BIWI · 06/10/2014 07:35

Morning all. I'm not liking this Autumnal stuff at all!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your first official weigh in

And don't forget there's also the Weight Tracker if you want to keep it private.

You can, obviously use both Grin

If you're looking for inspiration in the kitchen, have a browse of the Recipe Thread and feel free to add any of your own ideas.

I hope that you're all through the other side of carb flu, if you suffered from it, and wish you all a very good second week.

Had a good day today, I decided to sort out my wardrobes and throw out old worn clothes.

I found jumpers and winter tops from last year that I couldn't wear because they were too tight, now they fit and a couple of them are even slightly too big Shock Grin

Then I found a bag of clothes I had already sorted (last year...) to chuck/charity shop as they were too tight. Guess what, no longer too tight Grin Good job I'm lazy and hadn't chucked them yet Smile

Food Today

B: Coffee with cream, smoked salmon and scambled eggs
L: Flat mushroom filled with cheese, some fried corned beef
D: Variation of LMDs taco bake with lamb mince instead of beef mince, vegetables (green beans, broccoli)

Grin SayraT

Congratulations Ready

One good night's sleep later and the blip yesterday is no longer the end of the world. Slept through Breakfast, had 3 eggs scrammbled for lunch, currently about to start my 4th ltr of water. Stupid thirsty today, but have also fallen into the habit of drinking water when procrastinating when I have something to do that i don't want to do Blush Scales still showing a loss from Monday's weigh in. So that is a positive. And trying to maintain strong will power in the face of actually having none atm. Worrying about health stuff atm and it is not conducive to being strong. But it never will be so I guess it is time to suck it up and stop using excuses!!!

SayraT · 11/10/2014 15:44

yongnian 2lbs a week is perfect. Do you want to lose weight quicker and end up with saggy skin that hasn't caught up?!

2lbs is a good loss, if you are finding you feel despondant because you have only lost 2lbs then you need to find a way to deal with this. At some point on this WOE you will STS or even gain. BIWI will probably post a warning at somepoint but in week 3, 4 and 5 it is not unusal to STS.

Do not give in and sabotage your weight loss, you might have 'only' lost 2lbs but if you give in then I can guarentee that come Monday you will feel worse because you might not have even lost those 2lbs.

miffy49 · 11/10/2014 16:20

Yongnian I would say that 2lb is great, especially given that you are doing BC light. Its most likely to be proper fat at that rate. Big losses are often part water and go back easily. I've found that this WOE gives a more sustainable loss even if its a bit slower. I've wandered slightly off piste from time to time but I haven't regained.

Ready, like Pisses I would really like to hear how you broke your stall. I could do with some new ideas. Smile

Notsoskinnyminny · 11/10/2014 17:17

Fantastic losses Ready and Miffy, shows what can be achieved if we stick to the rules and don't faff about. I lost 8lbs on the Jan bc but got lazy/lax waiting for the next one and never really got into it properly didn't stick to the rules because I thought I knew what I was doing and as a result started this bc 1lb heavier than I was in January Angry

This time, thanks to the practice nurse telling me to accept I'd never be a size 10 again I'm titchy as I'm menopausal and the HRT means I won't lose weight, I'm determined to lose at least 10lbs before my next check up in January and prove her wrong Grin

Ooh Sayra I hadn't thought of doing the taco bake with lamb mince and I know there's a pack lurking in the bottom of the freezer along with umpteen lonely pork steaks Grin

readyforno2 · 11/10/2014 17:55

Thanks everyone Smile
I cut down on dairy and upped my exercise slightly.
To be honest, for me it's not really my clothes I'm happiest about. Had to go and buy new underwear and my bum looks amazing!
I was kinda low carbing since January but only properly since the May bootcamp. I have had a few nights on the sauce but really haven't strayed.
Have a bit of saggy skin on my belly which I am desperate to lose but am working on it. I don't know if it will ever go after two HUGE bumps with the dc.

BIWI · 11/10/2014 18:07

Only 2lbs?!

Does this make you feel better?

Well, I was trying to upload a picture of one pound of fat, but the site is obviously not allowing photos to be uploaded!

But Google 'pound of fat' and then see if you're disappointed to have only lost 2!!!

Only 2lb this week! Two pounds in a week is brilliant. Remember this is a diet, it's not magic. Fat loss is rate limited, you can't lose more than a couple of pounds of fat in a week, anyone that loses more than that is shedding water, glycogen or lean body mass.

I had a random BC Light type meal today because I had loads of peppers to use up. I stuffed peppers with a sauce I made from onion, lamb mince, spices, toasted pine nuts and half a tin of tomatoes. I love stuffed peppers but never thought of putting meat in them before.

yongnian · 11/10/2014 19:13

Thank you one and all, consider me well and truly sheepish for moaning!! I will set those words to repeat in my mind! You are obviously right because I can see changes...so, better to have 2lb of actual fat loss..right?? Yikes, apologies to be so self-obsessed! That picture is effective....
I've managed not to sabotage...mostly! I know really I'm reacting to the stress I'm currently under...trigger for emotional eating...but here it is, so just gotta stare it down...
here's what I ate:
B: boiled egg
L: leek and home made chicken stock soup (from the roast chicken last night) with some Boursin stirred through
D: salmon steak with - food of the gods - kale crisps with salt n pep...celery with mayo mixed with whole grain mustard
S: corn thin with butter
E: rest day
W: 2.5 so far

I had two stress-related transgressions...relatively minor...but still...had a word with myself now after my pep talks!

Motivated by the thought of future clothes regained...can't afford new ones anyway but I've got some old stuff I'd be thrilled to get back into!!

ClashCityRocker · 11/10/2014 20:08

I've had a crap day today...made the mistake of going to a kids birthday party! Really disappointed with myself because I've been so vigilant for the past two weeks.

Still, not gonna let a crap day turn into a crap week/fall off the wagon, so onwards and downwards. I know it will have hinderd things, but I know how good this woe has been for me - not just the weight loss, but better skin, more energy and a general sense of wellbeing. Plus, I can see my hip bones (if I lay down) for the first time in years, plus I'm wearing clothes today that are loose, and were tight two weeks ago.

Just a bit gutted with myself that I was doing so well, then tripped up. Fully intending to do another couple of weeks at least on 'full bootcamp' mode before switching to BC light.

BIWI, I think I need your famous stick!

ClashCityRocker · 11/10/2014 20:13

Also, I read that a lb of fat is 3,500 calories worth....so 2lb is pretty awesome.

I suspect (but don't have the science at hand to back me up) that, if you're body is adapted to that woe, it's probably not healthy to use more than a few lb a week anyway - although I thing if your body is becoming fat-adapted, you will use more initially....at least that's my understanding. I know you lose more at first when going LC, but I'm given to understand that will mostly be water weight because (more wonky science) carbs store water???

I don't really understand it, but two lbs is an awesome loss!

ClashCityRocker · 11/10/2014 20:14

Eek! Excuse typos!

ChesterDrawers · 11/10/2014 21:03

Don't be too hard on yourself Clash, life goes on and these things will always happen. I personally think it's not the off plan moments that mess us up but how we cope with the aftermath. Just get back on it, drink your water and you'll be fine. wish I could take a dose of my own medicine.

Me, my day had been good but I am BC light-ing with a couple of red wines Blush

B: BPC - could not favc food
L: brocoli and Stilton soup
S: kale crisps (DS can't get enough of these Shock), a bit of left over steak
D: celeriac tartiflette - frickin' amazing!

Not lost a jot so far this week but AF due so think that's to blame. Hope so anyway.

ChesterDrawers · 11/10/2014 21:04

face food

ChesterDrawers · 11/10/2014 21:05

And I also know how to spell broccoli Blush

Pisseslikeahorse · 11/10/2014 21:19

Clash - don't dwell on calorie intake as it can trip you up and as its been said this WOE is about eating enough not restricting intake. Your portion sizes will naturally shrink, you just won't be that hungry as its really hard to consume high amounts of calories when following bootcamp properly (its one of the main reasons it works so well).

And don't feel that loosing more than 2lb a week is a bad thing, it does happen. We all go a different speeds dependent on adaption to this WOE, exercise, percentage of body fat.

You can see the upside so use that as the reason to be hard when confronted by the carby crap, sneaky drinks, emotional eating, stressful situations and pushy cake wielding bastards. DW & MIL are currently decorating ds2 birthday cake Angry

prettybird · 11/10/2014 21:34

Dh opened a bottle of wine for the 2nd day in a row, so that he could have a glass with his steak, chips and fried onions. Hmm

I made do with my steak, creamy leeks and buttery cabbage and a glass of water Smile

CharlieSierra · 11/10/2014 21:40

I made this lamb dish today, it was good, as are lots of her recipes. Paleo, so no grains or dairy, some may need slight adaptations for BC. I only used allowed salad veg and did use yogurt in the sauce.

BitchyTakesOnManagement · 11/10/2014 23:04

Erm I appear to have drunk 5ltrs of water today. I wasn't focusing on it, it just happened. This going to be a problem?

GuiltyAsAGirlCanBe · 12/10/2014 00:28

Hi all. Sorry I haven't caught up with whole thread! I stuck my head in and weighed in on week 1 but some rather significant life events got in the way.

Aim to start Monday. I am currently approximately a stone lighter than when I started my first bc earlier this year.

If it's alright with everyone I tend to do my own version loosely based on atkins that works for me as a vegetarian. But I like these threads for moral support.

I want to aim to lose 1lb a week, so if I start Monday I want to lose 11lb by Xmas day.

I was 11.3 this am, but I have been a carby twat today and probably will tomorrow, so may be more by Monday. Therefore I'd like to hit 10.6 by Xmas.
