Morning all. I'm not liking this Autumnal stuff at all!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your first official weigh in

And don't forget there's also the Weight Tracker if you want to keep it private.

You can, obviously use both Grin

If you're looking for inspiration in the kitchen, have a browse of the Recipe Thread and feel free to add any of your own ideas.

I hope that you're all through the other side of carb flu, if you suffered from it, and wish you all a very good second week.

Checking in.. Sinus headache making me cross. Angry
B: FF yogurt with cinnamon - definitely can't stomach much ff stuff in morning, I was gagging on it. Think boiled eggs and bacon/ ham or salami will suit me better in future. Coffee.
L: awkward as was delayed at offsite client meeting so went into Lidl on the way home and got some chicken breast pieces and a pack of sliced gouda and snacked on that in the car on the way back to the office. Annoyingly, i did have a lovely lunch waiting for me in the office fridge.
D: not in cooking or even reheating mood thanks to sinus headache so choking down some egg salad and some tomatoes/ spinach, very small portion for me.
About 3L water.
Definitely find my appetite has shrunk, anyone else?

Figrus · 08/10/2014 19:20

A word to the wise: do not assume that as you are a reasonable cook and have cream to hand you can turn out a reasonable bowl of broccoli soup without consulting a recipe. Ha! Vile green mush drowning in cream. All I could do was add a sweet potato to thicken the soup. It worked, but sadly it meant some potato carbs for me. So:

B: scrumptious scrambled eggs with mushroom, leek, cheese, cream
L: beef and pumpkin, cauli
D: Broccoli soup

S - sadly a very snacky day: cream cheese, celery, hard cheese ...

JamTree · 08/10/2014 19:50

Hi there!
I lost 2lb this week. Really chuffed with that as it takes it to 6lb total loss so far as I started the previous week. DH has lost 8lb so far!

I'm really enjoying trying out some new recipes and have tried some new veggies, eg celeriac, which I loved! Saving some money as I'm taking leftovers for lunch rather than spending a fortune at pret and carluccios!

Well done to everyone, great hearing about others' losses.

I don't mind being BIBI - except for the fact that it would mean I'm BecauseImBorthIt!

Another pound down today, and back on track after a couple of transgressions at the weekend. My in laws were visiting today whilst I was at work and my MIL is a bit of a feeder, so I've come home to find the following in my kitchen:

  • half a coffee cake
  • a whole banoffee cake
  • a box of mini muffins
  • a giant bag of crisps
  • 2 packets of walnut whips

Honestly - she knows I'm on a diet, my husband could definitely stand to lose a few pounds, and I'm not going to feed all this crap to my toddler or baby. Who does she think will eat all this food?

Harrumph. Rant over. Today's eats:
B: yogurt with double cream and cinnamon
L: salad with avocado, bacon and olives
D: courgette, bacon and left over creamy leeky mushroomy sauce.

Hmm perhaps a bit too much processed meat and dairy, and a splash of balsamic in the sauce, but not too bad.

I will stay strong in the face of cake, despite the bake off final on telly.

ClashCityRocker · 08/10/2014 20:32

Been a looooong day today. Up at the crack of sparrows for work and then a course this afternoon, so out of the house from 6am this morning til 8 tonight and got drenched in the heavy rain, so feeling sorry for myself!

Managed to resist any naughties though, so a definitely plus, particularly as had to eat on the move.

B - Greek yog
L - chicken thighs
T - nothing yet, but I think I best get some veggies down me! And a bit of fat. Might do some cauliflower cheese with bacon or ham. I'm disturbingly un-hungry, but will sort something.

Water - 3 litres and counting - had to make a dash into the library on my way to work to use the facilities!

Exercise - 2 hours walking. It should have only been an hour total, but I can't follow directions I really need to pass my driving test

On a brighter note, I was totally unfazed by the tub of celebrations our manager bought in for the office to share. Just said no thanks, and it didn't bother me one bit.

Tanukisan · 08/10/2014 20:34

Argh I'm still feeling really lousy. This is day seven for me as I started a little late. I still have on/off trots, and I've been feeling nauseous again today and really struggled to eat. I've had:

B: tub of ff cottage cheese, coffee with cream
L: peppered mackerel and creamed kale
D: bolognese sauce - it did have carrot and onion in and tasted bizarrely sweet. Couldn't manage a huge amount Confused

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 08/10/2014 22:07

Carb flu kicked in (day 3 here) and i might have given people a bit of a scare with my tendency to do scary white at a drop of a hat Blush Stupid day for food, very picky and not helped by ds stuffing his face with a lovely carby based dish in the car for his tea. It smelt very lovely. Envy Just trying to chuck child into bed and looking forwards to a day of proper eating rather than on the run picking.

CharlieSierra · 08/10/2014 23:04

Feeling quite good, definitely improving on the water.

B - proscuttio, egg & cheese quiche/muffin thingies
L - cauliflower and leek soup, cucumber, chicory, liptauer (a version, can't remember proper recipe and obvs can't ask Austrian ex MIL, but nice)
D - chicken & veg stir fried with garlic & chilli in coconut oil with satay sauce (almond butter, fish sauce, coconut cream, lime juice)

BIWI · 09/10/2014 00:02

Argh! An awful day for me, in many ways. Horrible, horrible client thing going on, which ended up with me bursting into tears at work. Loads of stress and lots of meetings - had to go into work early to be available for a conference call at 9 (with horrible client situation); managed to make myself some egg mayonnaise for breakfast as I had some eggs in the fridge at work, along with some Hellman's mayo.

Then raced back home for conference call (with horrible client's company and a million and one people on the phone. Only a slight exaggeration!) so no time for lunch, then had to leave immediately that finished to go and run some groups North of London (I live in SW London), so no time to eat dinner either. I picked up a snack pack of cheese and some Beef Jerky at the petrol station (and was horrified to discover how many carbs are in Beef Jerky - I always thought they would be zero carbs - but they are 5g carbs per pack).

By 8.00 pm, I was hungry but the only options available to me were packets of crisps or chocolate biscuits, so ended up eating a Kit Kat, as this was the only thing I knew the carb count of! (13.6g)

So - crap food, but carbs still around 25g for the day.

And the point of me telling you this is that no matter how you try and plan for things, sometimes life just gets in the way.

The only positive thing about it is that eating low carb suppresses your appetite, so that it's much easier to cope with this kind of day.

However, on the positive side, I am another 1.5lbs down this morning [beam], making it a total of 5.5lbs since the start of Bootcamp.

However, off to Bruges for the next couple of days with work (jolly, not work!), so I suspect this will not stick!

OP posts:
BestIsWest · 09/10/2014 06:12

Thanks BIWI.

Another 2lbs off for me too.

A stressful day for me too yesterday although hobby related. Honestly something that is supposed to make me relax totally stressed me out yesterday. I do evening classes with my mum and another relative every year. We have picked the wrong one this year and two of us want to switch to a different one, the third does not and is making me feel very guilty. I spent most of yesterday on the phone trying to sort it out. Didn't sleep last night worrying about it. Almost gLad to go to work today to have something else to think about even if I do have several meetings with the internal auditor.

ChesterDrawers · 09/10/2014 06:44

Oh God BIWI, what a bloody awful day. Hopefully your jolly to Bruge will be better Envy

All ok here but feeling a bit under the weather, sort of like I have a cold, but not quite.

Got interesting day ahead. Meeting very fit and healthy friend for lunch...at Costa of all places. She is very much a low-fat calorie counter so it should be interesting. I have already told her I'll just have a coffee as I'm dieting to which she replied 'looking forward to hearing all about it'. TBF, it is always one of our favourite topics of conversation, but I am a bit scared.

So plan is:

B: eggs, butter, cream
L: Americano with cream, left over spag Bol, cheese, salad
D: cauli pizza, with goats cheese and proscuitto. Beyond excited about this - might even post a pic later if it looks good.

Also half an lb down since Monday so happy with that.

BetterTogether · 09/10/2014 07:12

Morning everyone.

I made it into the 10s this morning Grin 10st 13.6lbs to be exact, but still very excited to have finally broken that barrier.

Yesterday was quite a challenging day food-wise as I visited a friend - out the house from 10am-3pm and was only offered (lots of!) coffee. Luckily I kind of knew that was likely so prepared for it...

B (late, just before I left): omelette with leftover salmon fillet & goats cheese with salad (delish!)
S (in car on way home) 2x babybel
L (once home) pâté with cucumber
D - burgers with salad & cheesy coleslaw

Didn't drink as much water as normal as only had 1x 750ml bottle while I was out the house, plus way too many coffees! Today I'm back at work so that will be easier - I always drink more water when I'm chained to my desk!

Hope everyone who's suffering stressful times has a better day today Thanks

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/10/2014 07:49

Hugs BIWI

Have a lovely time in Bruges xxxx

CharlieSierra · 09/10/2014 08:13

Just had to jump on before work and say I've lost another 2lb when I weighed this morning making 8lb in total since the start of bootcamp, and taking me into the stone below on the scales, absolutely bloody thrilled!

PseudoBadger · 09/10/2014 08:19

Popping in to share a LC breakfast find - Leon chains do a small pot with avocado, smoked salmon and a poached egg. Obviously not quite enough fat but when all you're faced with is bready options then it was like a beacon shining at me this morning!
