Morning all. I'm not liking this Autumnal stuff at all!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your first official weigh in

And don't forget there's also the Weight Tracker if you want to keep it private.

You can, obviously use both Grin

If you're looking for inspiration in the kitchen, have a browse of the Recipe Thread and feel free to add any of your own ideas.

I hope that you're all through the other side of carb flu, if you suffered from it, and wish you all a very good second week.

Yes, I do, too.

Actually, I don't think that I'm really that much thirstier than usual, but that I'm recognising the sensation of thirst more than usual.

I think that - no, I'm fairly sure that - I often eat when im actually thirsty. Eventually I get out of touch with myself, a bit like not recognising and respecting the sensation of being full when you've got used to regularly stuffing your face.

I get through my 3L+ each day partly by having a good drink every time I think I'm hungry. Only if I still think I'm hungry afterwards do I have something to eat.

StuntNun · 07/10/2014 07:05

Drinking more water can only be a good thing. For one it's very good for your skin. I recently did an intensive kettlebells class and I did notice that other people were gasping down big drinks of water after every exercise whereas I found I was okay and just needed a big drink at the end. A clear advantage of being well hydrated.

ChesterDrawers · 07/10/2014 07:08

Morning all,

Slept though for the first time in ages last night, as did DS who is in fact still asleep now! We've had a few really bad nights recently so I think the poor mite is utterly exhausted. So. I'm waiting to dry my hair in bed with my ipad and a coffee.

Yesterday was great food wide although I did, and still do, feel a bit under the weather. Surely too late for carb flu?

Today's plan:

B: scrambled eggs, cream, butter, left over LC sausage
L: chicken, salad, olive oil
D: Chester's chicken nuggets Grin, swede chips, salad, sour cream and chive dip

RatherBeOnThePiste · 07/10/2014 07:15

Oh your poor DS Chester, you too, hope things improve from now on.

Yes Pretty I do. Like a drought and I believe there's a known reason for that.

Weigh Day here, lost 4. Fabulous.

Have good day Losers. Brew

ClashCityRocker · 07/10/2014 07:50

Yup, I've been finding I'm more thirsty, but less hungry, so totally see what you mean.

ponygirlcurtis · 07/10/2014 07:52

Tuesday is my weigh-in day too. 3.5lbs off, which is more than I deserve given my alcohol consumption but I am chuffed with that - I am 1lb off a total overall loss of 1 stone. Hurrah!

CharlieSierra · 07/10/2014 07:53

Just weighed in after 1 week and I've lost 6.6lb - bring on week 2!!!

Pisseslikeahorse · 07/10/2014 08:13

Morning all, just a bit coffee hyper bouncy silly dancing kids tickling loud music going running sort of day... I blame this WOE myself Grin

BIWI · 07/10/2014 08:16

If you're more thirsty after drinking more, you need more sodium.

That's a good article BIWI

I have been adding salt generously to all my food - but will maybe try having an Oxocube drink to supplement. Either that or start licking salt! Grin

BIWI · 07/10/2014 09:04

Good article BIWI.
Right I'm off to make fairy cakes for DD's first birthday, wish me strength!

SixImpossible · 07/10/2014 09:39

Inquenchable thirst can be a symptom of diabetes. This WOE is good for diabetes, but I would not rely upon it if you have undiagnosed diabetes. If your thirst is truly unwuenchable, even after tweaking your sodium intake, then a visit to the GP might be in order.

SixImpossible · 07/10/2014 10:06

I've just read that article (thanks, BIWI, it answers several questions that I had). I sraightaway scoffed a bowl of kale steamed in masses of butter, with about half a teaspoon of salt, because I am lightheaded.

Unfortunately, I forgot to rinse the kale first, so I've consumed rather more minerals than intended! Now I'll have to take a big drink to rinse the grit from my mouth. Grin

Liveinthepresent · 07/10/2014 10:26

Morning all - another late weigher - reporting a loss of 4lb.
Really chuffed with that - especially as AF arrived and I think some of the tight jeans / bloated feeling must have been associated with that.
Tummy feels flatter today already.
Have a lunch out to a fancy restaurant to get through today but am focussed on the goal.
Have a good day everyone.

CharlieSierra · 07/10/2014 11:48

BIWI the article is interesting, I definitely think my protein:fat ratio is probably off. I find it difficult to judge what is the 'right' amount of fat to be eating because I am programmed over a long period to think of fat as bad, naughty, an occasional indulgence, especially things like butter and cream. I've been using more in cooking, but I would really like to see a detailed menu plan with the right sort of proportions, can you recommend any books which would show me this? I tested my urine and am showing mild ketones (pink on the strip), does this matter, do I need to be in the purple range? TIA

Pisseslikeahorse · 07/10/2014 12:31

OK the coffee high has receded and my legs are now well worked after a 1,159 cal run alongside the Thames, bloody cold and windy.

MY excitement this morning came from a silly number thats been annoying me for the last month or two...

since the March bootcamp I've lost over 25% of my body weight Smile

I'm saving the other numbers, bumpy ski slope of a weight graph and pictures for when I feel that I'm there... not yet. But just wanted to shout my shit and thank BIWI and the gang for keeping me on track.

B. BPC
L. 2egg ham cheese Omelette, cauliflower

D. Pork chop, salad

going for 12pints of water keeping my name real

googoogoggles · 07/10/2014 13:22

Just had a quick read while scoffing my roast chicken (skin on – couldn't manage this at first as made me feel but now can just about manage some) with home-made coleslaw (mainly cabbage with tiny bit of carrot and half a shallot and lots of ff may)
Interesting article BIWI - thanks for the link!
After my stunning loss yesterday (7llbs), the scales taunted me this morning with a 2llbs increase, which makes me wonder if the 7llbs was "real". (my scales is a fickle beast, so usually weight myself 3 times in a row and take an average) Ah well, is probably all water anyway seeing that this is my first week on BC. Am keeping on...
Well done to everyone who is keeping on (loss this week or not).
Planning cottage pie this eve (butter/cauli topping for me, spuds for the masses)
Chester is your chester's chicken chicken on the recipe thread?

googoogoggles · 07/10/2014 13:23

pls ignore typos!

googoogoggles · 07/10/2014 13:24

Pisses - how do you manage 12 pts of water?! I'm struggling to drink my daily minimum of 3!
Am really trying to do better with this on my non-library days...

StuntNun · 07/10/2014 13:26

Well done Pisses what a fantastic milestone!

Charlie on Bootcamp you wouldn't expect to see purple on ketostix as you should be drinking enough water to stop the ketone level getting too high in your blood.

Pisseslikeahorse · 07/10/2014 13:43

googoogoggles - just drink pints, that simple. I chug one when I get up, before I eat and if I'm hungry. And have a glass (bottle if I'm out) on the go all the time.

ChesterDrawers · 07/10/2014 14:00

Well done on your 25% Pisses, that is awesome!

Googoo, yes it is. It's basically chicken dunked in egg and parmesan. Tis bloody good.

Just done a really tough class at the gym and can confirm IT WAS NOT AS HARD AS LAST WEEK Grin. Well it was just as hard as always, but I don't feel like I am dying this time. I think I might be getting into the swing of this fat burning malarkey

Am also nearly three litres of water down - double Grin

ponygirlcurtis · 07/10/2014 14:11

Interesting about the salt - I am probably not getting enough (salt, I mean Grin ) in that case. I don't add salt to my food, never have done, so any salt I am getting is through butter, mayo, cheese. Might try the bullion cup thingy - also counts as liquid intake, I'd guess, bonus.

I would also be interested in getting more info on the right protein/fat ration.

Yay Pisses on your number celebration - that's a fabulous figure you've got there! Smile
