hardest not to sample any. Then we are away for a few days so will be eating out a fair bit and no doubt surrounded by temptation, so I just hope my will is as strong as it has been so far.

Hope you are doing better bitchy :) my last dmards didnt agree with me, took ages to convince the rheumy that there was a problem, she just wanted me to persevere. Different ones now, and such a difference in less than a month.

Just eating my breakfast now - mim with mexicana, olives and rocket. Looking forward to dinner, dh is going to help me to make a 'proper' cooked meal (rather than meat and veg), we'r having cottage pie with leek in the meat and swede mash on top

feeling much better today thankfully. Dm has decided she is helping with the building work that is in progress in the house. It means that I have a bit more freedom food wise. I am making tea tonight. We agreed on lasagne, which is great because it can be heavy on the filling and light on the pasta and no one will ever know. And I am planning on making a whole sneaky corner with none in just for me, I will just need to remember which corner is mine Grin.

I should have kept the faith!! Weighed in Monday and was back down to 163.8 which although a miniscule loss - I'm having it. Gone back to daily weighing and I can't believe it fluctuates so much. I'm sorry I haven't had the time to read the thread yet but hopefully every one is doing well. Will catch up tonight or tomorrow. Smile have a lovely day all!
